MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are small mm-coding RNA molecules that post-transcriptionul-ly regulate gene expression. Advanced studies show that miRNA are involved in cancer. Even some scientists regard miRNAs as oncogenes or tumor associated genes. This review tries to have a brief introduction on the progress in the relationship between miRNAs and tumor's formation,development,diagnosis,therapy and prognosis in humans.
2.Model of immune-mediated inner ear disease and efficacy of dexamethasone by systemic application or round window administration

Objective To establish a model of immune-mediated inner ear disease(IMIED) and to compare the efficacy of dexamethasone between systemic application and round window adminstration. Methods The guinea pigs were injected with keyhole limpet hemocyanin(KLH) mixed with complete Freund's adjuvant subcutaneouly in the back,and were boosted with KLH mixed with incomplete Freund's adjuvant two weeks later.Meanwhile,a small piece of gelatin sponge full of KLH was delivered on the round window through operation.Thus established a model of IMIED.Micro-osmotic pumps were used to deliver dexamethasone through the round window(PBS control group also set),and systemic application was implemented by intraperitoneal injection.The efficacy was compared by recording auditory brain-stem response(ABR) before and after the treatment. Results None of the 6 guinea pigs in the control group experienced significant hearing loss,while 22 of the 39 guinea pigs in the experiment group suffered from hearing loss beyond 10 dB.Seventeen guinea pigs with hearing loss no less than 15 dB were divided into three groups randomly and were given different treatment.Those(n=6) treated by local application through the round window enjoyed the efficacy and the mean ABR threshold decreased 13.3 dB.Four out of the 6 treated by systemic application enjoyed the efficacy and the mean ABR threshold decreased 13.7 dB.No efficacy was observed in the PBS group. Conclusion The model of IMIED can be successfully induce by KLH through the round window,and dexamethasone administered through the round window is as efficacious as systemic application.
4.BML-111, the analogue of lipoxin, inhibits Hela cell proliferation

Objective To investigate the effect of BML-111 (the analogue of lipoxin) on uterine Hela cell (cervix cancer cell line) proliferation and the underlying mechanism. Methods Hela cells were stimulated by 50, 100, 200 and 400 μg/L BML-111, respectively, and cell viability was determined by MTT assay. Hela cells were divided into three groups:the control group (no treatment), the BML-111(200μg/L) group and the BML-111(200μg/L)plus Boc-2 (10μmol/L)group. Expression and location of P53 protein were detected by immunofluorescence. Expressions of NF-κB p65,P53 and CyclinD1 protein were detected by Western blotting. Results BML-111 (100, 200 and 400 μg/L) could effectively inhibit Hela cell viability compared with the control group (P < 0.05). P53 expression was shown decreased in both the nucleus and the cytoplasm without any change of P53 location , however, Boc-2 could reverse this effect. BML-111 could effectively inhibit P53 and CyclinD1 expression via NF-κB pathway and the effects could also be inhibited by Boc-2. Conclusions BML-111 can effectively inhibit Hela cell proliferation via FPR2 and NF-κB pathway.
5.Cause of Placement of Permanent Epicardial-pacemaker During Peri-operative Period and Long-term Follow-up Study in Patients With Congenital Heart Disease

