Molecular modification of Chinese materia medica polysaccharides (CMMP) is considered as the technology of modification on some special structure or functional group in the main chain or the side chain of polysaccharides on the purpose of changing certain physicochemical properties and the spatial structure of polysaccharides by using physical, chemical and biological methods which can enhance the biological activity. Physical methods mainly include ultrasonic method and irradiation technology. Chemical methods refer to sulfation, phosphorylation, acetylation, carboxymethylation, alkylation, sulfonylation, selenylation, and so on. Biological method is also called the enzymatic modification containing enzyme degradation and enzymatic synthesis. In recent years, it has been shown that the physicochemical properties and spatial structure of CMMP could be changed after modification, which could make their immunopharmacology activity, such as immune adjustment, antivirus, antitumor, and antioxidant, enhanced obviously. The main modification methods of CMMP and the related pharmacological activity of its products after modification are summarized in this paper.

Objective:To evaluate the relationship between breast reconstruction and postoperative complications by meta-analysis.Methods:Through a defined search strategy, related literature was collected in databases from PubMed, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, CNKI, Wanfang Database and VIP Database, from January 1990 to November 2017. Data were extracted and each merged data was analyzed using RevMan 5.3 software. The postoperative complications between transverse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous-flap (TRAM) and deep inferior epigastric perforatorflap (DIEP), TRAM and latissimus dorsiflap (LDF), LDF and LDF+ prosthesis, LDF+ prosthesis and simple prosthesis implantation were compared.Results:Twenty-nine papers met inclusion criteria of our study. The Meta-analysis results showed that the risk of local flap necrosis, seroma, infection, fat liquefaction, abdominal wall hernia and abdominal bulging in TRAM group were higher than those in DIEP group, and the differences were significant. There was no significant difference in total flap necrosis, wound dehiscence, venous congestion between the two groups; the risk of total flap necrosis, wound dehiscence and infection in TRAM group were higher than those in LDF group, and the differences were significant. The risk of seroma in TRAM group was lower than that in LDF group, and the differences were significant. There was no significant difference in fat liquefaction between the two groups; there was no significant difference in the postoperative complications between LDF group and LDF+ prosthesis group; the risk of seroma in LDF+ prosthetic group was higher than that in prosthetic group, and the differences was significant. The risk of prosthetic capsular contracture and prosthesis displacement in LDF+ prosthetic group were lower than those in prosthetic group, and the differences were significant. There was no significant difference in prosthesis exposure and infection between the two groups.Conclusions:DIEP has most of the advantages of TRAM and fewer complications. It plays an important role in breast reconstruction in the future. We should make a choice of breast reconstruction methods according to the patient＇s conditions as far as possible in clinical practice.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of baicalein on the gap junction intercellular communication (GJIC) in the TM4 Sertoli cells of the mouse testis and its related mechanism.

METHODSWe measured the cytotoxicity of different concentrations of baicalein on the TM4 Sertoli cells in the mouse testis by MTT, detected the fluorescence transfer of the TM4 Sertoli cells by parachute assay, and determined the expression of the protein connexin 43 ( Cx43) in the baicalein-treated cells by Western blot and immunofluorescence assay.

RESULTSBaicalein produced no obvious cytotoxicity on the TM4 Sertoli cells at the concentration below 60 µmol/L but significantly increased their GJIC at 0-20 µmol/L (P < 0.01). Western blot and immunofluorescence assay showed that 0-20 µmol/L baicalein remarkably elevated the expression of Cx43 in the TM4 cells (P < 0.01) and on the membrane of the TM4 cells.

CONCLUSIONBaicalein at the concentration of 0-20 µmol/L can significantly enhance GJIC in mouse TM4 Sertoli cells by increasing the expression of the Cx43 protein.

This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of facial color features' evaluation in the dignosis and the treatment of bronchial asthma (BA) in children,providing an objective basis and therapeutic evaluation for its clinical studies.Parameters of the fratures of facial complexions of 129 children with BA were detected using.TCM-Ⅰ Smart type of life information analysis system.Then the parameters of the features of facial complexions in the children was analyzed and explored.It was found that red faces were common in asthma children during the acute stage,while withered faces were presented in the children with BA during the remission stage,lacking bright cheeks in the children of both the two stages.The H values and the S values of the features of facial complexions in the children with BA were significantly higher than those of the healthy children (P ＜ 0.05),while the V values of the children with BA were significantly lower than those of the healthy children (P ＜ 0.05).Besides,the H values and the V values of the features of facial complexions in the children with BA during the acute period were significantly lower than those in the remission stage (P ＜ 0.05).In conclusion,it was demonstrated that the characteristics of facial complexions may provide an objective basis for the prognosis of bronchial asthma in children.

