Journal of Chinese Physician 2014;(6):747-749
Objective To explore the application of thinprep cytology test thinprep cytologic test ( TCT) and the serum squa-mous cell carcinoma antigen ( SCC-Ag) measurement in the cervical lesions screening .Methods TCT and serum SCC-Ag measure-ment were performed in 58 patients with cervical lesions .Based on pathology diagnosis , specificity and sensitivity of these two screen-ing methods were calculated .Results Sensitivity and specificity of TCT detection were 75%and 65.8%, the sensitivity and specific-ity of SCC-Ag detection was 60%and 86.9%, respectively, and specificity of combined detection were 55%and 89.4%, respective-ly.There was statistical significance in TCT test and SCC-Ag test ( P <0.05 ) , the difference had statistical significance of combined detection of both with a single TCT to detect differences ( P <0.05 ) .Conclusions The combination of TCT and SCC-Ag detection can improve specificity and there was a certain clinical application value in the screening of cervical lesions .
3.Comparative study on the inhibitory effect of several antihistamines on the release of inflammatory mediators from lymphocytes
Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2008;41(12):803-805
Objective To observe the effect of several antihistamines, including epinastine,on the release of leukotriene B4(LTB4),interleukin 4(IL-4)and interleukin 5(IL-5)from spleen lymphocytes of allergic mice challenged by ovalbumin(OVA).Methods OVA-sensitized BALB/c mice were used as animal model of allergy.Spleen lymphocytes isolated from these mice were treated with epinastine(0.1,1.0,10 μmol/L),ebastine(10 μmol/L),cetirizine(10 μmol/L),and dexamethasone(1.0 μmol/L),respectively,followed by incubation with OVA.Those cells without pretreatment with antihistamines served as the control. One hour after the challenge,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was applied to measure the level of LTB4,IL-4 and IL-5 in the cell culture supernates. Results Following the incubation with OVA,the levels of LTB4,IL-4 and IL-5 increased significantly in culture supernates of control spleen lymphocytes.Epinastine significantly inhibited the release of LTB4,IL-4 and IL-5 in a dose-dependent manner. At the concentration of 10 μmol/L,the inhibitory effect of epinastine was more potent than that of ebastine and cetirizine for IL-5 and LTB4 release(all P<0.05):for IL-4,the efrect of epinastine was similar to that of ebastine (P>0.05)but more potent than that of cetirizine(P<0.05).Conclusion Epinastine has a potent anti-inflammatory effect.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(10):-
Flavin-containing monooxygenase 3 (FMO3) is an important hepatic microsomal enzyme that oxidizes a number of drugs, xenobiotics and other chemicals. Many variants in the gene encoding FMO3 have been identified, some of which result in altered enzymatic activity, consenquently, altered substrate metabolism.Studies also implicate individual and ethnic differences in FMO3.Thus,it is anticipated that knowledge regarding functionally-relevant FMO3 genetic variability will become increasingly important for drug development and patient therapeutic choices.

Objective To investigate the association between serum non-organ-specific autoantibodies and polycystic ovary syn-drome(PCOS).Methods A total of 69 patients with PCOS in child-bearing period treated in our hospital were selected as the study group and contemporaneous 69 healthy child-bearing year women were selected as the control group.Serum level of antinuclear anti-bodies (ANA)was measured by ELISA,serum level of anti-dsDNA was measured by colloidal gold spot infiltration assay and the extractable nuclear antigen (ENA)auto-antibodies profiles were measured by Western blot. Results Serum levels of ANA and an-ti-dsDNA antibodies in the study group were significantly elevated compared with the control group with statistical difference.Con-clusion Serum autoantibody positive exists in the patients with PCOS.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of pranlukast(Pran) on learning and memory impairment and neuroinflammatory and apoptotic response in streptozocin(STZ)-induced type 1 diabetic mice. METHODS Male ICR mice were injected through the tail vein with STZ(150 mg·kg-1)to induce the type 1 diabetes model. Diabetic mice were administered orally with Pran. After 4 consecutive weeks of administration, the escape latency in hidden platform trials, number of platform crossings and time spent in the target quadrant of mice were assessed by the Morris water maze(MWM)test. Western blot was used to detect the proteins of cysteinyl-leukotrienes receptor-1(CysLT1R)and pro-inflammatory factors, nuclear factor-κB p65 subunit(NF-κB p65),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and cleaved caspase 3,Bax and Bcl-2 in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of diabetic mice. We also determined fasting blood glucose, serum insulin and lipids such as triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low density lipoprotein cholesterol. RESULTS The data of the MWM test showed that untreated diabetic mice displayed a higher escape latency in hidden platform trials(P<0.05),and a smaller number of platform crossings(P<0.05)as well as shorter per?centage of time spent in the target quadrant(P<0.05). The data of Western blotting showed that treat?ment with Pran 0.6 and 1.2 mg·kg-1 significantly reduced the levels of CysLT1R,nuclear NF-κB p65, IL-1βand TNF-α,cleaved caspase 3,and the ratio of Bax and Bcl-2 in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of diabetic mice(P<0.05). However,Pran did not improve the fasting blood glucose, serum insulin or lipid metabolism disorder in diabetic mice. CONCLUSION Pran improves memory impairment and nerve injury in STZ-induced type 1 diabetic mice.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effeet of transurethral non-contact laser in the bladder neck stricture. Methods Q-9000 laser generator was used. The Nd-YAG laser was located to the bladder neck by laser fiber(USA).The bladder neck was cut on the point of 12 and 6 in all 39 cases. Results The maximum urinary flow was increased from (8.2?2.4)ml/s to (16.5?3.2)ml/s after operation. Conclusions Transurethral non-contact laser is effective for the treatment of bladder neck stricture.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of thoracoscopic lobectomy for pulmonary benign diseases. Methods Between July 2002 and September 2007,35 cases with pulmonary benign diseases underwent thoracoscopic lobectomy in our hospital.Of the patients,video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy was performed on 12 cases, and totally endoscopic lobectomy was carried out in 23.Results The operation was completed in all of the cases except in one who was converted to open surgery because of massive hemorrhage. In this series,no peri-operational death occurred, however, complications occurred in 3 cases(morbidity rate: 8.6%),including 2 cases of persistent air leak and 1 case of pneumonia. The mean duration of chest tube drainage was 3.6 days(2 to 7 days),and average hospital stay after operation was 7.7 days(2 to 14 days).Postoperative pathological diagnosis included bronchiectasis in 15 patients, pulmonary inflammatory pseudo-tumor in 6,tuberculosis in 5,fungal infection in 5,pulmonary sequestration in 2,and bronchogenic cyst in 2.Conclusions Thoracoscopic lobectomy is safe and effective for pulmonary benign disease.
