Objective To investigate the anaesthetic effect of propofol combined with remifentanil by target-controlled infusion (TCI) used in gynecological laparoscopic myomectomy.Methods Fifty cases,who were scheduled for gynecological laparoscopic myomectomy in our hospital from June 2010 to June 2011,was randomly divided into propofol combined with remifentanil group (n =25) and inhalation anesthesia (remifentanil combined with sevoflurane) group (n =25).The heart rate and blood pressure were recorded at the time of before induction of anesthesia (T0),30 min after carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum,the end of operation and 3 min after extubation.The awake time,time of extubation and surgery time were also recorded.Results The hemodynamics were kept stable in propofol combined with remifentanil group,and there were no significant difference with respect to SABP,DABP and heart rate at all time points compared with baseline (P ＞0.05) in propofol group.However,in inhalation anesthesia group,SABP,DABP and heart rate were increased significantly at 30 min after carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum and 3 min after extubation when compared with baseline (P ＜ 0.05) and were higher than those of propofol group (P ＜ 0.05) at counterpart time points.In inhalation anesthesia group,the awake time ((9.3 ± 1.5) min vs (4.9 ± 1.1) min,t =10.56,P =0.017) and time of extubation ((12.9 ± 2.4) min vs.(6.8 ± 1.2) min,t =12.36,P =0.01) were significantlv longer than that of propofol group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Propofol combined with remifentanil TCI-based anesthesia could achieve the optimal hemdynamic stability during anesthesia maintance and better recovery profile from anesthesia in gynecological laparoscopic myomectomy.

OBJECTIVEIn recent years, abnormal changes in the endocannabinoid system have been found in schizophrenia. The superior temporal gyrus (STG) is strongly implicated in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia, particularly with regards to auditory hallucinations. In this study, we investigated the binding density of cannabinoid CB1 receptors in the STG of schizophrenia patients compared to control subjects.

METHODSQuantitative autoradiography was used to investigate the binding densities of [(3)H]SR141716A (a selective antagonist) and [(3)H]CP-55940 (an agonist) to the CB1 receptors in the STG. Post-mortem brain tissue was obtained from the NSW Tissue Resource Centre (Australia).

RESULTSContrasting to previous findings in the alterations of CB1 receptor densities in the prefrontal, anterior and posterior cingulate cortex of schizophrenia, which were suggested to be associated to impairment of cognition function, no significant difference was found between the schizophrenia and control cases in both [(3)H]SR141716A and [(3)H]CP-55940 binding.

CONCLUSIONWe suggest that CB1 receptors in the STG are not involved in the pathology of schizophrenia and the auditory hallucination symptom of this disease.

In the present study, the antibacterial spectrum of turmeric extract was analyzed by measuring the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and the antibacterial mechanism of turmeric extract was elaborated by determining its effects on the permeability and integrity of the cytoplasmic membrane, energy metabolism, and the morphology of the tested bacteria (Bacillus subtilis) with the highest susceptibility to the extract. The results showed that turmeric extract possessed broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi, especially against Bacillus subtilis, with the MIC of 0.5 mg·mL^-1. Turmeric extract disrupted the liposome membrane and released calcein encapsulated within it. The permeability of the bacterial cell membrane was increased, leading to leakage of intracellular K⁺, Ca²⁺and cell wall proteins, and the integrity of the cell membrane was broken down, causing leakage of intracellular proteins and polysaccharides. Scanning electron microscope observation confirmed that the bacteria treated with turmeric extract was severely deformed. Simultaneously, cellular energy metabolism was affected, resulting in a significant reduction in the intracellular ATP content and ATPase activity in bacteria. In summary, the antibacterial mode of turmeric extract is closely related to its disruption of bacterial membrane structure.

On hundred cases of B—hepatitis were treated by self—formulatel B—hepatitis No.1 granules made of traditional drugs.A control group of100 cases were treat-ed with Jiaosanxian(scorched triple ingredients,con-sisiting of hawthorn,malt.and membrane of chickengizzard).Resultsshowed that,in the experimentedgroup,the lowering of transaminase,inhibition ofvirus duplieation and improvement of globulin ratioareall—superior to the control group.The resultswere also verified bylaborarory experiments.

Objective To explore the clinical value of ureteroscopy and minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy ( MPCNL) in the treatment of ureteral calculi patients with acute renal dysfunction .Methods Clini-cal data of 124 ureteral calculi patients with acute renal dysfunction were retrospectively analyzed .86 cases were trea-ted with holmium-laser lithotripsy under ureteroscope .38 cases were treated with MPCNL under the guide of ultra-sound.Results Three months after operation ,the stone clearance rate was 100%,and no severe complications were observed.The renal function decreased to normal levels in 102 cases(82.3%).Conclusion The holmium laser lith-otripsy under ureteroscope and MPCNL can deal with double sites of ureteral calculi ,and offer advantages with less in-vasion,safety and efficiency ,which can be the first choice for the ureteral calculi combined with acute renal dysfunc -tion.
