Objective:
To investigate the detection of thyroid nodules and its influencing factors among residents in Dinghai District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into formulation of thyroid nodule control measures.
Methods:
Residents who were at ages of 18 years and older and had lived for 5 years or more in Dinghai District were sampled using a multi-stage stratified random sampling method from July to September 2022. Basic information was collected using a basic personal information registration form, the height, body weight, waist circumference and blood pressure were measured, and fasting blood glucose, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and urinary iodine were detected. Ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland in the neck was performed using a color ultrasound device; and the detection of thyroid nodules was analyzed and standardized by the population of the Sixth National Population Census in 2010. Factors affecting thyroid nodules using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 434 residents were included, with a mean age of (49.97±14.74) years. There were 151 males (34.79%) and 283 females (65.21%). Thyroid nodules were detected in 232 cases, with a crude detection rate of 53.46% and a standardized detection rate of 35.69%, and the crude detection rate was 19.82% for solitary nodules and 33.64% for multiple nodules. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified gender (female, OR=2.355, 95%CI: 1.520-3.647), age (40 to 59 years, OR=2.344, 95%CI: 1.416-3.878; 60 years and older, OR=5.157, 95%CI: 2.869-9.272), high level of LDL-C (OR=1.706, 95%CI: 1.065-2.734) as factors affecting thyroid nodules.
Conclusion
The risk of thyroid nodules is higher among residents who are female, are 40 years and older and have high levels of LDL-C in Dinghai District.

Objective To investigate status of internet addiction and circadian typology in college students and to explore the relationship between circadian typology and internet addiction. Methods A total of 3 572 college students including freshmen and juniors was enrolled in the study. Circadian typology and internet addiction were assessed by morningness-eveningness questionnaire(MEQ) and internet addiction test (IAT) respectively. All questionnaires were self-reported. Results The score of IAT was (38. 46±11. 84) points and incidence of internet addiction was 41. 7%. Freshmen and juniors were significantly different in distribution of circadian typology and IAT scores(χ2=10. 51,P<0. 05; t=5. 90,P<0. 01). Proportion of the evening type and scores of IAT of juniors(33. 0%,(39. 66±12. 71)points) were both higher than those of freshmen(28. 3%,(37. 32±10. 82)points). For freshmen,IAT scores of evening type students((40. 79± 11. 33)points) was higher than those of intermediate type students((36. 54±10. 27)points) and morning type students((32. 27±9. 66)points),and the differences were statistically significant(F=51. 81,P<0. 01). For juniors,IAT scores of evening type students((42. 90±13. 02)points) was higher than those of intermedi-ate type students((38. 61±12. 19)points) and morning type students((34. 06±11. 92)points),and the differences were statistically significant(F=37. 80,P<0. 01). After adjusting for gender, age, grade and par-ents’ educational level by analysis of covariance,IAT scores were still statistically different in circadian ty-pology(F=93. 53,P<0. 01). Results from ordinal logistic regression showed that grade(juniors compared to freshman,OR=1. 42,P<0. 01) and circadian typology (evening type compared to morning type,OR=3. 82,P<0. 01; intermediate type compared to morning type,OR=1. 97,P<0. 01) were independent factors influen- cing internet addiction. Conclusion Internet addiction of college students is at a high level and different in grades. Compared with junior students, senior students are at a higher level of internet addiction. College students with evening type are more likely to be internet addicted.

Objective To assess the health status of rodent laboratory animals by pathological diagnosis, our lab has being take apart in investigating the quality of laboratory animals in Beijing area for years and offer some advices for standardized breeding to ensure accurate results of scientific research. This paper focuses on the analysis of laboratory rodent samples that collected in October 2014.Methods We collected the heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, large intestine and small intestine, and put these organs into 10%Calcium formaldehyde solution for fixation, and then prepared into two different sections for optical microscopy observation including all paraffin specimens stained with H&E and the frozen sections stained with Oil Red-O and PAS.Results The vast majority of laboratory rodents were up to standard, but there still a problem in individual units. The main problem is liver and lung disease. The rate of Hepatocyte swellingis 6%(mouse), 2.5% (rat), 8.2% (guinea pig), moreover part of them were lipidosis, according to Oil Red-O stain.the mainly problem of lung is congestion ,edema and Interstitial pneumonia ,the detectable rate of pulmonarydiseases is 15.5%(guinea pig). Conclusions The vast majority of laboratory rodents were pathologically diagnosed as healthy animals. The liver disease may be caused by improper feeding. And disease of lung may led by haze, unqualified bedding and low temperature.
