2.Inhibition effect of celecoxib on the experimental choroidal neovascularization

Objective To observe the inhibition effect of selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor (celecoxib) on the experimental choroidal neovascularization (CNV).Methods Thirty 8-10 weeks old healthy male Brown-Norway(BN) rats were randomly divided into the control,laser and celecoxib group,with 10 rats in each group.At the dosage of 50 mg/kg,celecoxib was garaged twice per day.After 7 days,experimental CNV was induced by Krypon laser on laser group and celecoxib group.Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) was performed on days 3,7,14,21,30 after laser photocoagulation.On days 21 after photocoagulation,5 rats in each group were sacrificed and the relative thickness of CNV membranes,the expression of COX-2,vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) Were studied by histopathologic or immunohistochemistry examination.Results On days 21 after photocoagulation,the incidence of CNV in the celecoxib group is significantly lower than that in the laser group (X~2=7.1068,P=0v0077);the relative thickness of the CNV membranes in the celecoxib group is reduced 41.38% compared to the laser group,the difference is statistically significant (t=16.7600,P=0.0000).COX-2,VEGF and MMP-2 expression in the CNV membrane of celecoxib group were significantly lower than in control group (t=5.7100,5.8400,8.0200;P=0.0000);the COX-2,VEGF and MMP-2 expressions in choroid and retina of control group were weak.Conclusion Prophylactic celecoxib can reduce the expression of VEGF and MMP-2 by inhibiting COX-2,and prevent the CNV induced by laser photocoagulation.

Pleiotrophin, discovered in 1989, was thought as a muhi-funetional growth factor; It plays an important role in tumor occurrence and central neural system. The latest research showed pleiotrophin signal pathway probably takes part in neural repair after peripheral nerve injury, especially in the followed crisis point, such as the protection of spinal cord neuron, the promotion of the speed of neuron axon regeneration, the guidance of neuron axon regeneration, skeleton muscle reirmervation. It potentially makes a key role in the guidance of neural axon regeneration in peripheral neural system and muscle reianervation. Along with the related researches go deep, pleiotrophin gene might become a controllable target for promoting the result of peripheral neural repair and reconstructing the neuromuscular junction.

The traditional Chinese medicine deduces the 'Tianshi'based on the chronological era by heavenly stems and earthly branches,whose mechanism has been an eternal mystery.The references discussed the astronomical background of the chronological record of years by heavenly stems and earthly branches.In this paper,① A new law of the nature and human body is unitied was discovered.The relative position of the diurnal motion of the sun and the motion of five yao observed from the earth repeated with a precise period of 60 years,(1years,=360days).It lead the discussion of astronomical background for the chronological record of days and shichen by heavenly stems and earthly branches.② The yiyi calendar's chronological record of months by heavenly stems and earthly branches had the same astronomical background as the chronological record of years,i.e.the relative positions of yearly motion of the sun,the synodic month and the motion of five yao observed from the earth had an approximate cycle time of 60 years.③ The paper further discovered that the relative positions of the diurnal and yearly motion of the sun,the synodic month and the motion of five yao observed from the earth repeated every 240 years.This indicated the astronomical background for the fact that the yiyi calendar's sizhu heavenly stems and earthly branches group had a cycle time of 240 years.④ The traditional Chinese medicine should use the yiyi calendar's local time.

Nischarin is a novel protein interacting with integrin ?5 subunit.A series of studies have indicated that Nischarin plays an important role in inhibiting tumor cells migration and invasion.Meanwhile it may also serve as the functional I1-imidazoline receptor.To study this protein will be in favour of understanding the biological mechanisms of inhibiting cell migration and developing novel drugs such as inhibitors for tumor invasion.The article mainly reviews the recent progress in studies on Nischarin.
7.Expression of Dishevelled protein is correlated with the proliferation and invasion of glioma

