1.Clinical study of intraocular pressure and retinal thickness affected by residual triamcinolone acetonide after vitrectomy
International Eye Science 2018;18(10):1863-1865
AIM: To study the effect of residual triamcinolone acetonide(TA)to intraocular pressure(IOP)and retinal thickness in patients after vitrectomy.
METHODS: Retrospective study. The medical data of 83 patients(83 eyes)after vitrectomy in our hospital from October 2016 to October 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The 83 patients were treated with TA as vitreous dyeing. Vitreous cavity was not filled with silicone oil or gas. Totally 32 eyes were observed that triamcinolone acetonide was residual in vitreous cavity, 51 eyes were not observed the residual, and after 1wk and 3mo, intraocular pressure and macular center concave thickness(CMT)of two groups was compared.
RESULTS: There was no statistical difference in preoperative average intraocular pressure between two groups(t=0.56, P>0.05). After 1wk, IOP of no residual group was 15.48±3.8mmhg, IOP of residual Group was 20.09±6.14mmhg. IOP of residual group were higher than IOP of no residual group, the difference was statistically significant(t=3.81,P<0.05). After 3mo, postoperative average IOP was 13.75±2.35mmhg, IOP of residual Group was 16.26±2.52mmhg, IOP of residual group was higher than IOP of no residual group, the difference was statistically significant(t=4.54, P<0.05). After 1wk, the average CMT of no residue group was 240.57±42.69μm, that of residual group was 215.03±18.38, and the difference was statistically significant(t=3.75,P<0.05). After 3mo, there was no statistical significance on the average CMT between no residual group and residual group(t=0.21, P>0.05).
CONCLUSION: The residual triamcinolone acetonide as a dyeing agent during vitrectomy may raise the risk of postoperative intraocular pressure in short term, and after 3mo without any significant effect on the thickness of macular center.
2.Effect of orthokeratology lens on positive relative accommodation in juvenile myopia
International Eye Science 2019;19(9):1623-1625
AIM: To observe the effect of orthokeratology on the positive relative accommodation of juvenile with myopia.
METHODS: Retrospective analysis of cases. All 122 cases(244 eyes)of juvenile with myopic from September 2016 to December 2017 in our hospital were analyzed. 63 cases were corrected by orthokeratology lens and 59 cases were corrected by glasses. data of the binocular positive relative accommodation before treatment and 6mo after treatment were compared between the two groups.
RESULTS:Before treatment, the average PRA value of the orthokeratology group(-0.83±0.23)D and the average PRA value of the glasses group(-0.77±0.24)D were no significant difference(t= -1.457, P>0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment in eye axis(orthokeratology group 24.84±0.90mm, glasses group 24.78±0.86mm, t=0.550, P>0.05). PRA in the orthokeratology group -2.27±0.37D was significantly higher than that in the pre-treatment group -0.83±0.23D(t=37.070, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in PRA -0.83±0.24D at the end of 6mo compared with that before treatment -0.77±0.24D,(t=1.565, P>0.05). After treatment, the PRA of orthokeratology group was better than that of glasses group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=-25.271, P<0.001). The eye axis of the orthokeratology group 24.86 ±0.91mm was significantly higher than that of the control group 24.84±0.90mm(t=-2.453, P<0.05)at the end of 6mo. The eye axis of the glasses group 24.97±0.86mm was significantly different from that before treatment 24.78±0.86mm(t=39.135, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in the eye axis between the orthokeratology group and the glasses group after 6mo(t=-0.932,P>0.05).
CONCLUSION: The corrected visual acuity of juvenile myopia by orthokeratology was significantly higher than that by using glasses 6mo after treatment, but there was no significant difference between the two groups in eye axis during 6mo.

Laser photocoagulation is one of the important methods for treating retinal diseases, and retinal laser technology continues to advance. For decades, researchers have been striving to find a laser treatment that can minimize tissue damage while achieving optimal results. With low toxicity, low scattering light, strong penetrating power, small compared with the traditional laser damage, light reaction and no pain, the 577 nm subthreshold micropulse laser(SML)turns this goal into reality and ushers in a new era of laser treatment for fundus diseases. This article reviews the concept, mechanism, related parameters and clinical application progress of 577 nm SML in a variety of retinal diseases, aiming to provide references for clinical treatments.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)positivity in the urban areas of Chongqing and its relationship with age, season, and gender. Methods A total of 4,836 patients who underwent 14C-UBT testing at our hospital from April 2023 to March 2024 were selected. The detection rate of H.pylori and the infection status of H.pylori in different age groups, genders, and seasons were analyzed.Logistic regression analysis was performed on factors related to H.pylori infection identified in the univariate analysis. Results The positive detection rate of H.pylori in the 4,836 subjects was 29.3%,with a higher rate in males than in females, showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The highest positive detection rate of H.pylori was in the summer season, and the peak positivity rate for H.pylori was observed in the 30-39 age group. There was a statistically significant difference in the positive detection rate of H.pylori across seasons and among different age groups(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that gender, age, and season were all influential factors in the outcome of H.pylori infection(P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of H.pylori infection in the urban areas of Chongqing is relatively low,and gender, age, and season are all influential factors for H.pylori infection.
