In this study we deliberated over the principles and methods and then took the noninvasive continuous measurement of blood glucose concentration through the skin of rabbits. The glucose oxidase sensor was made by covalent immobilization. The best making method of sensor and stable working condition were sifted. Ten female and 10 male adult white rabbits were allocated into the groups of the ante-ultrasound and post-ultrasound, the injection of glucose, and the high and low frequency ultrasounds. After the skin surface was treated by high or low frenquency ultrasound for 5 minutes on the rabbits, obvious changes (P < 0.01) of post-ultrasound and post-injection of glucose were observed by means of glucose oxidase sensor and microcurrent apparatus. After application of ultrasound to the skin of rabbits, the penetration of glucose through the rabbit skin increased obviously. The change of microcurrent signal that was exchanged by the glucose sensor correlated positively with the concentration of glucose of rabbit body. The blood glucose can be tested by the glucose sensor on the skin surface of living animal.

Chinese Journal of Pathology 2018;47(7):536-541
Objective:
To investigate the clinicopathologic features, immunophenotype, pathological diagnosis and treatment of malignant mixed tumor (MMT).
Methods:
Clinical and pathological features including immunohistochemical phenotypes were analyzed in a case of MMT accompanied with eccrine porocarcinoma (EP) involving both hands, diagnosed definitely in January 2018 along with review of relevant literature.
Results:
A 64-year-old man presented with multiple rash on both hands for 4 years. Three lesions of 0.5 to 2.2 cm were removed for pathological evaluation. The pathological changes on little finger of left and right hands were MMT with EP, whereas that removed from the right ring finger was EP. MMT showed infiltrative growth with vascular wall invasion and consisted of epithelial (glandular or tube differentiation) and mesenchymal components (mucinous and/or cartilage stroma). The endothelial cells showed moderate to severe cytological atypia, nuclear pleomorphism and increased mitotic activity. The glandular component had histological characteristics of syringocarcinoma with moderately atypical chondrocytes but without myoepithelium. EP was composed of basal cells with visible vacuoles in cytoplasm and the presence of tubular and squamous differentiation, along with obvious atypia. Immunohistochemically cavosurface epithelium of glandular differentiation of MMT showed positivity for CK7, EMA and CD117. Myoepithelium showed S-100, CK5/6 and p63 positivity and stromal cells were positive for S-100. Differential diagnoses included metaplastic carcinoma, malignant myoepithelioma and atypical mixed tumor of skin.
Conclusions
MMT with EP is extremely rare. The diagnosis of MMT depends on the morphologic features. Immunohistochemical staining is helpful for differential diagnosis. Surgical excision with safety margins is the treatment of choice. Complementary radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy is still controversial. The clinical course of MMT is deemed unpredictable and long-term follow-up is necessary.

Objective:To observe the changes of peripheral blood T cell subsets and serum tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6 contents in narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) patients and their correlations with narcolepsy, and provide basis for finding the biological markers of narcolepsy. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed. From March 2022 to December 2023, 23 patients with NT1 admitted to Epilepsy and Sleep Disorder Center, Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University and 23 healthy controls underwent physical examination of nervous system in our center were enrolled. T lymphocyte subsets CD4 + and CD8 + in peripheral blood were calculated by flow cytometry. Serum TNF-α and IL-6 contents were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to determine the correlations of NT1 with CD4 + T lymphocyte count and IL-6 and TNF-α contents, and diagnostic values of CD4 + T lymphocyte and TNF-α in NT1 were evaluated via area under receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve. Results:Compared with the healthy controls, the NT1 patients had significantly increased peripheral blood CD4 + T lymphocyte count ([820.61±316.87] /μL vs. [1121.04±387.47] /μL), and significantly higher serum TNF-α and IL-6 contents ([39.97±10.64] pg/mL vs. [57.01±19.92] pg/mL; [22.50±6.09] pg/mL vs. [33.66±17.28] pg/mL, P<0.05). No significant difference in peripheral blood CD8 + T lymphocyte count was noted between the 2 groups ([668.65±276.45] pg/mL vs. [592.52±217.78] pg/mL, P>0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression showed that CD4 + T lymphocyte count and serum TNF-α content were independent risk factors for NT1 ( OR=1.004, 95% CI: 1.001-1.006, P=0.007; OR=1.133, 95% CI: 1.032-1.243, P=0.009). Area under ROC curve of the two combined indexes was 0.881(95% CI: 0.784-0.977, P=0.001), enjoying sensitivity of 0.783 and specificity of 0.870. Conclusion:Combination of peripheral blood CD4 + T lymphocyte count and serum TNF-α content has high diagnostic performance in predicting NT1.
