OBJECTIVETo observe the curative effect of Qianjin Kouchuang Jiawei Granule (QKJG) on recurrent oral ulceration [yin deficiency fire excess type (YDFET)].

METHODSTotally 120 patients who suffered from recurrent oral ulceration (YDFET) were randomly assigned to two groups, the experiment group and the control group, 60 in each group. Patients in the experiment group took QKJG, 20 g each time, twice per day, while those in the control group took Kouyanqing Granule (KG) , 20 g each time, twice per day. Fourteen days consisted of one therapeutic course, two for all. Scores for patients' symptoms and signs (ulcer area, exudation, hyperaemia, edema, the number of ulceration, burning sensation, and pain degrees) were assessed before treatment, at day 3 and 7 after treatment. Short-term efficacy was assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS). The total paralysis time and the total number of ulceration at month 12 after treatment were taken as judgment for long-term efficacy. Results Compared with before treatment in the same group, symptoms and signs were obviously improved at day 3 and 7 after treatment in the two groups (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group at day 3 after treatment, the improvement of edema, exudation, pain degree, and burning sensation was more obvious in the experiment group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The improvement of edema, pain degree, and burning sensation at day 7 after treatment was more obvious in the experiment group than in the control group (P < 0.05). As for short-term efficacy, the total effective rate was 86.67% (52/60 cases) in the experiment group and 83.33% (50/60 cases) in the control group, with no statistical difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). As for long-term efficacy, the total effective rate was 90.00% (54/60 cases) in the experiment group, significantly higher than that of the control group with statistical difference [81.67% (49/60 cases), P < 0.05]. At month 12 after treatment, the total number of ulceration was reduced and the paralysis time of ulcer attack prolonged in the experiment group, with statistical difference when compared with the control group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONQKJG showed better long-term efficacy than that of KG in treating recurrent oral ulceration (YDFET).

Objective To discuss the feasibility and superiority of EST combined with LC in treating cholecystolithiasiswith common bile duct stones.Methods Patients underwent LC(laparoscopic cholecystectomy) preceded by EST(endoscopic sphincterotomy) and removal of common bile duct stones.ENBD(Endoscopic nasal biliary drainage tube)was placed if EST failure and then the patient underwent LC+laparoscopic biliary duct exploration(LCBDE),or open operative bile duct exploration.Results In 91 of the 99 cases,LC preceded by EST and stone removal was successful,while EST following LC was successful in 3 cases,and stone removal by EST was unsuccessful in 3 cases.Two cases less than 15 years of age underwentLC+LCBDE through the cystic duct and did not undergo EST.Three cases,who had EST failure,underwent LC+LCBDE with primary suture of the common bile duct or LCBDE with T-tube drainage of commonbile duct,or open bile duct exploration with primary suture of the common bile duct(ENBD was in place).All patients were discharged from hospital without serious complications.Conclusions EST combinedwith LC in treating cholecystolithiasis with common bile duct stones is a safe and effective method.Combination of endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures fully reflects the advantage of minimally invasive therapy.

Objective To explore the influence of XTP4 on genomic expression profile of hepatocyte through screening and cloning of genes trans-regulated by XTP4-expressing plasmid. Methods The expressive vector pcDNA3.1(-)-XTP4 was constructed by routine molecular biological methods, and suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) method was employed to detect the mRNA differentially expressed by the HepG2 cells transfected with pcDNA3.1(-)-XTP4 and pcDNA3.1(-), respectively, using lipofectamine. The twice enriched PCR products were subcloned into T/A vectors to set up the subtractive library. Amplification of the library was carried out in E. coli strain JM109. The screened cDNA were sequenced and analyzed in GenBank with Blast search after PCR. Results The amplified subtractive library containd 21 positive clones. Colony PCR analysis showed that there were 16 clones containing 200-1000bp inserts. Sequence analysis was performed and 9 kinds of encoding sequences were achieved. These genes trans-regulated by XTP4 protein involved in hepatic fibrogenesis, tumorgenesis, mitochondrial function, and cell growth regulation. Conclusions The findings obtained by SSH provide significant data for a preliminary understanding of the biological function of a new identified gene-XTP4. These results will pave the way for the study of the molecular mechanism of the transactivating effects of HBxAg and the development of new therapy for chronic hepatitis B.

