Objective:To investigate the change of carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT) in newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetic in response to pioglitazone and to analyse a possible mechanism of anti-atherosclerosis effects of pioglitazone.Method:Sixty-two newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients were randomly enrolled into treatment group with pioglitazone and control group. The CIMT and some relative biochemical indicators were measured. Results:After treatment with pioglitazone, the CIMT,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),fasting insulin(FINS),high sensitive C reactive protein(hsCRP) and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) decreased significantly(P0.05) but that the concentration of FPG and HbA1c were markedly lower than those before management(P
2.Model establishment of Graves’disease by immunizing mice with hTSHR-activated splenocytes
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2007;0(11):-
Objective:To establish an animal model of Graves’disease by immunizing syngeneic BALB/c mice with hTSHR-ac-tivated splenocytes. Methods:The female BALB/c mice(6~8 weeks) were randomly divided into 2 groups(group a and group b), which were immunized with recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1/hTSHR and blank plasmid pcDNA3.1(+) respectively for 3 times at 3-week intervals. The animals were sacrificed at 18th week and their splenocytes were isolated.Other two groups of female syn- geneic BALB/c mice(6~8 weeks) were divided randomly into experimental and control groups, which received splenocytes from group a and group b respectively. Four weeks later, the thyroid glands were removed for histological examination and the sera were determined for Total T4,TSH and TRAb measurements. Results:The thyroid tissues under light microscope displayed dif- fuse hypercellularity with the follicular epithelia being tall cuboidal cells and reduced colloid in 44% of experimental mice with irregular apical poles protruding into the follicular space; there was minimal immune cell in the interstitium with hyper- aemia and edema. Electron microscope examination revealed that the follicular epithelia contained numerous mitochondria and rough endoplasmic reticula, and many long microvilli existed in the luminal surface. The serum level of TT4 in experimental mice was higher than that in control(7.13?1.02 vs 6.43?0.57 ?g/dL) (P
3.The cause, prevention and treatment strategy of local recurrence after operation for rectal carcinoma
Chinese Journal of General Surgery 1993;0(02):-
Objective To discuss the causes, the methods of intraoperative prevention and treatment of local recurrence in patients after operation for rectal carcinoma. Methods Fifty-two re-operated patients with local recurrence of rectal carcinoma were analyzed retrospectively. Results In these 52 patients, there were 14 patients with perianus and pelvic cavity recurrence,31 patients with stoma recurrence,4patients with vaginal wall recurrence,2 patients with prostate gland recurrence and 1 patient with implantation in the incision of abdominal wall.Among them,36 patients underwent radical operation,13 patients had palliative resection and 3 patients were treated by enterostomy. The median survival time for the groups who underwent radical(operation) and palliative resection was 33.5(12~80) months and 12(3~23) months respectively.(Conclusions) Patients with local recurrence of rectal cancer should still be given aggressive operative(treatment).Radical resection of the lesions and formal radical lymphadenectomy can prolong patient survival time and improve quality of life.
4.Expression of the transcription factor GATA-4 in human heart development
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(04):-
Objective: To investigate the expression of the transcription factor GATA-4 in human heart development. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of GATA-4 in 45 normal human embryonic hearts of 6-23 gestational weeks. Results: In the early stage of the fetal heart morphogenesis,we observed no GATA-4 expression in the ventricle, weak expression in the atria and relatively high expression in the trabecular nets. With the heart development, the GATA-4 expression was enhanced in the atria, ventricle, trabecular nets and atrial-ventricular valves,as well as in the muscular and membranous interventricular septum, the highest in each part of the heart. Conclusion: The transcription factor GATA-4 plays an important role in human heart development.
5.Morphological characteristics of hips in children with developmental dislocation of the hip:three-dimensional reconstruction of computed tomography scan
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2017;21(7):1092-1097
BACKGROUND: The development of hip joint in children with developmental dislocation of the hip (DDH) has been evaluated by X-ray plain film, which mainly presents Shen Tong's line continuity and epiphyseal nucleus position. There is still a lack of quantitative and objective evaluation methods. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the rotation center and dislocation degree in DDH children by using three-dimensional (3D) computed tomography (CT).METHODS: Preoperative 3D CT was performed for 16 unilateral DDH from December 2010 to December 2014 in Tongji Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, with 4 males and 12 females, at the mean age of (4.42±2.59) years. There were 10 cases on the left side and 6 cases on the right side. 3D digital models were constructed by analysis. The 3D coordinate system was established with reverse engineering software. In 3D coordinatesystem, using inverse solution method of sphere fitting engineering, the rotation center of the acetabulum, the rotationalcenter of the femoral head, and the radius of ossification were constructed. Ossific radius ratio and dislocation lengthwere calculated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The acetabulum has the same point as the rotation center with the head of femur, and no significant difference in X, Y, and Z coordinates was detected (Px > 0.05, Py > 0.05, Pz > 0.05). However, it is notthe same condition in ipsilateral acetabular rotation center and femoral head rotation center, showing significant differences (Px=0.052, Py < 0.05, Pz < 0.05). (2) There were no significant differences in ossific radius between the healthy and affected sides (P > 0.05). The ossific radius was (21.37±4.42) mm and (20.14±3.14) mm on the healthy and affected sides of the femoral head (P < 0.05). (3) There was no significant difference in ossific radius ratio between healthy and affected sides (0.544±0.069 and 0.522±0.088; P > 0.05). (4) The dislocation length was 8.64-35.28 mm, mean (19.47±7.84) mm. (5) These findings suggest that 3D CT reconstruction can construct 3D digital models of DDHchildren. Thus, the accurate rotation center of the hip can be identified so as to precisely measure the dislocation length.

International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2017;38(16):2229-2231
Objective To investigate the changes of detection rates of IL-2,IL-6 and serum anti-Chlamydia immunodominant protein antibody in the patients with Chlamydia trachomatis genital tract infection. Methods Sixty women with genital tract infection (CT group) and 60 healthy women (control group) were selected in our hospital from January to May 2016.The serum levels of IL-2,IL-6 and anti-Chlamydia immunodominant protein and IL-2 and IL-6 levels in cervical secretions were detected in the two groups. Results The IL-2 and IL-6 levels of serum and cervical secretions in the CT group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);the positive detection rates of serum OmcBc antibody,Pgp3 antibody,HSP60 antibody and CTT841 antibody in the CT group were 45.00%,75.00%,23.33% and 38.33% respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The positive detection rates of IL-2,IL-6 and serum anti-Chlamydia immunodominant protein antibody in the patients with genital tract Chlamydia infection are significantly increased, which has some guiding significance for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
