Thermometry of body by a contact temperature or thermal imaging analysis by infrared radiation (IR)is a routine method in clinical application. Twelve cerebrovascular disease patients and some patients who suffered from joint inflammation,nerve inflammation were examined.The result made clear that the method and the instrument is adaptable to simple and reliable thermal diagnosis for the discovery and premonition of different kinds of diseases and their course and tendency.

Objective To discuss the role of nucleic acid test(NAT)in blood screening to provide the scientific basis for the se-lection of blood screening strategies.Methods The serological detection and NAT were simultaneously performed on 68 662 speci-mens of voluntary blood donation from January 2012 to April 2013;29 samples of HBV DNA positive with serological HBsAg nega-tive were performed the serum HBV markers detection.Partial samples of anti-HIV antibody positive were sent to CDC for conduc-ting the confirmation test.Results Among 68 662 samples,120 cases of single NAT positive were detected out,the residual risk of blood transfusion was 0.175%.In the serum HBV markers detection,the mode of HBcAb was predominant.11 cases of HIV posi-tive were confirmed and all were the NAT positive samples.Conclusion NAT can reduce the residual risk of blood transfusion,en-sure the safety of blood transfusion.NAT and the serological detection are mutual complementation and not replaced by each other. The suitable screening strategy shold be selected.

BACKGROUND: Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) promotes neurite outgrowth from neocortical explants, and supports neuronal survival under serum-free condition. Thus, HGF can mediate neurotrophic function as a novel neurotrophic factor.OBJECTIVE: To establish an in vitro injury model with a semi-solid culture system for the purpose of improving the evaluation of neurite regeneration of transected spinal cord neurons from rat embryo, and investigate the effect of HGF on neurite regeneration.DESIGN: Randomized controlled study.SETTING: Hematology Laboratory of Radian Medical Institute of Academy of Military Medical Sciences of PLA.MATERIALS: The experiment was carried out at the Hematology Laboratory of Radian Medical Institute of Academy of Military Medical Sciences of PLA from August 2004 to May 2005. Wistar fetal rats of 14-16 days old were provided by Animal Center of Academy of Military Medical Sciences of PLA. Tail collagen was extracted from adult male Wistar rats with body mass of (250±50) g.METHODS: ① Rat tail type Ⅰ collagen substrate was prepared and spread on a culture dish, cut into about 0.5-1.0 mm3 slices, then spinal cord slices of 15-day-old fetal Wistar rat were explanted on the primary culture. Five days later, the outgrowing processes were severed, then a block of collagen, with the surface area of 2 mm2 and 200 μm away from the slice, was removed and the vacancy was replaced with a fresh collagen block of 2 μL after aspirating the medium. The fresh collagen block could be solidified and then fresh liquid medium was added as the secondary culture. The regeneration of neurite was observed by microscopy at 0, 1, 6,12 and 24 hours after severing. ② The medium was changed with 0.5% N3-conditioned medium. 10 μg/L HGF was added in the experimental group, and 0.5% N3-conditioned medium was added in the control group.The status of regeneration was evaluated by the average value of 3 longest regenerative neurites for each slice. There were 12 slices in each group.The status of neurite regeneration was calculated and was evaluated 24 hours later.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① neurite regeneration in situ; ②comparisons of neurite regeneration between control group and experimental group.RESULTS: ① Neurite regeneration in situ: The neurites disintegrated near the severing line immediately following the transection injury. This process persisted about 1-2 hours and the distance away from the severing line was about 20 μm. Then the proximal end of neurites would swell and thicken. At this time neurites stopped collapsing and neurite regeneration began. Their regenerating rate would quicken at 12 hours after severing. Regenerating neurites were more branching and curlier as compared with original neurites. ② Comparisons of neurite regeneration between control group and experimental group: The average length of regenerative neurites was more in the experimental group than that in the control group [(375±96) μm, (200±75) μm, P ＜ 0.05].CONCLUSION: ① We establish a simple, economic model to evaluate neurite regeneration. ② By this model, we prove that HGF can promote neurite regeneration.

The present circuit was designed to apply to human tissue impedance tuning and matching device in ultra-short wave treatment equipment. In order to judge if the optimum status of circuit parameter between energy emitter circuit and accepter circuit is in well syntony, we designed a high frequency envelope detect circuit to coordinate with automatic adjust device of accepter circuit, which would achieve the function of human tissue impedance matching and tuning. Using the sampling coil to receive the signal of amplitude-modulated wave, we compared the voltage signal of envelope detect circuit with electric current of energy emitter circuit. The result of experimental study was that the signal, which was transformed by the envelope detect circuit, was stable and could be recognized by low speed Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) and was proportional to the electric current signal of energy emitter circuit. It could be concluded that the voltage, transformed by envelope detect circuit can mirror the real circuit state of syntony and realize the function of human tissue impedance collecting.

