Journal of Chinese Physician 2011;(z1):18-21
Objective Analyzing the distribution of 1476 strains of clinical common pathogens and their antimicrobial resistance, provide reference the reasonable use of antimicrobial drugs for clinical. Methods Using BD company PHOEIX-100 Automatic Pathogen Identification to Pathogen identify 1476 strains of pathogens which were got from the various isolated and cultivated samples which were examined from 2009 January to 2010 August and its antibacterial Drug Susceptibility Test, then with WHONET5. 3 system to analyze monitoring data of the pathogen distribution and resistance. Results In 1476 strains of pathogens isolated, gram-negative bacteria had 1206 strains occupying 81.7% ; Gram-positive cocci had 270 stains occupying 18. 3%. The most common detected pathogen were Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which accounted for 20. 2% ,17. 5% ,13. 2% ,11.4%.The ESBLs producing E. coli and K. pneumoniae accounted for 65. 9% ,48. 1% ; Also methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) accounted for 79. 2% and methicillin-resistant coagulase-negative staphylococci (MRCNS) accounted for 68.4%. It isnt found yet that grape genus to vancomycin, nitrofurantoin can resist drug.Gram-negative bacilli to antimicrobial vinyl hydrocarbon mold degree of sensitivity is high. Conclusion The isolated pathogen's resistance of drug is widespread. It is important to guide clinical reasonable use of antibiotics and control infectious pathogens that carry out continuous monitoring of drug resistance.

Bleomycin is an antitumoral antibiotic derived from Streptomyces verticillus in 1965. The drug has been used with a varying success in the treatment of squamous cell carcinomas and malignant lymphomas. The cutaneous toxicities of bleomycin include hyperpigmentation, sclerosis, gangrene, nail changes and erythema. Linear streaks appear to be a characteristic eruption induced by bleomycin. We report three cases of flagellate pigmentation from intravenous bleomycin. Three patients were suffering from uterine cervical carcinomas and were treated with chemotherapy with a VBP (vincristine, bleomycin, cisplatire) regimen. During or after their courses of chemotherapy, dark brownish skin lesions developed on the body surface of these patients. A Light microscopic study of each specimen showed increased pigmentation of the basal layer and an electron microscopic study showed a slightly increased number of melanosomes in keratinocytes.

Objective To establish a rapid specific quantitative assay for Bacillus anthracis detection. Methods According to the principle of complex probe quantitative assay, the primers and quantitative probes targeted at chromatosome DNA rpoB were designed and applied to detect Bacillus anthracis. The influence factor of quantitative PCR were determined. Results The optimal system of this method was aquired: the length of quenching probe is 15mer,the ratio of fluorescent probe to quenching probe is 1/2 and the concentrtion of Mg 2+ is 3 mmol/L.The sensitivity of this assay for Bacillus anthracis is 10 3 copies. It can distinguish Bacillus anthracis from other closely related Bacillus. Conclusion The method can rapidly quantitatively detect the Bacillus anthracis with high sensitivity and specificity, it can be applied to clinical diagnosis.

ABSTRACT:Objective To explore the role of PTEN in the suppression of neural stem cells so as to clarify whether neural stem cell proliferation can be promoted by regulating the PI3K-Akt/PTEN expression level. Methods We removed the hippocampus from neonatal 24 h Kunming mice, isolated and cultured the generation of neural stem cells, which were then identified by immunofluorescence test.We randomly grouped the cultured neural stem cells into normal group, ischemia model group, hypoxia group (hypoxia + ischemia model group),Lip2000 group (hypoxia+ ischemia model group + Lip2000 null transfection group,PTEN transfection group (hypoxia +ischemia model group+Ad5-PTEN transfection group),and PTEN interference group (hypoxia+ ischemia model group+Lip2000+PTENsiRNA interference group). We detected the proliferation of neural stem cells in the groups at different time points, and PTEN protein expression of neural stem cells in each group after PTEN transfection,
and the effect on iconic protein on Akt-PI3K signaling pathway. Results (1 )Nestin identification of the neural stem cells was tested by immunofluorescence. We observed green bright and typical cell spheroids under fluorescence microscope;the clear structure could be seen within spheroids.(2)We determined the proliferation of neural stem cells at different time points by MTT.After 36 h of culture, the neural stem cells had obvious proliferation in the hypoxia group and Lip2000 group compared with the model group, the PTEN transfection group and PTEN interference group (P <0.05),including the cell proliferation of PTEN interference group compared to that of the model group, and PTEN transfection group obviously, the differences were also significant (P < 0.05 );(3 ) Compared with the cells in the normal group,PTEN expression increased in the model group and PTEN gene transfection group (P <0.05);it was all lower in other groups than in the normal group (P <0.05).The trend of decrease was similar in hypoxia group,Lip2000 group, and PTEN interference group (P >0.05);(4)After PTEN plasmid transfection, there were no apparent changes in the total Akt and bad in the groups, but compared with the normal group,PI3K,p-Akt,and p-bad expressions in model group and PTEN gene transfection group reduced (P <0.05),with the more obvious changes in the PTEN transfection group.PI3K,p-Akt,and p-bad expressions in the hypoxia group, Lip2000 group and PTEN interference group increased (P < 0.05 ). Conclusion Hypoxia contributes to promoting the proliferation of neural stem cells, and the inhibition of PTEN on PI3K/Akt might be the key factor for blocked proliferation of adult neural stem cells.

