1.Use of the temporal muscle flaps in the regeneration of the hard palate and orbital floor in the operation of the ethmoido-maxillary cancer.
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;256(2):58-63
During the period from 1989 to 1999 at Cho Ray hospital we have a series of 27 patients with unilateral paranasal sinus malignancies who were underwent the maxillectomy. The ipsilateral temporal muscle was used for one-stage primary reconstruction of the hard palate or orbital floor or both after the ablation of the tumor. Results: in this series, there are 8 T3 tumors and 19 T4 tumors. 22 temporal muscle flaps have been used for reconstruction of the hard palate and orbital floor have been reconstructed simultaneously. All flaps were good. We have neither flap related complication nor partial or total flap loss. The new hard palate flaps separated well the oral cavity and the nasal fossa and could maintain the eye ball in a good position. The patients could eat and drink by mouth just after the surgery. The flaps resist well to the following radiation therapy. No flap demonstrated any degree of radionecrosis.

2.Evaluating effect on treating hypertension in some patients with chronic renal failure, dialysis and treated in the 108 Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;0(6):71-72
A study was conducted on 24 patients with advanced chronic renal failure treated at Central Military Hospital 108. Results: The majority of patients with advanced chronic renal failure and periodic dialysis had stable blood pressure in all 7 days follow-up (with 508 measurements). The rate of measurements had systole blood pressure in emergency level (≥ 180mmHg) was very low (4/504 = 0.75%). Less measurements (8.1%) had blood pressure ≥ 160 or ≤90mmHg. The effectiveness of blood pressure medications will be enhanced when using combined treatment and taking at reasonable time (at 6 am, 10 am, 4 pm, 9 pm).

3.Comparative study on efficacy of a new combined vaginal preparation (Neo Penotran) versus Flagystatin in the treatment of common vaginitis
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2005;10(1):6-8
A randomized controlled trial was carried out on two groups of patients who were received either Flagystatine (nystatin 1000000 UI/metronidazol 500 mg) or Neo Penotran (miconazol 100mg/metronidazol 500 mg), twice a day for 7 days. Gynecological and microbiological assessments were carried out before treatment and 14 days after the first visit. In Flagystatine and Neo Penotran groups, clinical cure rates were 42% and 77.9% respectively; microbiological cure rates were 68.2% and 72.1%. In Neo Penotran group, functional symptoms were reduced more than organic symptom (84.8% and 79.1%, respectively). This difference was not so remarkable in Flagystatine group (64.8% and 65.95, respectively). Side effects of Neo Penotran were insignificant. Neo Penotran therapy without supportive treatment had higher efficacy in vaginitis at dosage of two pill a day in 7 days. The drug showed effects in both of function symptoms and organic symptoms, in clinical and paraclinical

4.Preliminary study on the changes of daytime blood pressure in some advanced chronic renal failure, dialysis patients with hypertension
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;512(5):21-23
Study was carried out on 22 advanced chronic renal failure, regular dialysis inpatients with hypertension (21 males, 1 female, ages from 25 - 76) treated in Central Military Hospital No.108. All of patients were treated hypertension with combined regimen or one drug followed convention, periodic dialysis 2-3 times per week, 4 hours per 1 time. The study’s time was 7 days. The results: almost of chronic renal failure patients had stable blood pressure, less daytime fluctuation in all of 7 days (with 462 measurements). Very less measurements (8/462) had systole blood pressure in emergency level (≥180 mmHg), less measurements (25/462) had blood pressure, which was not achieved treatment aim due to systole blood pressure at grade 2 (≥160 mmHg). A good efficacy of treatment with hypertension medications achieved by combined treatment at 6 hours, 10 hours, 16 hours and 21 hours of taken times.

5.Fetal chromosomal anomalies during pregnancy
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2005;10(4):209-213
Fetal chromosomal anomalies can be of number or of structure, on autosomal or on sex chromosomes. Prevalence of anomalies was approximately 1/150 of live births. However, some chromosomal anomalies did not show abnormal phenotypes. Abnormality of chromosomes was a main cause of spontaneous abortion and stillbirth, especially early abortion. Most of anomalies happened during gametogenesis of parent having normal chromosomes. The others were inherited by abnormalities from parent who had abnormal genotype but normal phenotype. Chromosomal anomalies are diagnosed by recognizing abnormal chromosome. Diagnosis was recommended when abnormal ultrasound was detected or when there were abnormality in history of mother and family. Chromosomal anomalies increased also with maternal age

6.Trisomy 18 in antenatal screening – a case report
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2005;10(5):277-278
Report one case of pregnant woman aged 29 years old, with history of spontaneous abortion 1 year ago, without other medical condition. In this gestation, the last menstruation was on September, 26th 2004, and expected delivery time on July, 3rd 2005, weight gain was normal, and fetus was normal clinically. Ultrasonographic finding showed polyhydramnios and syndactyly on the right hand. Amniotic paracentesis for FISH test result revealed trisomy 18 disorder. This pregnant woman was indicated gestative cessation. Baby was born after 31st of pregnancy, Apgar’s score: 3/4, weight of 1100g, with syndactyly on the right hand, abnormal heels and face (low-set ears, micrognathia), and dead after 3 days

7.Some opinions of bronchial asthma in the Institute of Pediatrics
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;423(5):47-49
A study on 56 children with bronchial asthma in the Institute of Pediatrics during 5-10/2001 has shown that the bronchial asthma is increasingly, accounted for the high rate among respiratory tract diseases. The disease occurred in men more frequently than in women in which children with ages of 5-10 accounted for highest rate of disease. The severity of bronchial asthma did not much influence the children's life. The treatment should be considered for individuals and involved the combination of corticoids and 2-adrenergic stimulant.

Journal of Medical Research 2007;55(6):72-75
Background: Respiratory distress is one among the leading reasons cause mortality for infants especially for preterm babies or light weight babies. Surfactant therapy in premature infants can decrease mortality, duration of respiratory treatment, pulmonary air leaks and chronic lung disease. Objective: This study aims to assess the effect of surfactant therapy in premature infants with respiratory distress syndrome at Intensive Care Unit of Children Hospital N\xb0.2. Subjects and method:A cases study about premature infants less than 24 hours after birth with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) admitted to intensive care unit and treated with surfactant from January 2007 to July 2007 at the Children Hospital No 2. There were 30 cases recruited. The data was collected and analyzed by EpiInfo software 2002.Results: Most of them improved in respiration status after using surfactant (96.7%); no case of air leak was seen; 3 bronchopulmonary dysplasia cases and 4 deaths due to nosocomial infection were seen. Conclusion: Surfactant therapy was effective in premature infants with RDS. In the case of having economic advantages, surfactant may be indicated for preventive treatment on the premature and light weigh infants without respiratory distress syndrome on clinical aspect.
