Jat(lOmg/kg iv) administered 5 min prior to ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery significantly decreased the incidence of arrhy-thmias(VT and VF)and mortality of rats during ischaemia and reper-fusion.It also delayed the onset and shortened the duration of arrhythmias. The size of myocardial infarction caused by coronary artery ligation was decreased by Jat ( 0.75mg/kg iv. 1 h before and 6 h after operation) in rabbits.

Objective To study the effect of Potentilla Discolour Bunge (PDB) on the NOS expression of the vascular endothelial cells (VEC) of DM rats. Methods The DM rat model was established by alloxan injected, and then the rats were treated with herb of PDB for 4 weeks continuously. The NOS expression of VEC were assayed by histochemistry method and image analysis system. Result NOS OD value of the PDB group was higher than that of model group and Glibenclamide group (P

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of invasive procedures of prenatal diagnosis for twin gestations through analysing the results and outcomes of twins. Methods Invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures guided by ultrasound were introduced to 164 twin pregnancies with various indications, including 111 amniocentesis, and 53 cordocentesis. The results of prenatal diagnosis, complications and outcomes of these twins were analyzed with Chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. Results (1) Chromosome was examined in 261 fetuses and 6.13% (16/261)had abnormal karyotypes.(2) Comparing amniocentesis with cordocentesis, the fetal loss rate within two weeks after the procedure were 0.00% (0/191) and 3.85% (3/78),respectively (P=0.024).The total fetal loss rate and preterm delivery rates in amniocentesis and cordocentesis group were 3.87% (6/155) and 5.45% (3/55),51.22% (42/82)and 38.71% (12/31),respectively (P=0.235and 0.618).(3) Selective feticide was performed on 18 cases after prenatal diagnosis.Fifteen cases had survival neonates, two cases suffered from spontaneous abortion, and two cases had preterm labor with neonatal death. Conclusions (1) Invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures are effective and feasible in twins.Amniocentesis is a relative safer and simpler alternative to cordocentesis, which demanding higher skill and carrying higher fetal loss rate.(2) Mid-trimester selective feticide after prenatal diagnosis appears safety. Before the procedure, the chorionicity and fetal condition should be considered,in order to choose suitable feticide procedures.

AIM:To observe the expressions of cathepsin B (CB) and cystatin C (CC) in different stage of diabetic rats and to investigates their potential roles.METHODS:Sixty rats were divided into diabetes mellitus group induced by intravenous injection of streptozotocin (55 mg/kg) and normal group injected with citrate buffer. Ten rats were sacrificed respectively at the end of fourth week, eighth week and sixteenth week in both groups. 24 h urine excretion was collected in rats before sacrifice. The blood and the kidney were also collected. The mRNA and protein expressions of CB and CC in kidney were detected by real time PCR and immunohistochemical staining, respectively.RESULTS:At the end of eighth week, the expression of Ccr,24 h urinary protein excretion,CB,CC in diabetic rats increased significantly, compared to the results at the fourth week (P

Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(05):-
Objective To explore the value of tubercular antibody (TBAb) in the diagnosis of tuberculous pericarditis (TBP).Methods The TBAb in 38 patients were determined by colloidal gold (CG) and compared with 64 healthy control. Results The positive ratio in TBP group was significantly higher as compared with control group. The hydropericardium was significantly decreased or disappeared after 6 months of antituberculotic treatment by color Doppler ultrasonography. It seemed that patients were rehabilitated and electrocardiogram (ECG) was normal. Conclusion TBAb is valuable in the diagnosis, differential diagnosis or treatment of TBP.

Objective To discuss the effects of capsular tension ring after phacoemulsification combined with IOL implantation on tilt and decentration of IOL in high myopia patients with cataract by ultrasonic biomicroscope (UBM).Methods A total of 36 cases (40 eyes) with high myopia and cataract underwent phacoemulsification combined with IOL implantation were chosen. The average axial length was 26.88 mm.The patients were divided into implant group (19 eyes, the capsular tension ring was implanted) and control group (21 eyes, the routine surgery was performed). The patients were examined by conventional slit lamp, and the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA)was measured at pre-operation and postoperative 6 months.Tilt and decentration were measured horizontally and vertically, and total tilt and decentration were calculated by geometry method. Results The postoperative BCVA in the two groups were all better than the pre-operation,there was no statistical difference in the preoperative and postoperative BCVA between two groups (all P > 0.05).The horizontal, vertical and total decentration the implant group were (0.15 ± 0.07) mm,(0.30 ± 0.40) mm,(0.11 ±0.02)mm,respectively,which in the control group were (0.26 ± 0.19)mm,(0.32 ±0.60) mm,(0.24 ± 0.97) mm,respectively. The horizontal, vertical and total tilt in the implant group were 0.02° ±0.11°,0.70° ±0.25°,0.21° ±0.74°,respectively,which in the control group were 0.11 ° ± 0.31 °,1.09° ± 0.20°,1.24° ± 0.97°,respectively.There were statistical differences in the horizontal, total tilt and decentration between two groups (all P < O.05),but no statistical difference in the vertical tilt and decentration (P > 0.05).Conclusion The capsular tension ring can stable the IOL position after surgery in high myopia and cataract patients.

In order to synthetically train students to do scientific researches independently, inspire their enthusiasm and go-aheadism about study, and improve the quality of experimental teaching,we have been exploring to update experimental content and reform experimental system for many years, and have commenced a number of "Series Experiments".The setup of"Series Experiments" which means several separate experiments are organized together by their internal relations has already showed us a favorable effect.

Objective:To provide reference for the treatment of lipoprotein glomerulopathy and to investigate the participation of clinical pharmacists in the whole treatment course. Methods: Three different treatment regimens, including immunosuppressive thera-py, dual plasma filtration therapy and lipid-lowering combined with reducing urinary protein therapy was respectively adopted for one patient with lipoprotein glomerulopathy, and the efficacy was evaluated. Clinical pharmacists assisted physicians in deciding treatment regimen, performed pharmaceutical care, adjusted medication and analyzed the prognosis of the patient during the follow-up. Results:1. Immunosuppressive therapy was ineffective for the patient;2. The dual filtration acted quickly, while the expense was high and the disease was easy to relapse;3. The third therapy was relatively safer and more economical with long-term effect. Conclusion:Combi-nation therapy of lowering lipid and reducing urinary protein is the most suitable treatment regimen for the patient with lipoprotein glo-merulopathy. Clinical pharmacists play an important role in the whole course of treatment to assist physicians in obtaining the maximum benefit of patients.
