With the rapid progress of rehabilitation in China, how to construct the accreditation system of physical therapy (PT) education has become a critical consideration. This article introduced the background, role, management and process about the accreditation system of PT education in United States in order to promote the development of PT education in China.

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of BRMS1 ( breast cancer metastasis suppressorl ) protein in colon cancer. Methods The expression of BRMS1 protein was detected by using EliVision immunohistochemical techniques in 46 cases of colon cancer, and adjacent non cancerous colon tissues. The clinical significance with histopathologic records was aralyzed. Results The expression levels of BRMS1 ( 34.8% ) in the colon cancer tissues was significantly lower than those of adjacent non cancerous colon tissues( x2 =23.92,P <0.01 ).The expression of BRMSl was significantly correlated with tumor size, clinical stage, and lymph node status (x2 =6.02,4.28,4.35,all P<0.01) ;BRMS1 had no correlation with age, pathological type. Conclusion BRMS1 might synergistically promote the metastasis of colon cancer.Detection of the expression of BRMS1 may be hdpful in determineing the prognosis of colon cancer.

Objective To analyze the CT and clinical features of acute pancreatitis(AP) patients with perirenal space(PRS) invasion. Methods CT images and renal function tests(serum urea, creatine) changes of 64 AP patients were retrospectively studied. PRS invasion by inflammation on CT scan and the relation between PRS invasion and renal function changes were analyzed. Results 81% patients had PRS invasion in which 52% were grade B, 25% were grade C. CT features of the PRS invasion varied from mild inflammatory changes to fluid collection or phlegmonous. The PRS invasion was detected in 35 of 52 patients with mild pancreatitis and all severe pancreatitis. Renal function abnormity was 47%, only 3% patients had abnormal renal function in patients without PRS invasion compared to 44% patients with PRS invasion. PRS invasion in patients with abnormal renal function attenuated on CT scan after the pancreatitis was controlled. Conclusions The CT clearly reveals the features of PRS in acute pancreatitis patients. The attenuation of PRS invasion in acute pancreatitis patients on CT parallels renal function recover.

Objective An incentive system was established to promote the rapid development of scientific research and to improve the scientific management ability. Methods The research incentive system, which including research awards, research fund management, research fund matching, and performance management, was implemented in our hospital, aimed to develop a clear quantitative assessment index to encourage research activity, and maximize the research outcome. Results It is clear that the research project application and output in output have been increased;and it positively associated with the number of years of implementation with the statistical significance. Conclusions Establishment of the research incentive system has encouraged the clinicians to make effort to conduct research projects which has largely increased the number of research projects and produced better outcomes.Applying such system has enhanced the capacity of core research of the hospital.

Objective To describe special clinical features of the complex fractures in proxitnal humeral in adolescents, and the role of open reduction in management. Methods 14 cases of complex displaced fractures in upper humerus were openly reduced and internally fixed with T-shaped plate,L-shaped plate, modified cloverleaf plate or trapezoid-shaped plate. The lacerated rolator cuffs and capsules were repaired at the same time. Results 13 cases were followed up from 3 months to 8 years, with the average period being 2 years and 10 months.According to the INcer classification and functional evaluation of shoulder and elbow,5 cases were rated as excellent,7 good and 2 fair. Conclusion Since complex and displaced fractures of the proximal bumerua in adolescents often result in the damage to the vascular supply of the head of the humerus,in choosing operative procedures orthopedists surgeons should consider minimum exposure, limited and appropriate internal fixation rather limn rigid fixation, with an objective to preserve vascularity to the articular segment.

OBJECTIVE To explore the features, developing trend and factors of hospital infection in patients with iatrogenic injury.METHODS Retrospective surveys of hospital infections in 750 cases with iatrogenic injury were carried out in hospital between 2000 and 2007.RESULTS The incidence of hospital infection in patients with iatrogenic injury was 87.39%.Among them, hospital wound infection was the highest(87.39%),the second one was cavity infection(8.98%).The leading causative microorganisms were Gram-negative bacteria.CONCLUSIONS It is imperative to make effort to decvease the morbidity of hospital infections. We hope that the iatrogenic injury can be brought into the category of public health as soon as possible to enhance the medical care service and secure safty and health of the patients.

AIM: To determine whether the viartrils could provide a beneficial effect on the prevention of early/middle stage osteoarthritis(OA) and affect the proliferation of chondrocytes. METHODS: An OA model was produced with severing the anterior, posterior cruciate ligaments of the knee in 24 adult New Zealand rabbits. The animals were then randomly divided into viartrils group and control group. After surgical operation, viartrils (mainly contains glucosamine sulphate) 2 pills per day were administered to the animals in viartrils group. The animals were sacrificed and specimens were taken from the weight-bearing portion of the femoral condylar seven weeks after operation. Each case was evaluated according to a modified histological-histochemical grading system(HHGS) using HE and safranin O/fast green staining slides, and immunohistochemical method was used to detect the proliferation of chondrocytes in articular cartilage. RESULTS: The method of severing the anerior, posterior cruciate ligaments of the knee could successfully induce the early/middle stage model of OA. The pathological remark in control group was significantly higher than that in the viartrils group (P

National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is an important part of national system for innovation, which provides financial assistance mainly for the basic and applied researches of natural sciences, especially for the researchers who work in the learning institutions and the agencies of scientific research with advanced facilities. This paper summarized the applications and approved projects on traditional Chinese medicine in NFSC in 2005. We initially analyzed the growth, quality, characteristics, tendency and problems of these items.

Small intestinal neuroendocrine carcinoma is poorly differentiated, highly malignant, and originated from the diffuse neuroendocrine system. It diffusely expresses the general neuroendocrine differentiation markers. The disease can be manifested as carcinoid syndrome, but most of the patients were with occult onset and absence of specific clinical symptoms, which led to difficult diagnosis before operation. On June 18,2012,a patient with manifestation of recurrent vague abdominal pain received capsule endoscopy at the Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital. The capsule endoscope was retained in the distal small intestine, and malignant ileum lesion was revealed during the surgical exploration. Finally, poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma with abdominal wall metastases was identified by pathological examination.