Objective To investigate the correlation between Dishevelled protein expression and the proliferation and invasion of glioma cells.Methods 67 cases of brain glioma specimens were collected.The expression of Dishevelled protein was detected with immunohistochemical method.The immunoreactivity score (IRS) of Dishevelled protein,and proliferation index (PⅠ) and invasion index (Ⅱ) were measured and their correlations were analyzed.Results The positive rate of Dishevelled protein in glioma was 65.7 % (44/67).IRS,PⅠ and Ⅱ were 4.15±3.13,(30.93±17.92) %,(20.38±13.36) %,respectively.Both PⅠ and Ⅱ significantly increased with an increase in the pathological grade of brain glioma (P < 0.001).Furthermore,PⅠ and Ⅱ were significantly higher in the Dishevelled protein-positive group than those in the Dishevelled protein-negative group [(38.27±17.60) % vs (16.02±8.92) % of PⅠ and (30.03±13.81) % vs (10.63±4.41) % of Ⅱ,respectively,P < 0.001].PⅠ and Ⅱ of glioma cells were positively correlated with IRS of Dishevelled protein (r =0.940 between PⅠ and IRS,and r =0.953 between Ⅱ and IRS,respectively).Conclusion Dishevelled protein plays an important role in the proliferation and invasion of brain malignant glioma.
8.THE EFFECT OF PRESERVATION MYCELIAL FUNGUS BY THE METHODS OF SLANT AND RUBBER PLUG

This paper has reported the effect of preservation myceh'al fungus by the methods of slant and rubber plug. The mycelial fungus preserved include 29 genera, 69 species, 128 strains. The preservation time is from 2 years to 17 years. By slant inoculation, their survival conditions are still good keep their original charaters. The result shows that it is simple and effective preserving some mycelial fungus by the methods of slant and rubber plug.
9.Effect of QianlieShutong capsule combined with tamsulosin on serum testosterone and estrogen in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and its efficacy

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of QianlieShutong capsule in combination with tamsulosin in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia ( BPH) and its effects on serum testosterone and estrogen.Methods 114 cases of BPH were randomly divided into control group (n=54) and observation group (n=60).The control group were treated with tamsulosin, while the observation group were treated with QianlieShutong capsule in combination with tamsulosin.Then, the curative efficacy, improvement of related indexes, level of serum testosterone, estrogen and adverse reactions were compared.Results The observation group had a total therapeutic efficacy ratio of 95.0%, which was statistically higher than that of 83.3% in control group (P<0.05).In comparison with control group after the treatment, international prostate symptom score (IPSS), residual urine (Ru), prostate volume (PV) in observation group statistically decreased, and maximum flow rate (Qmax), level of estrogen increased (all P<0.05), while level of testosterone in two groups was statistically same.During the treatment, there’ s no case of severe adverse reaction.And the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 13.3%, which was statistically same with that of 11.1% in control group.Conclusion Combined treatment of QianlieShutong capsule and tamsulosin is effective for BPH, which can significantly increase curative efficacy, improve related indexes and regulate level of sexual hormone with minor adverse reactions.
10.Effects of sciatic nerve block on emergence agitation following sevoflurane-based anesthesia in pediatric patients undergoing foot orthomorphia

Objective To evaluate the effects of the sciatic nerve block on emergence agitation following sevoflurane-based anesthesia in pediatric patients undergoing foot orthomorphia.Methods Sixty pediatric patients,aged 3-7 yr,weighing 12-20 kg,of ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,scheduled for elective foot orthomorphia,were randomly assigned to one of two groups (n =30 each):control group (group Ⅰ) and sciatic nerve block group (group Ⅱ).After induction of anesthesia,laryngeal mask airway was inserted,and artificial or mechanical ventilation was performed.Anesthesia was maintained with inhalation of sevoflurane (end-tidal concentration 0.5%-2.0%) and iv fentanyl 0.5-2.0 μg/kg.The sciatic nerve block on the affected side was performed under the guidance of a nerve stimulator,and 0.25% bupivacaine 0.5 ml/kg was injected.Laryngeal mask airway removal time and emergence time were recorded.At 30 min of recovery from anesthesia,agitation was scored and the development of emergence agitation was recorded.Pain was evaluated with Faces Pain Scale-Revised (FPS-R) at 10 and 30 min of recovery from anesthesia.Adverse reactions including hypoxemia and nausea and vomiting were also recorded during recovery from anesthesia.Results Compared with group Ⅰ,the intraoperative consumption of fen tanyl and mean end-tidal concentration of sevoflurane were significantly decreased,laryngeal mask airway removal time and emergence time were shortened,and the incidence of emergence agitation,PPS-P scores and incidence of hypoxemia were decreased in group Ⅱ.Conclusion The sciatic nerve block is helpful in decreasing the development of emergence agitation following sevoflurane-based anesthesia in pediatric patients undergoing foot orthomorphia.