AIM: To discuss the single application on iris localization technology in excimer laser for the treatment of astigmatism.
METHODS:Totally 203 cases (406 eyes) of laser in situ keratomileusis ( LASIK ) in the treatment of compound myopic astigmatism patients were operated from November 2011 to November 2012 in our hospital. They were divided into two groups. One was observation group using iris localization and the other was control group using routine operation. Patients in the observation group of 100 cases ( 200 eyes ) , aged 18-43 years old, spherical diopter was - 1. 25 to - 8. 75D, astigmatism was -1. 0 to -3. 25D. In control group, 103 patients ( 206 eyes ) , aged 19-44 years old, spherical diopter was -1. 75-9. 50D, astigmatism was -1. 0 to -3. 25D. The patients in the observation group before the application of WaveScan aberrometer check for iris image, spherical lens, cylindrical lens and astigmatism axis data operation, only single application of iris location, without using wavefront aberration guided technology, laser cutting patterns for conventional LASIK model, spherical, cylindrical mirror and astigmatism axis  RESULTS: Postoperative residual astigmatism, the observation group was significantly better than the control group. Astigmatism axial measurement after operation, the observation group was significantly less than that of the control group. Postoperative visual acuity at 6mo, the observation group was better than that of the control group. The difference was statistically significant.

It was applicated comprehensive optometry optometry respectively to examine astigmatism and axial, based on the computer analysis during the preoperative, 1wk after the operation, and 6mo. Analysis of using SPSS 17 statistical software, it was independent-sample t test between the two groups of residual astigmatism and astigmatism axis.
CONCLUSION: For patients who cannot complete the wavefront aberration guided treatment of astigmatism, can separate the application of wavefront aberration analyzer automatic iris recognition technology to improve precision of astigmatism treatment, give full play to advanced technical performance of equipment, which has good application value.

Objective To search a new,safe and effective method to obtain semen using rectal Drobe electroejaculation(RPE).Methods RPE procedures were performed in 8 men with psychological ejaculatory failure,used the electrical stimulate instrument(CGS model,made in Italy).The average age was 26 years.Seminal vesicle was normal by B Uhrasonography or CT examination.Except for 1 case of diabetes,the other 7 cases found no hormones,blood,biochemical and nervous system abnormalities.Three cases had nocturnal emission,but no sexual intercourse ejaculation.Results Adequate sperm was successfully taken out from the 8 patients.Mean seminal fluid volume was 2.3 ml,mean total sperm count was 67×106/ml and mean total motile sperm was 21.3%.Three patients felt abdominal distension during the RPE course.Conclusion RPE is a safe,reliable,non-in-vasive,repeatable method to obtain semen.

Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), angiopoietin and their receptors (VEGFR and Tie2) in aging mice kidney and the possible roles in aging mice. Methods Mice were divided as follows: 4-month old group (n=6), 9-month old group (n=6), 12-month old group (n=6) and 20-month old group (n=6). Paraffin sections of the mice kidneys were stained by PAS. The density of glomerular microvascular was determined by renal perfusion with fluorescent dyes. The level of VEGF, VEGFR2 (Flk-1), Ang-1, Ang-2, Tie2 mRNA expression and protein abundance in kidney was determined by real-time PCR, immunochemistry, immunofluorescence and Western blot. Results Compared with other three groups, in the 20-manth old group, the glomerulosclerosis index (GSI) increased remarkbly (2.48±0.79 vs 0.53±0.19, 0.69±0.18, 1.50±0.70, P<0.05); the fluorescence intensity in glomeruli decreased (P<0.05). lmmunohistochemistry demonstrated that the TGF-131 level in the aging kidneys showed an increase trend in the glomerular tubulointerstitium, and especially in the glomeruli. Real-time PCR results revealed that compared with 4-month old group mice, the mRNA expression of VEGF, Flk-1, Ang-1, Ang-2, Tie2 of the other three groups decreased, the gene levels of VEGF, Flk-1, and Ang-2 fell about 90%, 50% and 80% (all P>0.05), and the gene levels of Ang-1 and Tie2 fell about 75% and 40% in 20-month-old group (all P<0.05). Western blot domonstrated that the protein abundace of VEGF, Flk-1, Ang-1, Ang-2, Tie2 also declined with aging, the protein level of VEGF, Flk-1, Ang-1, Ang-2 and Tie2 dropped by about 35%, 50%, 15%, 13% and 21% respectively in 20-month-old group as compared to 4-month-old group (all P<0.05). Expression of above 5 factors and glomerular fluorescence intensity were negatively correlated with Scr (P<0.05). Conclusions The mRNA expression and protein abundance of VEGF, Flk-1, Ang-1, Ang-2, Tie2 in mice kidneys decreases with aging. Angiogenesis regulatory factors may play important roles in aging progression of the mice kidney.