Objective To observe the effect of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on magnetic resonance spectroscopy of vascular dementia (VD) rats. Methods After the VD model was reproduced, the 12 rats were randomly divided into the therapy group and dementia group with 6 animals in each group. Another 6 rats were selected as sham operation group. The VD rats in therapy group were treated with bFGF by hypodermic injection. After 5 weeks, abilities of learning and memory of three groups' rats were tested by Morris water maze. The changes of magnetic resonance spectroscopy and N-acetyl aspartate (NAA), NAA/(Cr+Cho) in lobus temporalis of VD rats were also observed. Results Abilities of learning and memory of rats significantly improved in the therapy group than that in the dementia group (P<0.01). The values of NAA, NAA/(Cr+Cho) in lobus temporalis of VD rats significantly increased in the therapy group than that in the dementia group (P<0.01).Conclusion bFGF by hypodermic injection can obviously elevate abilities of learning and memory and the values of NAA, NAA/(Cr+Cho) in lobus temporalis of VD rats.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1992;10(1):93-97
Parkinsonism is not commonly associated with intracranial tumors. The most common brain tumor causing parkinsonism is meningiomas. We are presenting two cases of meningiomas whose major manifestations included parkinsonism. In one, parkinsonian symptoms initially partially responded to L-dopa and bromocriptine. A CT scan taken for a stroke-like episode revealed a meningioma of left frontal convexity. After neurological sequelae of CO poisoning, the patient poorly responded to antiparkinsonian drugs. Surgical treatment of meningioma did not result in satisfactory control of extrapyramidal symptoms. In the other with a parasagittal meningioma, parkinsonian symptoms were postoperatiYely improved. Because no curative treatment is available for the majority of parkinsonian patients, early detection of an underlying neoplasm may result in a most rewarding outcome. It would be desirable to perform CT or MRI in cases of parkinsonism with other associated neurological manifestation. Unilaterality of parkinsonian symptoms may also be indication.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 2000;43(10):1380-1385
PURPOSE: Amblyopia is the commonest cause of defective vision in childhood. It develops during the sensitive period of visual maturation which continues until about 7-8 years of age. The authors investigated the effect of a polaroid photoscreening camera designed to detect amblyogenic factors, including asymmetric and abnormal refractive errors, strabismus, ptosis and media opacities. METHODS: Fifty-four children aged 3-24 months were evaluated for amblyogenic factors using the polaroid photoscreening carnera from March 1998 to March 1999 in Chungnam National University Children's Hospital. Then each child underwent medical examination by an ophthamologist. Results The mean age was 9.0+/-4.5 months. The results of photoscreening were normal findings of 74.1%, abnormal findings of 25.9%, and slight eccentric fixation in 18 cases, normal findings in 9 cases, peripheral crescents in 13 cases, strabismus in 4 cases, myopia in 5 cases, hyperopia in 2 cases, anisometropia in 2 cases, ptosis in 1 case and reexam in 14 cases. The photoscreener had a sensitivity rate of 81.8%, a specificity rate of 88.4%, a positive predictive value of 64.3% and a negative predictive value of 95.0%. CONCLUSION: Polaroid photoscreening method is an easy, noninvasive and reliable mass screening method of detecting amblyogenic factors in undilated children.