Objective: To analyze the 10-year experience for placement of permanent epicardial-pacemaker (PM) during peri-operative period in a single center of patients with congenital heart diseases (CHD).
Methods: A total of 33 CHD patients who received the placement of epicardial-PM during peri-operative period in our hospital from 2002 to 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 6 patients with congenital atrio-ventricular block (AVB) 27 with iatrogenic AVB. All patients were younger than 8 years and the mean age was (23.2 ± 26.9) months, with the body weight at (9.7 ± 5.6) Kg. 6 patients with congenital AVB received surgical PM placement combined with CHD repair, and the other 27 patients received PM placement at (26 ± 13.1) days after the surgery. Steroid-eluting bipolar epicardial pacing leads were inserted through median sternotomy and connected to various pulse generators within the subrectus pocket. The time, type, acute ventricular stimulation sensing, impedance and electrophysiological information of PM were collected during the operation. The patients were followed-up for (46.8 ± 33.9) months for echocardiography, ECG, programming information of PM, and the major adverse cardiac events (MACE) were recorded.
Results: There were 2 congenital AVB patients received dual chamber PM and the rest patients received single chamber PM. Acute ventricular stimulation sensing was (1.34 ± 0.72) V, no signiifcant increase was identiifed in the last follow-up examination as (1.37 ± 0.81) V,P=0.93. Compared with immediate PM implantation, no signiifcant increases were observed for impedance and R wave in the last follow-up examination as (366.7 ± 88) Ω vs (331.9 ± 95.9) Ω,P=0.32 and (12.3 ± 3.5) mV vs (11.4 ± 4.9) mV,P=0.635 respectively. There were 4 patients received PM replacement because of generator dysfunction, 7/33 (21.2%) of patients had MACE as heart failure or sudden death. The age and body weight in MACE patients were similar with the patients with good prognosis,P>0.05. No pocket infection or lead fracture occurred.
Conclusion: Iatrogenic high level of AVB has been the primary reason for surgical placement of epicardial PM in CHD patients during peri-operative period. It has better long term outcome, while the type of PM should be optimized.
6.Effects of embryonic neural stem cells on trauma of red nucleus neurons of the rats with spinal cord injury after transplantion

Objective To study the effects of embryonic neural stem cells transplantion on trauma of red nucleus neu-rons of the rats with spinal cord injury.Methods NSCs in logarithmic phage were labeled with BrdU,a Sprague Dawley rat mode of spinal cord injury (SCI) was developed with electrocircuit control spinal cord injuring device.Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: sham group,SCI group and NSC group.The NSCs were trans-planted into injured site three days after SCI.Then NSCs labeled with Brdu were detected by immunohistochemisty,rubrospinal tract (RST) neurons were labeled by retrograde transport of the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) from the lesion site,which were taken by damaged axons and remained in the neurons,then the labeled red nucleus (RN) neurons were counted.Hind limb function of experimental rats was evaluated by a blinder observer using BBB open field locomotion rating score.Results BrdU positive NSCs were detected in the spinal cord after transplantation,the number of RST neurons labeled by HRP in NSC group was more than that in SCI group (P <0.01),the BBB score of NSC group was higher than SCI group (P <0.01).Conclusion The transplanted NSCs can survive in the injured site of spinal cord and protect RN,then promote more remarkably functional recovery after SCI.
7.The biological effects of zoledronic acid in combination with doxorubicin on SGC-7901 cell line of gastric cancer

