Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(11):1666-1670
Objective To investigate application feasibility of the heterogeneous de protein cancellous bone in the treatment of lumber intertransverse process spinal fusion. Methods Thirty 6 ~ 8 month healthy male goats were selected to make intertransverse bone bed,and were randomly divided into groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ,with 15 in each group.Group Ⅰ was the left side implanted the tissue engineering bone (A group),and the right side implanted recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) composite bone (B group);Group Ⅱ was the left implanted autologous bone (C group),and the right side implanted simple heterogeneous de protein cancellous bone (D group). Each group was observed with the Xray, histological morphology, and maximum bending load. Results (1) In groups B and D,postoperative 4-,8-and 12-week X-ray scores were lower than that of group C (P <0.05);In group A,postoperative 4-,8-and 12-week X-ray score were (5.30 ± 0.41) points,(8.54 ± 0.89) points, and (11.25 ± 0.91)points,compared to group C,without statistically significant difference (P > 0.05);(2) For groups A,B and D,postoperative 4-and 8-week histological scores were significantly lower than those in group C (P <0.05).For group A,postoperative 4-and 8-week histological scores were significantly higher than those of groups B and D (P <0.05).The histological scores of groups B and D postoperative 12 weeks were lower than those of group C (P <0.05).The histological score of group A postoperative 12 weeks was (11.04 ± 1.52) points, compared to group C without statistically significant difference (P > 0.05);(3) The maximum bending load of groups B and D was lower than that of group C (P < 0.05).The maximum bending load of group A was (60.32 ± 10.10) N,compared to group C without statistically significant difference (P > 0.05).Conclusions The construction of tissue engineered bone by the heterogeneous de protein cancellous bone, its osteogenesis is close to autogenous bone, but simple heterogeneous de protein cancellous bone osteogenesis is poor.
4.Improved sample collection methods and bacteriologic localization patterns for male genital tract infection.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(5):423-429
OBJECTIVETo improve the sample collection methods and bacteriologic localization patterns in male genital tract infection, and to investigate the influence of specimen collection and pathogen isolation on the diagnosis and treatment of prostatitis.
METHODSWe collected the samples of the initial urinary stream, the third portion of the urinary stream, expressed prostatic secretion (ESP), and semen from 200 adult males with chronic prostatitis-like symptoms, inoculated them quantitatively in culture media for isolation of microorganisms, and evaluated their laboratory diagnostic significance according to the count of colonies and distribution of the isolates.
RESULTSA total of 468 strains of microorganisms were isolated from the samples, including 414 strains of bacteria spp (88.5%), 12 strains of fungi spp (2.6%), 40 strains of mycoplasma spp (8.5%), and 2 strains of chlamydia spp (0.4%). Pathogens were isolated from the ESP in 66 cases (33.0%), from the semen in 34 cases (17.0%), and from both the ESP and semen in 100 cases (50.0%). Only 1 species of pathogen was found in the ESP samples of 36 cases (18.0%), in the semen samples of 20 cases (10%), and in both the ESP and semen samples of 39 cases (19.5%); 2 species in the ESP samples of 30 cases (15.0%), in the semen samples of 14 cases (7.0%), and in both the ESP and semen samples of 60 cases (30.0%); and 3 species in both the ESP and semen samples of 1 case (0.5%).
CONCLUSIONMultiple microbial infection (MMI), multi-organ infection (MOI) and drug-resistance strains infection are common in patients with prostatitis-like symptoms, frequently leading to missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis in clinic and laboratory, and affecting the effect of antimicrobial therapy. MMI and MOI can be diagnosed and differentially diagnosed with the improved sample collection methods and bacteriologic localization patterns.

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2014;(10):809-815
ObjectiveTo explore the contrast-enhanced ultrasonography features of postpartum placenta implantation and its clinical value in diagnosis of postpartum placenta implantation.MethodsBetween April 2009 and May 2013, twelve patients with clinically suspected placenta implantation underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in Hubei Maternal and Child Health Hospital. The location and extent of intrauterine lesions and perfusion features of contrast agent were observed. The contrast-enhanced ultrasonography features of postpartum placenta implantation were analyzed and compared with postoperative pathological diagnosis.ResultsIn twelve patients with placenta implantation, eleven showed enhancement. Only one lesion showed no enhancement, which was diagnosed as placental degeneration and calcification on postoperative pathology. One case was placenta adhesions conifrmed by postoperative pathological diagnosis, which presented with a hyperenhanced lesion in uterine cavity with a clear boundary to myometrium. Six cases were placenta implantation confirmed by postoperative pathological diagnosis, which presented with a residual placenta surrounded with extremely thin or evendiscontinuous uterine serosa. Five cases were placenta penetration confirmed by postoperative pathological diagnosis, which presented with a residual placenta penetrating the uterine serosa and contrast agent spilling out. All cases in this study were cured by operation.ConclusionsContrast-enhanced ultrasound could diagnose placenta implantation via the difference of tissue perfusion. The lesion of placenta implantation showed enhancement after injection of contrast agent. If discontinuous uterine serosa and contrast agent spilling was observed, placenta penetrating uterine serosa should be considered. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound has important clinical value in diagnosing postpartum placenta implantation and observing postoperative recovery processes of uterine rupture.
7.Plasma visfatin levels in subjects with different states of glyeemia and its related factors
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2009;25(3):297-298
Fasting plasma visfatin was determined in subjects with various types of glucose tolerance. Visfatin level was (17.64±1.37)μg/L in subjects with normal glucose tolerance, and rose to (27.42±1.34) μg/L(P<0.05) in those with impaired glucose tolerance or impaired fasting glucose, and to(26.55 ± 1.64) μg/L(P< 0.05)in diabetic patients. No difference was found between obese and non-obese subjects. Positive correlation existed between visfatin and HbA1c(r=0. 317,P<0.01). Multiple linear step-wise regression showed that HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose had independent relation with the visfatin level. The result suggests that plasma visfatin may be related to glueometabolism and may play a role in the development of type 2 diabetes.
8.Case-based discussion——A bridge links physiology and clinics
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(06):-
To design a case-based discussion pedagogy in physiology teaching so as to help students understanding basic medicine combined with clinical medicine. First of all, a teacher should find a typical case with intention. Furthermore, under the guidance of the teacher, students are encouraged to discuss the case and to answer the questions on the basis of the physiological knowledge that they have learned. Finally, the teacher should pay attention to collecting the feedback from students for the improvement of teaching level.
