1.The Effects of the Numbers of the CanaIith Repositioning Procedure on the Treatment of Benign ParoxysmaI PositionaI Vertigo

Objective To study the effects of the numbers of the canalith repositioning procedure on the treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV).Methods A clinical study was conducted on 68 BPPV patients using randomized controlled methods.The canalith repositioning procedure was performed on 34 patients in the treatment group only a day for 3 consecutive days,whereas it was performed on 34 patients in the control group once only,patients in both groups took betahistine mesylate tablets and flunarizine hydrochloride on the basis of ma-nipulative reduction.After one week and three months,the efficacy was evaluated,and the recovery situation was observed.ResuIts After 1 week of treatment,the cure rate was 82.4% in the treatment group,and 58.8% in the control group.The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After 3 months,the cure rate was 91.2% in the treatment group,and 85.3% in the control group,showing no significant difference (P>0.05 ).ConcIusion Based on the classifications of BPPV ,several times of manipulative reduction combined with drug treatment can im-prove short-term cure rates of BPPV and shorten healing time.
2.SVM-aided cancer diagnosis based on the concentration of the macroelement and microelement in human blood.

Support vector machine (SVM) has shown its excellent learning and generalization ability for the binary classification of real problems and has been extensively employed in many areas. In this paper, SVM, K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Tree C4.5 and Artificial Neural Network were applied to identify cancer patients and normal individuals using the concentrations of 6 elements including macroelements (Ca, Mg) and microelements (Ba, Cu, Se, Zn) in human blood. It was demonstrated, by using the normalized features instead of the original features, the classification performances can be improved from 91.89% to 95.95%, from 83.78% to 93.24%, and from 90.54% to 94.59% for SVM, K-NN and ANN respectively, whereas that of C4.5 keeps unchangeable. The best average accuracy of SVM with linear dot kernel by using 5-fold cross validation reaches 95.95%, and is superior to those of other classifiers based on K-NN (93.24%), C4.5 (79.73%), and ANN (94.59%). The study suggests that support vector machine is capable of being used as a potential application methodology for SVM-aided clinical cancer diagnosis.

3.Study on XRCC1 gene polymorphisms and EBV infection in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and underlying mechanism

OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between genetic polymorphim of X-ray repair cross complementing gene 1(XRCC1) and EBV infection in NPC cell.METHODS NPC CNE cell strain was divided into different groups depending on its XRCC1 genetic polymorphism,and EBV was transferred into different groups.Characteristics of cells and XRCC1 protein were detected among different groups before and after EBV transferring.RESULTS There was no difference in cell characteristics and XRCC1 protein level among different genotypes in NPC CNE cells strain.After EBV transferring,there was an increasing in cell malignancy in NPC cells,including control group,wild type group,and 194,280,399 mutant genotype groups,and the differences were statistically significant(P>0.05).There was no difference in XRCC1 protein level before and after EBV transferring.Compared with other groups,the increasing in cell malignancy was less in the 194 mutant genotype group before and after EBV transferring,especially in cell migration and proliferation.There were no difference in the increasing of cell malignancy and XRCC1 protein level among control group,wild type and 280,399 mutant genotypes of NPC CNE cells before and after EBV transferring.CONCLUSION The results suggest that EBV transferring can raise the carcinogenicity of NPC cell.After EBV transferring,the 194 mutant genotype is associated with a reduced carcinogenicity of NPC cells compared with other genotypes.
4.Concept and strategy of traditional Chinese medicine balanced treatment of breast cancer from the perspective of "pathogenesis and state identification"

In view of the difficulties and blind spots of western medicine, how to make scientific decisions to standardize the treatment of breast cancer in traditional Chinese medicine and improve the participation of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of breast cancer is an important focus of innovative breakthroughs in breast cancer treatment. Based on the clinical experience of Professor LIN Yi, a master of traditional Chinese medicine, and on the basis of "disease identification and syndrome differentiation", this paper summarizes and refines the status of qi and blood imbalance, accumulation of phlegm and blood stasis, viscera deficiency, and cold heat cementation in breast cancer, and further proposes the "six views" of breast cancer balanced treatment: the pathogenesis view focuses on "evil invasion due to vital qi deficiency, and the proliferation of tumors", and the pathogenesis view focuses on "cancer toxin and imbalance of yin and yang", the diagnostic view focuses on "examining the underlying factors and understanding the causes and effects", the differentiation view focuses on "balancing qi, blood, yin, and yang to achieve harmony", the therapeutic view focuses on "supporting vital qi and eliminating evil, and considering the root cause and syndromes", and the rehabilitation view focuses on "adjusting balance to maintain a stable state". We are committed to holistic syndrome differentiation and treatment, balancing yin, yang, qi, and blood, thereby harmonizing the internal environment of the human body, and mobilizing the immune and rehabilitation functions of the body.