Objective To explore the possible effect of combined treatment of zoledronic acid and doxorubicin on proliferation,invasion and adhesion of SGC7901 cell line,and potential underlying mechanisms. Methods MTT and Transwell experiments were used respectively to investigate the effect of different concentrations of zoledronic acid and doxorubicin on the proliferation,adhesion and invasion of SGC7901. The mRNA levels of MMP2, TIMP2, MMP9, ICAM1 and CD44 were quantified by real time PCR. Results Gastric cell line SGC-7901 were incubated with zoledronic acid for 48 h in different concentration of 10-6,10-5,10-4,10-3 mol/L,their inhibition rates were 4.98%,12.19%,27.34% and 73.13% separately,which were higher than control group (P<0.01),and enhanced along with the dose increasing and the time extension (P<0.05).Gastric cell line SGC-7901 was incubated with zoledronic acid 10-4 mol /L and doxorubicin 0.5 mg/L,respectively,or in combination for 2 h,4 h,6 h,and thereafter,the detected adhesion rates were 5.03%,24.38% and 59.65% in control group,4.40%,19.77% and 51.22% in zoledronic acid group,4.28%, 18.62% and 51.02% in doxorubicin group,4.02 %,15.02% and 46.95% in combination group. The adhesion rates were reduced after incubation with different medicament concentration (P<0.05).In the study of cell invasion,the cell numbers per high power field were:105.11 ± 10.43,98.37 ± 15.75,96.19 ± 9.24,83.02 ± 19.72 after treatment with zoledronic acid,doxorubicin or their combination at different concentrations. Compared with control, signal medicament had weak effectiveness in invasiveness in SGC-7901 (P> 0.05),whereas in combination group it was significantly decreased (P<0.05).Both zoledronic acid and doxorubicin decreased the mRNA expressions of CD44,MMP2,MMP9,ICAM1 while increased TIMP2 mRNA level (P<0.05or P<0.01) versus control.The effect was more evident with combination treatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01),compared with doxorubicin group. Conclusions Both zoledronic acid and doxorubicin can inhibit the proliferation,adhesion and invasion of SGC7901. Combination treatment has additive effect.It may be related to the down-regulation of mRNA of ICAM1,MMP2,MMP9,CD44 and up-regulation of mRNA of TIMP2.
8.Study on changes of IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-αafter cholecystectomy

Objective To investigate the changes of IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-αafter cholecystectomy.Methods 46 cases with cholecystolithiasis were selected and divided into 2 groups.23 in control group were treated with open cholecystectomy, experimental group were treated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy.The levels of IL-6, TNF-α, IL-10 and CD4 +/CD8 +T were compared in the two groups pre-and post-treatment.ResuIts Compared with pre-treatment, two groups of patients with IL-10, TNF-α, IL-6 and CD4 +T and CD4 +/CD8 +T increased (P<0.05), compared with control group, experimental group IL-10, TNF-α, IL-6, CD4 +/CD8 +T levels were higher (P<0.05).ConcIusion Laparoscopic cholecystectomy can significantly reduce the IL-6, TNF-αand IL-10 levels, reduce the body′s stress response to surgery, and reduce blood flow, shorten the operation time.
9.Food intolerance in 2962 health check-up receivers

Objective To evaluate food intolerance sensitivity among 2962 health check-up receivers from the First Hospital of China Medical University.Methods Serum samples of 2962 adults were collected from January 2008 to June 2010.Serum allergen-specific IgG antibodies of 14 kinds of food were detected by ELISA.The data were analyzed by using One-way analysis of variance.Results In this study,the rate of food intolerance was 0.4%(mushrooms) to 38.0%(eggs).Higher rates of food intolerance were found in egg,crab,shrimp,milk,and cod fish(Eggs 32.5%,crabs 26.0%,shrimps 19.8%,milk 13.8%,and cod fish 12.0% respectively).However,wheat,pork,and mushroom showed relatively lower rates of food intolerance(Wheat 0.8%,pork 0.4%,and mushrooms1.4% respectively).Positive reaction to food intolerance was even stronger in women(9.4% versus 8.2%).Conclusion It is discovered by study that in general population,the diversity of intolerance among different food is associated with 4 factors: gender; age; feature of food; individual diversity.It is recommended that the status of intolerance to food in the general population be investigated by health management.
10.Three dimensional hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography in diagnosis of fallopian tube infertility

Seventy eight infertile women were examined by three dimensional hysterosalpingocontrast-sonography(3D-HyCoSy) and X-ray hysterosalingography (HSG) to observe flowing condition of fallopian tube.With the laparoscopy as gold standard,the sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of 3D-HyCoSy in diagnosis of fallopian tube infertility were 94.7%,83.7%,93.9% and 82.4% ; those for HSG were 96.4%,82.6%,92.3%,93.0% and 90.5%,respectively.U test showed that two methods had good consistency. The results suggested that 3D-HyCoSy provides an effective method in evaluation of fallopian tube pathology for infertile women.