Objective To compare the effect on preserving rat amputated extremities during the cold preservation between the UW solution and HTK solution.Methods Thirty healthy adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups (10 rats in each group) for producing the models of amputated limbs of rats.The three groups were separately irrigated the amputated limbs with UW solution,HTK solution and saline from femoral artery.After irrigation,the extremities were preserved in the refrigerator at 4 ℃.Samples of skeleton muscle tissue were taken for pathological and biochemical examination every 6 hours since the amputation.Results After perfusion,HE:changes of organizational structures of skeletal muscle were lighter in experimental groups than in control group (saline-perfusion group) at the same time.While samples in UW solution-perfusion group has lighter changes of organizational structure than those in HTK solution-perfusion group.TEM:at 12 h,all the three groups have shown the mitochondria edema.At 24 h,the myofibril in saline-perfusion group become fragments.Biochemical examination:at 24 h,indexes in salineperfusion group,HTK solution group and UW solution group were:ALP (U/L) 3.62 ± 1.32,3.37 ± 0.84 and 2.68 ± 1.59,respectively;ALT(U/L) 542.25 ± 129.36,521.82 ± 97.32 and 462.53 ± 74.18,respectively;AST (U/L) 2200.12 ± 687.61,2002.20 ± 632.27 and 1742.87 ± 396.09,respectively;CK(U/L) 313190.83 ± 42041.32,283173.50 ± 31488.87 and 271319.67 ± 41147.52,respectively;LDH (U/L) 32409.50 ± 4253.20,30382.50 ± 2337.18 and 30047.83 ± 4628.78,respectively;GLU(mmol/L) 0.242 ± 0.041、0.240 ± 0.044 and 0.252 ± 0.049,respectively;LAC (mmol/L) 1.790 ± 0.160,1.792 ± 0.196 and 1.993 ± 0.366,respectively;SOD(U/mL) 80.82 ± 9.46,91.62 ± 14.97 and 73.71 ± 10.60,respcctively.There were statistical difference among the UW solution-perfusion group and centrol group in ALP and GLU (P ＜ 0.05).UW solution-perfusion group has better results than HTK solution-perfusion group in SOD (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Amputated limbs irrigated with organ preservation solution as a way to protect skeletal muscle had great effects on lightening tissue damage and keeping tissue active.Between the two usual organ preservation solution,UW solution had a stronger protective effects on the amputated limbs than HTK solution.

The physical functions of the heart and brain is based on the sufficiency,fluency and balance of qi and blood. Therefore,the basic pathogenesis of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases should be imbalance of qi and blood. Any causative agent is bound to influence the harmony of qi and blood once it attacks the heart and brain,its evolving laws are qi stagnancy and blood stasis at early stage,subsequent cementation of phlegm and blood stasis,and more qi deficiency and more blood stasis in the end. Regulating qi and activating blood circulation may harmonize qi and blood,balance yin and yang,which should be served as the basic therapeutic method for treating cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.

Objective To evaluate the prognostic role of bispectral index (BIS) monitoring in patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the intensive care unit (ICU).Methods Thirtythree adult patients after CPR were enrolled and divided into survived group and non - survived group as per 7-day survival.During their stay in the ICU,BIS and SaO2 (saturation of artery oxygen) levels of all the patients were continuously monitored.The neurological status of the patients was measured with Glasgow coma scale (GCS).Acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ ( APACHE Ⅱ ) was used to evaluate the patient condition. SjO2 (saturation of jugular bulb venous oxygen ) levels of 23 patients were continuously monitored and then the difference in values between SaO2 and SjO2 was calculated to show oxygen metabolism in the brain. The studied variables were compared between the two groups. The correlations between BIS values and GCS scores,and between BIS and APACHE Ⅱ scores were respectively analyzed. Results The BIS values and difference in values between the SaO2 and SjO2 were significantly higher in the patients of survived group than those in the patients of non-survived group (P ＜0.01 ).There were positive correlation between BIS and GCS (r =0.821,P ＜ 0.01 ) and as well as positive correlation between BIS and APACHE- Ⅱ ( r =0.434,P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusions The BIS may be useful to predict the post - resuscitative outcome of patients after cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Objective:To study the effects of glucosamine(GlcNH2) on immune function in mice.Method:The effects of GlcNH2 on murine proliferation of splenocytes were carried out in vitro.After feeding mice by GlcNH2,the phagocytotic functions of mononuclear macrophage,murine delayed type hypersensitivity(DTH) caused by sheep red blood cells(SRBC),the ability of antibody production(tested by HC50),and the index of immune organs(thymus and spleen) were deteimined in vivo.Results:GlcNH2 could promote the proliferation of splenocytes,phagocytotic functions of mononuclear macrophage,DTH,the ability of antibody production and the index of immune organs.Conclusion:Glucosamine can enhance immune function in mice such as cellular immunity,humoral immunity and non-specific immunity.

