Tianjin Medical Journal 2016;44(5):543-547
Objective To identify snoRNA, which may be related to prognosis of gastric cancer. Methods Ninetygastric cancer patients who diagnosed at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital were randomly collected in this study, and their clinical data were followed up. A total of 405 snoRNA expression profiles were analyzed in 90 gastric cancer patients. Patients were classified aslow expressiongroup orhigh expressiongroup according to the median expression of each snoRNA expression, which was calculated by univariate and multivariate survival analysis. We also screened out the snoRNAs, in which patients were survived differently. Patients were classified as high, middle, or low risk groups based on the snoRNA risk score. Values of age, gender, smoking, drinking, histological differentiation (well, moderately-differentiated and poorly differentiated), clinical stage (Ⅰ+Ⅱstage andⅢ+Ⅳstage), tumor size (<5 cm and≥5 cm), tumor location (upper 1/3 and others) and snoRNA risk score (high, middle, and low risk group) were assessed by multivariate Cox analysis. Results There were significant differences in overall survival and (or) progression-free survival rates in 19 patients with high and low snoRNAs expressions (P<0.05). Results of multivariate Cox analysis showed that patients with high expression of ACA61,ACA27 and U36A showed a higher overall survival and progression-free survival rates, while patients with high expression of ENSG00000206898 showed a lower overall survival and progression-free survival survival rates (P<0.01). SnoRNA risk score is an independent prognostic factor for patients with gastric cancer. Compared with low risk group, patients in middle risk group and in high risk group showed a shorter overall survival and progression-free survival rates (P<0.001). Conclusion The expressions of ACA61, ACA27, U36A and ENSG00000206898 are independent prognostic factors of gastric cancer. Low expressions of the first three indexes and high expressions of the last one predict a bad prognosis.

Modern Clinical Nursing 2017;16(5):14-17
Objective To investigate the effect of individual nostalgia therapy on positive feelings and sadness of the spouses of postoperative patients with esophageal cancer. Method From June 2014 to June 2015, 60 hospitalized patients and their 60 spouses were set as control group. Routine health education and guidance were conducted once or two times a week for 7 weeks. Another 60 cases of hospitalized patients and their 60 spouses during July 2015 and June 2016 were set up as observation group. The patients were treated with the same nursing intervention as in the control group, and their spouses were subjected to individual nostalgia treatment once a week for 7 weeks. Before the intervention (postoperative day 2) and 7 weeks after the intervention, the positive aspects of caregiving (PAC) and the Margit-Meuser caregiver grief ineventary short form (MM-CGI-SF) were used to investigate their positive feelings and sadness. Result The score on spouse's positive feelings in the observation group after intervention was significantly higher than those of the control group and that of the observation before intervention (P < 0.01). Conclusion Individual nostalgia can effectively improve the feelings of the spouses of esophageal cancer patients and reduce their grief.

OBJECTIVE:
To observe the change of auditory brainstem response (ABR) in hearing deprivation rat model induced by bilateral cochlears ablation at different time points.
METHOD:
Forty SD rats were randomly divided into four experiment groups including 2-week group, 4-week group, 6-week group, 8-week group and four control groups with 5 rats (n = 10) in each group. Then bilateral cochlears ablation was applied to experiment groups. The threshold value of ABR was measured at different time and latent period of each wave was compared.
RESULT:
The threshold of ABR in experiment group was elevated significantly. The latent period of each wave was pro longed significantly (P < 0.01). In experiment group, the threshold value of ABR in 2-week and 4-week group was significantly greater than that in 6-week group and 8-week group (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSION
Bilateral cochlears ablation surgery could elevate the threshold of ABR and latent period of each wave prolonged. The effect of hearing deprivation became apparent after surgery for 4 weeks.

Journal of Modern Laboratory Medicine 2017;32(4):50-51,56
Objective To estimate the diagnostic vaule of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) detection for epithelial ovarian cancer, and investigate the relationship between the presence of CTCs and the clinic pathologic characteristics of epithelial ovarian cancer patients. Methods Quantification of CTCs were performed using immunomagnetic bead based negative enrichment combined with flow cytometry in 65 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer,21 patients with benign ovarian diseases, and 10 healthy subjects. The differences among groups were analyzed by the Kruskal-Wallis H test (multi group comparison) and the Mann-Whitney U test (two group comparison),and the chi-square test was used in the positive rate comparison, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was established. The relationship between CTCs and clinic pathologic characteristics of epithelial ovarian cancer patients were analyzed. Results The receiver operating characteristic analysis showed the cut off value was 4.5 (> 4),the AUC was 0.806,and sensitivity, specificity and positive value (PPV) were 55.4 %,96.8 % and 97.3 % respectively,in detecting patients with ovarian carcinoma malignancy.Quantification of CTCs in epithelial ovarian cancer was correlated with FIGO stages or distance metastasis (all P<0.05),but not with patient age, histological types, pathologic differentiation, amount of ascites, tumor size and lymph node metastasis (all P>0.05).Conclusion The detection of peripheral CTCs has a certain diagnosis value in epithelial ovarian cancer, especially with related to FIGO stages and distant metastasis.
