Computed tomography (CT) is considered the most sensitive method for the detection of intraocular foreign bodies (IOFBs).The purpose of this study was to evaluate a new method of 3-dimentional (3D) localization of IOFBs that takes advantage of the anatomical structure of the optic nerve and to assess the clinical outcomes using this new method.Twenty-two trauma patients with IOFBs or suspected IOFBs admitted to our hospital were scanned with multislice CT (MSCT) between July and December 2003.All scanning was performed with a 16-row spiral CT in axial plane using a sequential scanning protocol.During the scanning, the eyeball of the patient was kept stable and was not allowed to rotate internally or externally.Section collimation was set at 16 mm × 0.75 mm.Table feed was 12 mm.Reconstruction index was 0.75 mm.After scanning, the reconstructed images were loaded into a workstation to create the multiplanar reconstruction images with the aid of the 3D software. We compared the localization results with the operative findings.Multiplanar reconstruction images showed IOFBs in all 22 patients.IOFBs occurred in the eyeball of 14 patients,in the wall of the eyeball of 5 patients and in the posterior orbits of 3 patients.Different surgical procedures were designed according to the localization by this new method and all IOFBs were successfully removed. All of these foreign bodies were metallic and the localization of IOFB using MSCT was consistent with that found by operative findings. It was suggested that MSCT is a simple and effective imaging modality for the localization of IOFBs.In our study,we localized the IOFBs more quickly and accurately by taking advantage of the fixed position of the intraocular segment of the optic nerve, and determined the necessary surgical parameters.

Objective To determine relationships between daily activities measured as modified version of Pulmonary Functional status and Dyspnea Questionaire (PFSDQ-M) and functional capacity and symptoms experienced in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods Convenience sample of 94 COPD patients with stable condition were assessed by interview with PFSDQ-M Chinese version and modified Medical Research council dyspnea scale (MMRC) respectively. Pulmonary function test (PFT) and 6-minute walking test (6MWT) were undergone on the same day or within one week as interview. PFSDQ-M has three subscales,i.e.,change experienced by patient with activities (CA),dyspnea with activities (DA) and fatigue with activities (FA). Results Scores of CA,DA and FA correlated to 6-minute walking distancer= (-0.37)- (-0.42),FEV_1 r=(-0.27)-(-0.32),FEV_1/FVC r= (-0.27)- (-0.32),dyspnea rated by MMRC (r=0.55-0.60) and BODE index (r=0.35-0.40),respectively (all P<0.01). dyspnea explained 26% of the variance in changes of activities. Conclusions Physical activities moderately changed in patients with stable COPD;Dyspnea is the best predictor of limitation of daily activities.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;24(10):10-13
Objective To explore the expert survey of the weight and the current common weight of the similarities and differences in the quantitative analysis of the symptoms in syndrome evaluation. Methods Through the expert questionnaire survey, the data of the questionnaire were analyzed by SPSS11.5 software. For the question of whether the weight of each symptom was the same, the frequency of the experts who gave yes and no was calculated. For the weight of the specific number of such openness, the weight given by the experts was listed firstly, and then the weight of frequency of each expert was calculated, and the frequency of the largest weight was selected as the weight of the symptoms to determine the weight of the syndrome quantification assignment in the evaluation of the efficacy of the syndrome, and to compare the obtained weight with the current weight. Results The weight of the two methods is very close in the weight of the primary symptom and the weight of secondary symptom. But as for whether the weight of the primary symptom and secondary symptom is the same, the majority of the experts think that it should be different, and the current usual practice is to give the same weight. Conclusion During the weight determination, not every primary symptom or secondary symptom is the same important. Therefore, the practice of giving the same weight to evry primary symptom and secondary symptom is questionable.

Objective:To survey the status quo of awareness, demands and satisfaction of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) service among the elderly residents in nursing home. Methods:A randomized survey on the status quo of TCM service was conducted from May to July 2019 among 237 elderly in 9 long-term care facilities close to a TCM hospital in Pudong New Area. The awareness, demands, satisfaction and influencing factors were analyzed. Results:Among 237 participants, only 1(0.4%)knew the TCM and its care well, however, 195 (82.3%) showed demands of TCM service. There were significant differences in the scores of demands and satisfaction of TCM among participants with different age, education level, marital status, medical insurance and health level ( P<0.05). Among the 16 TCM services, the three with top demand scores were acupoint massage (3.54±1.21), TCM health education (3.29±1.08), TCM drug iontophoresis (3.23±1.26); the three with top satisfaction scores were TCM health education (3.38±0.94), traditional health exercise (3.33±0.95), moxibustion (3.32±1.15). The demands and satisfactory were most correlated with each other in the guidance TCM medication ( r=0.996) and TCM herb tea ( r=0.988); and least correlated in the identification of TCM constitution ( r=0.305) and acupoint massage ( r=0.484). Conclusions:Among the elderly in long-term care facilities the awareness of TCM is at a low level, while the demands of TCM service are high. It is necessary to promote TCM service for elderly in long-term care facilities through TCM health education and developing the TCM products and appropriate techniques.