This study aimed to investigate viral infections and the prevalence of influenza-like illness (ILI) in Shijiazhuang, China, in 2011 and to provide a scientific basis for the diagnosis and control of respiratory tract infections. Throat swab specimens were collected from 483 cases of ILI who were outpatients in the influenza surveillance sentinel hospitals in Shijiazhuang between January and December 2011. All specimens were examined by multiplex RT-PCR for the following 15 respiratory tract viruses: adenovirus (ADV), human rhinovirus (HRV), human parainfluenza virus (PIV types 1-4), influenza virus A (FluA), influenza virus B (FluB), human enterovirus (HEV), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV-A and -B), human metapneumovirus (HMPV), human coronavirus (HCoV-229E/NL63 and -OC43/HKU1), and human bocavirus (HBoV). Among the 483 cases of ILI, 214 (44.31%) were positive for viruses, including ADV (8.7%), HEV (8.7%), RSV-A (8.07%), HRV (7.45%), FluA (5.38%), HCoV-OC43/ HKU1 (2.9%), PIV-3 (2.9%), HMPV (1.86%), PIV-1 (1.24%), HCoV-229E/NL63 (1.04%), PIV-2 (1.04%), HBoV (0.83%), and FluB (0.41%). Twenty-six (5.38%) of all cases were co-infected with two or more viruses, most commonly HEV/HRV with other viruses. Cases of viral infection were detected throughout the year, with peaks in January and February. ADV and HRV were detected throughout almost the whole year without obvious seasonality. HEV was detected between April and November, with a peak of prevalence in summer and autumn. FluA and FluB reached epidemic levels mainly in winter and spring. All cases of RSV were identified to be subtype A. PIV infection was mainly caused by PIV-3. The positive rate of HCoV-OC43/HKU1 infection was significantly higher than that of HCoV-229E/NL63. The leading five viruses that resulted in ILI Shijiazhuang in 2011 were HEV, ADV, RSV-A, HRV, and FluA, and these viruses have different epidemiological features.

Objective To investigate the clinical application of fecal calprotectin in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).Methods Colonoscopy took 79 patients with IBD that were diagnosed with pathology,including 47 cases of ulcerative colitis (UC) patients,32 cases of Crohn's disease (CD).Moreover,42 cases of IBD patients without abdominal pain,diarrhea and other intestinal inflammation were used as disease control group,and 34 cases of healthy people were used as healthy control group.The level of fecal calprotectin in each group was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results The positive rate of fecal Calprotectin in IBD group,disease control group and the healthy control group was 57.0％,19.0％,and 0,respectively; each positive rate in IBD group was significantly higher than the other two groups (P ＜ 0.05).The serum concentration of fecal calprotectin in IBD group [(493.86 ±204.18) μg/g] was significantly higher than the disease control group [(71.46 ± 60.51) μg/g] and the healthy control group [(36.19 ± 13.46) μg/g] (P ＜ 0.05) ; IBD active calprotection [(1015.23 ± 324.96) μg/g] was significantly higher than resting [(52.69 ±34.71) μg/g] (P ＜0.01).Conclusions Fecal calprotectin test benefits early diagnosis of IBD,and may be taken as the diagnostic index of IBD activity.It has extensively clinical value.