BACKGROUND: Models concerning tumor external environment mainly concentrated on laboratory two-dimensional culture and in vitro animal experiment, which lack of three-dimensional stereo.OBJECTIVE: To establish in vitro bone metastasis stereo models of human prostate carcinoma, and to investigate the effect of stem cells on proliferation rate and clustering size of prostate carcinoma cells. METHODS: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) were extracted from 2 clean grade SD rats. Alginate was used to simulate medullary microenvironment, where prostate carcinoma cells and BMMSCs were co-culturedd. Growth of the cells in the three-dimensional model was observed through microscope and histological sections. The carcinoma cells were transfected with green fluorescent protein. The proliferation of monoclonal cells clustering was observed under light microscope and fluorescence microscope. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: In the co-culture group, the clustering speed, clustering amount and tumor formation rate were greater that those of the control group. The monoclonal cells clustering was formed at 7.75 days and 6.00 days in the control and co-culture groups, respectively, with cell counts of (95.13±11.63) and (112.53±14.67) after 10 days. The formation rate of fluorescent cell clones was (77.10±6.85)% in the control group and (64.55±6.21)% in the co-culture group, the difference had significance. The results suggested that: the alginate microenvironment is conductive to proliferation and clustering of prostate carcinoma cells and BMMSCs.

A new micro embedded telemetry system was developed for the amperometric sensing detection. Its output voltage range was ±0. 5 V and resolution was<1 mV. The current acquisition range was ±1μA and the minimum resolution was 0. 2 nA. This telemetry system was designed based on microprocessor ADuCM360, including a potentiostat, a current detection module and a radio module. And the size was only 24 mm × 13 mm × 11 mm. The computer software written in LabVIEW language was used for data storage and display. In order to verify the accuracy and reliability of this system, an electrical performance test was performed. The current response for ascorbic acid with different concentration was recorded by using the telemetry system. The potential of working electrode was set as 30 mV, and the current response of ascorbic acid electrode had a good linear relationship with its concentration within the concentration range of 50-300 μmol/L. Moreover, the applicability of the instrument in the study for living animals was explored by using the cerebral ischemia as model.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the protective effect of Huaxia shallot preparation on human umbilical vein endothelial cell (HUVEC) injury induced by oxidized low density lipoprotein (Ox-LDL) in vitro. METHODS: Ox-LDL was prepared and identified, and HUVECs were cultured. After 2-hour intervention of different drugs and 24-hour following intervention of Ox-LDL, the number of HUVECs was observed by phase contrast optical microscope and the activity of the HUVECs was observed by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) technique. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and nitric oxide (NO) content were assayed by respective kit. The protein expressions and mRNA levels of peroxisome proliferators activated receptor gamma(PPAR-gamma) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) were measured by western blot technique and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). RESULTS: Ox-LDL could increase the apoptosis rate of the HUVECs and decrease the NO release as compared with the blank control group (P<0.05). These effects induced by Ox-LDL were all significantly inhibited by Huaxia shallot preparation. It could up-regulate the protein expressions and mRNA levels of PPAR-gamma and eNOS significantly (P<0.05). Huaxia shallot preparation could decrease the apoptosis rate of the HUVECs. CONCLUSION: Ox-LDL may be involved in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis by injuring the endothelial cells directly and may cause the endothelial dysfunction. Huaxia shallot preparation can protect against Ox-LDL induced endothelial cell injury by up-regulating the protein expressions and mRNA levels of PPAR-gamma and eNOS. It suggests that Huaxia shallot preparation may play a role in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
