Objective To investigate the effects of forced-air prewarming combined with fluid warming on body temperature and thermal comfort in patients undergoing lobectomy. Methods Forty six patients scheduled for video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) of lobectomy were randomized into two groups (n=23 each):warming group (group T) and the control group (group C).Forced-air prewarming combined with infusion heating was applied in the warming group, while only conventional passive warming was used in control group. The tympanic membrane temperatures were recorded before prewarming, after prewarming, during the anesthesia, the end of operation, the moment in and out of the postanesthesia care unit (PACU).Incidence of postoperative shivering, thermal comfort and the time in the PACU were recorded. Results The warming group had a slower temperature decrease at 1,2, 3 hours after operation and end of operation(P< 0.01), warming group had significantly lower incidence of hypothermia and shivering than control group(8.7% vs 56.5%, 4.3% vs 34.8%,P<0.05),and the thermalcomfort score was higher in warming group than in control group(8.52±0.94 vs 7.65±0.83,P<0.05).Conclusions Forced-air prewarming combined with fluid warming has significant clinical effects to stabilize patients` body temperature during operations,to reduce the incidence of hypothermia and shivering and to improve the thermal comfort, which provides a simple and effective temperature protection strategy for patients undergoing lobectomy.

Objective To translate and evaluate the reliability and validity of Chinese version of Nursing Student Self-Efficacy Scale. Methods A total of 212 nursing students in practice were recruited and completed the questionnaire survey including Chinese version of Nursing Student Self-Efficacy Scale and General Self-Efficacy Scale. Results The fitness of confirmatory factor analysis neither in intersectant model nor in orthogonal model were not good.Chinese revised version of Nursing Student Self-Efficacy Scale was formed based on the exploratory factor analysis. The three factors could explain 67.7% variance of self-efficacy and the loading of all items was above 0.6.The correlation coefficient between the total score and three factors of revised NSSES and GSES was 0.570,0.427,0.582,and 0.480 respectively. The fitness of revised NSSES confirmatory factor of intersectant model, orthogonal model, and modified intersectant model were also not satisfying. Conclusions Although the reliability and the criterion-related validity of revised Chinese version of Nursing Student Self-Efficacy Scale were satisfying, the construct validity was not good and the further revision concerning on the task description and item response grade was required before applying for the internal measurement.

OBJECTIVE To validate the anticancer effect of Angong Niuhuang pill (AGNH) and pinpoint associated molecular mechanisms using human cancer cells.METHODS Human MGC-803 gastric carcinoma and human BEL-7402 hepatocarcinoma cells were incubated with AGNH 9,30,90,300 and 900 mg·L-1 for 24,48and 72 h,respectively.Cell viability was detected with 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl) -5-( 3-carboxymethoxyphe-nyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS) assay and colony formation assay.Apoptosis was measured with flow cytometry and Hoechst 33258/PI staining.Change in mitochondrial membrane potential (△qψ) was detected by spectrofluorophotometer.RESULTS AGNH inhibited MGC-803 cell proliferation ( for 48 h,r =0.996,P =0.002; for72 h,r=0.756,P=0.024 ) and BEL-7402 cells (for 48 h,r =0.732,P=0.030; for72 h,r=0.702,P =0.037) in a concentration-dependent manner,as showed by MTS assay.AGNH inhibited colony formation on MGC-803 cells (r =0.914,P =0.011 ) and BEL-7402 cells (r =0.871,P =0.024) in a concentration-dependent manner for 24 h.Hoechst 33258/PI staining and flow cytometry assay showed that AGNH 900 mg·L-1 for 24 h induced apoptosis of MGC-803 and BEL-7402 cells, and the apoptosis rate was 27.2% and 19.7%,respectively.Compared with normal control group,AGNH 900 mg·L-1 for 3 min decreased the mitochondrial membrane potential of MGC-803 and BEL-7402 cells to 15.9% and 15.0% of control group.CONCLUSION AGNH inhibits proliferation of human cancer cells.Apoptosis and depolarization of mitochondrial transmembrane potential are probablly its mechanism.

Airway inflammation in atopic asthma is characterized by T -cell activation, leading to the release of certain cytokines. In this study the IL-2 activity and IL-2 mRNA express in the lymphocytes in guinea pigs with OVA -induced bronchial asthma was measured. It was found that eosinophils and lymphocytes were predominant cells in the peritoneal lavage fluid and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) in asthmatic guinea pigs. Compared with contol group, the IL-2 activities in lymphocytes from the BALF (22.56? 2.44 ng/ml vs 14.23 ?4.71ng/ml, P

Objective:To find related polypeptides which could bind interleukin (IL) 5 with high affinity. Methods:The recombinant human IL 5 was biotinylated with NSH LC Biotin, then biotinylated IL 5 was used to react with random peptide library displaying 7 amino acids fused on protein III of M13 Phage for three rounds biopanning. The selected clones were assayed by sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and competition ELISA.The positive clones with high affinity were used for automated sequencing with dye labeled dideoxynucleotides, and the amino acid sequence of polypeptide displayed on phage was deduced. Results:The enrichment was shown by ELISA after 3 rounds of biopanning.9 positive clones could bind to IL 5 with high affinity.Sequencing of the genes encoding these peptides on 9 positive clones showed some conserved epitope information such as SX 1 2 AS,ALAS.Conclusion:Potential polypeptides binding IL 5 with high affinity could be selected from phage display peptide library,SX 1 2 AS may be the motifs recognized by IL 5.
