2.Clinical Outcome after Surgical Treatment of Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation with Small Bony Bankart.
Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow 2015;18(3):144-151
BACKGROUND: The consensus is that a bony Bankart lesion shorter than 25% of the length of glenoid does not affect the clinical result; hence, such lesions were often neglected. However, small bony Bankart lesions are associated with various types of capsulolabral lesions. METHODS: A total of 82 patients who had undergone arthroscopic capsulolabral lesion repair surgery for anterior shoulder dislocation were reviewed. The prevalence rates of early and late type of capsulolabral lesions were compared between a group of patients with and a group without small bony Bankart lesions. In addition, the types of accompanying capsulolabral lesion were analyzed according to the type of bony Bankart lesion. Finally, the clinical outcomes were evaluated (active range of motion, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score and Rowe's score). RESULTS: Among the 13 patients who had small bony Bankart lesions, the prevalence rate of early and late type of capsulolabral lesions was 38.5% and 61.5%, respectively. Among the 69 patients without bony Bankart lesion, the prevalence rates of early and late type of capsulolabral lesions were 74% and 26%, respectively. Significantly worse clinical outcome was observed for the group of patients with both small bony Bankart lesions and late type of capsulolabral lesion. CONCLUSIONS: More severe type of small bony Bankart lesion appears to be associated with late type of capsulolabral lesion. The significantly worse clinical outcome for patients with both small bony Bankart lesion and late type of capsulolabral lesion indicates that small bony Bankart lesions cannot always be neglected.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
To study the effect of heparin on the ConA induced acute liver injury inKunming mice, twenty four mice were randomly divided into groups A,B and C.To the mice in group A, 0 2ml of normal saline (NS) was intravenously administered, while those in group B were given ConA 18mg/kg instead of NS in order to induce severe acute liver injury. Heparin was injected subcutaneously in a dose of 100U per animal at the same time as ConA challenge in group C. Compared with group B, prior injection of heparin in group C significantly decreased the mice death rate and the peak levels of serum ALT within 8h. At the same time, intrasinusoidal congestion and hepatic inflammation were alleviated significantly, and MDA level in liver homogenate was lowered markedly. It suggested that heparin is efficient in protecting the mice from liver injury induced by ConA.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2008;23(5):360-363
Objective To investigate the expression of forkhead box protein P1(FOXP1)in gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphomas and its relationship with histological morphology and prognosis. Methods In this study.samples of 43 MALT lymphoma were studied histologically and divided into monomorphic histology group and polymorphic histology group according to their cellular features. The expressions of FOXP1 and NF-κB in gastric MALT lymphoma were evaluated immunohistochemically by two-step method of Envision, and the clinicopathological features and prognosis were analyzed retrospectively. Results The nuclear expressions of FOXP1 in 43 cases with gastric MALT lymphoma were 44%(19 of 43),including strong immunoreactivity in 7 cases and moderate immunoreactivity in 12 cases. There were 4 cases with positive immunoreactivity in moninorphic histology group and 15 cases in polymorphie histology group, and the difference was statistically significant(15%vs.88%,P<0.01).All the postoperative recurrent cases were strongly positive with FOXP1 stain, and it was closely with FOXP1 expression(P<0.01).The median survival time(26 months)in polymorphic histology group was significantly shorter than that(123 months)in monmorphic histology group(P<0.01),and the median survival time was significantly longer in negative FOXP1 expression group than that in moderate FOXP1 expression group and in strong FOXP1 expression group(115 vs.55 vs.12 months)(P<0.05).similarly,the median survival time in nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)expression group was significantly shorter than that in negative NF-κB expression group(26 vs.131 months)(P<0.01).The median survival time in stageⅠ(98 months)and stage Ⅱ(121 months)was significantly longer than that in stage Ⅱ E+Ⅳ(33 months)(P<0.01).By multivariate COX regression analysis.FOXP1 nuclear expression and clinical stage were independently prognostic factom. Conclusion FOXP1 expression may be used as a biomarker for the assessment of malignant transformation to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)and predicting prognosis.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1993;31(3):392-396
Persistent burning and derythema were present for 10 months cin he lower lip of a 55-year-old woman, who had extreme melalignment of the anterior maxillary teeth. Candida albicans was identified not only from the surface material of the lower lip but also from tl.e malaigned dental cleft, which was thought to be the source of the organisms. We feel that the impor.ance of malaligned theeth as a source of candida albicans miist be kept in mind when we face persis ent cheilitis in a patient whose teeth arrangement is bad.
