1.Kawasaki disease and allergic diseases

Kawasaki disease (KD) is one of the most common causes of acquired heart disase in children,the development of which is closely related to the allergic diseases.Recent studies have manifested that the incidence of allergic diseases in children with KD is far higher than that in those children without KD.Meanwhile,the morbidity of KD in allergic children is significantly higher than that in those who do not have family medical history of allergic diseases.By far,the mechanisms causing interaction between KD and allergic diseases still remain unclear.Possible mechanisms include IgE-meditated immune response,release of large quantity of cytokines and inflammatory meditators as well as atopic family history.
2.Progress in the role of steroids in Kawasaki disease therapy

Kawasaki disease(KD) is the most common reason for acquired heart disease in children,which is closely related to autoimmune response and the release of cytokines in vascular endothelial cells.Steroids are strongly effective in countering inflammation as well as immune response.In the time of being,it has become a hot spot that steroids play an important role in the initial treatment for acute KD and for incomplete and refractory KD.
3.Observation of Tianwang Buxin Decoction in the Treatment of Heart Yin Deficiency Type of Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Objective] To observe the clinical effects of Tianwang Buxin decoction in the treatment of heart Yin deficiency type of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. [Methods] 63 patients with Generalized Anxiety Disorder(heart Yin deficiency type) were randomly divided into three groups: Tianwang Buxin decoction group, paroxetine group, Tianwang Buxin decoction combined paroxetine group, course of treatment for 8weeks.Contrast the scores of three groups by HAMA before and after treatment. [Results] The clinical efficacy was almost the same among the three groups without significant difference, but the decrease of HAMA scores of Tianwang Buxin decoction combined paroxetine group was obviously lower than Tianwang Buxin decoction group and paroxetine group(P<0.05), among which, TCM group and combination group of TCM and WM had less side effect than WM group. [Conclusion]The clinical efficacy of Tianwang Buxin decoction group is almost the same with the paroxetine group without significant difference. The clinical efficacy of Tianwang Buxin decoction combined paroxetine group is more significant.
4.Surgical Treatment and Prognostic Analysis in Patients with Malignant Thymoma

Objective: To observe the clinical outcome of surgical treatment for malignant thymoma,and evaluate the prognostic factors thereof. Mothods:All patients (63 eases)were operated and followed by radiotherapy. The Logistie regression analysis was used for the relationship between the prognosis, Masaoka staging,L/B pathology ,and the differences of the operation given.Rosults:Patients with early Masaoka stage and who received radical resection of thymoma had higher 3 and 5 year survival rates (P<0.05).The radiotherapy after surgery was related to 3 and 5 year survival rates. The differences of L/B pathology was not related to 3 and 5 year survival rates.Conclusion :The survival rate is enhanced for patients with malignant thymoma when both surgical and radiotherapy intervention axe given as early as possible.The Masaoka staging, not L/B pathology, is closely related to the prognosis.
5.Clinical Observation on Needling Tendon for Cervical Spondylosis Causing Vertebral Artery Insufficiency

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of needling tendon for cervical spondylosis causing vertebral artery insufficiency. Methods: Thirty-eight cases with cervical spondylosis causing vertebral artery insufficiency were treated by needling the cervical tendon for one-course treatment. After treatment, the vertebrobasilar blood flow was observed. Results: The vertebrobasilar blood flow of the patients was substantially improved. The total effective rate and marked effect rate were 100.0% and 68.4% respectively. Conclusion: Needling the cervical tendon can obtain an exact effect for cervical spondylosis causing vertebral artery insufficiency.

7.A STUDY ON THE HUMAN INTRACEREBRAL SEGMENTS OF THE CENTRAL BRANCH OF THE MIDDLE CEREBRAL ARTERY

The origin, diameter, arrangement pattern, distribution and microvascular architecture of the intracerebral segments(IS) of the central branches of the middle cerebral artery(MCA) were examined and pictured in 27(10 infants, 5 newborns, 12 fetuses) unfixed brains under stereoscopic microscope and scanning electron microscope. 1. The extracerebral segments(ES) of the central branches run toward the anterior perforated substance in S-shaped curves. The IS arise from ES or their collateral branches. They form the fan-shaped appearance in rostromedial and caudolateral state after entering brain. 2. The IS give rise collateral branches in right or acute angles, and they are of two kinds: the longitudinal and the transverse branches. The mean diameter of the IS in original site is 0.21?0.18mm for the medial group; 0.36?1 0.21mm for the lateral group. 3. The medial group mainly distribute in the rostal part of the internal capsule and basal nucleus; the lateral group mainly distribute in the caudal part. 4. Some circular impressions of the precaillary sphincters were observed at the beginning of precapillary arteriole and capillary, converging point of tributary branches of venule. The relationship between the IS of the central branches and the hemodynamics was discussed.

9.The effect of TGF-?_1 on expression of paxillin in human renal proximal tubular epithelial cell line

Objective To explore the effect of transforming growth factor ?_1 (TGF-?_1) on expression of paxillin(Pax) in human kidney proximal tubular epithelial cell line (HKC cells) in different phases. Methods HKC cells cultured in vitro were divided into four groups at random. Control group(C group): HKC cells were cultured with serum free medium (FSM), and TGF-?_1-treated groups (T1, T2, T3 group): HKC cells were cultured with FSM containing 10ng/ml TGF-?_1. In the latter groups, duration of treatment varied as follows: T1 group for 24h, T2 group for 48h, T3 group for 72h. The proliferation of HKC cells induced by TGF-?_1 was assessed by MTT and the expression of Pax was determined. The gene expression of Pax was determined by reverse transcripton polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and the protein expression of Pax was assessed by immunohistochemical staining and Western blot. Results TGF-?_1 could induce the proliferation of HKC cells in a time-dependent manner. In C group there was expression of Pax mRNA and protein in HKC cells. 10.Human kidney proximal tubular epithelial cell line expresses paxillin induced by TGF-?_1

Objective To investigate the expression of Paxillin (Pax) in human kidney proximal tubular epithelial cell line (HKC) induced by transforming growth factor ?1(TGF?1). Methods HKC cells cultured in vitro were divided into three groups at random: control group(C): cultured with free serum medium(FSM), TGF?1-treated groups (T1 and T2): cultured with FSM containing different concentrations of TGF?1 (T1: 5 ng/ml, T2: 10 ng/ml).