Objective To explore the protective effect of HGF on primary cultured spinal neurons in vitro.Methods Cultured neurons were transfected with Ad-GFP or Ad-HGF in different multiplicity of infection(MOI),then flow cytometer and PI-Hoechst double stains were used to assay transfer rate or to determine the status of cells respectively.ELISA was used to detect the expression of HGF in Ad-HGF transfected neurons,and the activity of neurons was judged by neutral red stain,MTT and NSE-ELISA methods.Results After transfection with Ad-GFP in MOI of 50,the transfer rate was high as detected by flow cytometer,and the status of cells was well as judged by PI-Hoechst double stain.The results of ELISA showed that HGF was expressed in medium.After transfection with Ad-HGF,the activity of neurons was better than neurons without treatment(P

Objective To compare the effect of pedicles screw fixation through entry point of the “人" shape crest and traditional entry point (Weinstein method). Methods Ninety-two patients of lumbar spine disorders were treated by pedicles screw fixation combined with bone grafting through posterior approach. The screws were placed through the traditional entry point among 45 patients (group A, transverse process method, 186 screws), the others were through entry point of the “人" shape crest (group B, “人" shape crest method, 196 screws). The condition of accuracy of screw placement, operation time, bleeding amount and injury were compared. Results All patients accepted the examination of X-ray and CT scan after operation. The rate of screw bad placement was 6.5% in group A and 2.0% in group B, the incidence of injury of nerve and blood vessel was 8.9% in group A and 2.1% in group B. ObjectiveTo explore the characteristics of and regularities in the application of points for acupuncture treatment of diabetes in clinical literature.MethodOne hundred and two pieces of clinical literature on acupuncture treatment for diabetes published from 1998 to 2013 were sorted out, sifted, entered and statistically analyzed using modern computer and data mining technology to summarize the characteristics of and regularities in the application of acupoints in the literature.ResultSanyinjiao was the most frequently used point for acupuncture treatment of diabetes (68). Two points[Pishu(BL20)and Shenshu(BL23)], three points[Pishu, Shenshu andSanyinjiao(SP6); Weiwanxiashu(Ex-B3), Pishu and Shenshu], four points[Zusanli(ST36),Pishu, Shenshu and Sanyinjiao]and five points[Zusanli, Pishu, Shenshu, Weiwanxiashu and Sanyinjiao]were the most frequently used point combinations. The most frequently used meridian was the Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang (260). The selected points were distributed on the back and the lower limb. The proportion of used specific points reached 74.5%. Five Shu points and Back-Shu points were used most frequently. The proportion of using manual acupuncture was 57.6%. Treatments with the cooperation of Dietary control and exercise conditioning accounted for 64.4%.ConclusionAcupuncture treatment of diabetes is mainly based on regulating the middle Jiao, with the upper Jiao and the lower Jiao taken into account. Specific points are the main part of point combinations. Manual acupuncture is the main treatment and meanwhile, attention is paid to adjusting life style.

Objective To explore small size toe tissue flap for aesthetic reconstruction of the thumb and / or finger. Methods Six kinds of small size toe tissue transplants had been applied in repairing skin-bone-joint composite tissue defects of the thumb or finger in 74 cases. Results Among 83reconstructed flaps of the 74 patients, 81 flaps survived completely. Follow-up examination made three to forty-eight months postoperatively showed that the outward appearance were excellent in most cases. The function of the thumbs or fingers were good. The donor feet can walk normally with no pain. Conclusion A variable combinations of toe tissues including skin, soft tissue, bone and joint can be harvested to form a lot of small size transplants for refined aesthetic reconstruction of thumb and finger. The functional and aesthetic results are good and the treatment course is shortened.

Rhubarb anthraquinone derivatives (AQs) have been documented to have both therapeutic and toxic effect on liver and kidney, leading to a complex puzzle to assess their benefits and risks. In this study, the tissue distributions of AQs in SD rats after orally administrated extracts of raw and prepared rhubarb were examined whether they undergo different uptake. The total rhubarb extract (14.49 g x kg(-1) of body weight per day od, counted on the quantity of crude material) was administrated orally for 12 weeks. The concentrations of the AQs in different tissues were quantified by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The five major AQs, aloe-emodin, rhein, emodin, chrysophynol and physcion, could all be detected in the liver, kidney and spleen, while only rhein, aloe-emodin and emodin reached the quantitative limit. The tissue concentrations of AQs in raw rhubarb group were higher than that in steamed rhubarb group with rhein > emodin > aloe-emodin in the same tissue. On the whole, the tissue distribution of rhein was higher than that of emodin and aloe-emodin in liver, spleen and kidney. AQs could not be detected in those tissues after drug withdraw for 4 weeks, which suggested scarcely any accumulative toxicity of rhubarb. The result indicated that raw rhubarb had more tissue toxicity than steamed rhubarb and rhein may be one of the major poisonous ingredients. The results were concordant with the traditional Chinese medicine theory of toxicity-attenuating effect of processing.

TheMeridian and Acupoint Science is a basic course in the major of acupuncture-moxibustion and tuina. We applied target-guided teaching method in teaching this course to evoke student's interest in studyingMeridian and Acupoint Science through initiative guidance, and boost student's initiative and enthusiasm by exhibiting the teaching targets. During the practice, we emphasized the specification of each unit target, around which we adopted various methods; meanwhile, we also focused on prompt evaluation, based on which necessary adjustments would be made to approach the targets. Teachers should act as guider, maintainer and promoter in class, rather than transmitter, to help students to study positively rather than passively listen. Via this kind of teaching reform, students not only obtained knowledge, but also enhanced their capability and feelings.
