Objective To investigate wether bronchial epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT)take part in airway remodling in asthmatic mice, and the effect of inhaled glucocorticoid to it. Methods Thirty BALB /c mice were randomly divided into control group(n =10),asthma group(n =10) and budesonide group(n =10).The qualitity of serum OVA-sIgE was measured to vertify asthma modle. Bronchial airway thickness collagen deposition area was analyzed by HE and Masson staining to test the level of airway remodling.ELISA was used to test the quantity of transforming growth factor(TGF)-βin bron-choalveolar lavage fluid(BALF).Immunohistochemical assay was used to observe fibroblast specific protein-1 (FSP-1 )expressing area.Western blot and realtime PCR were performed to analyze the protein and mRNA expression of E-caderin,Vimentin and FSP-1 .Results The expression of OVA-sIgE,bronchial airway thick-ness,the collagen deposition area were significantly higher in asthma group than those in control group, while the above index in BUD group were allivated compared to those in asthma group(P <0.01 ,respectively). The expression of TGF-βin BALF increased and the expression of FSP-1 located in bronchial epithlium, the quantity of E-caderin significantly decreased, and the quantity of Vimentin and FSP-1 increased by Western blot and realtime PCR in asthma group, compared to those in control group(P <0.01 ).While the level of E-caderin increased(P <0.01 ),TGF-βand Vimentin reduced partly in BUD group(P <0.05 ),and there was no differece in the level of FSP-1 between BUD group and asthma group(P >0.05).Conclusion Lung tissue EMT take part in airway remodling of asthma, which is mainly focus on bronchial epithlium. The effect of traditional inhaled budesonide can not heal the bronchial EMT in asthma.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore the significance of 8F-FDG PET-CT in the diagnosis of the recurrence and metastasis of head-and-neck tumor after definitive treatment.
METHOD:
Forty-two patients having received definitive treatment for head-and-neck tumor of whom the tumor could not be identified clinically underwent 18F-FDG PET-CT examination. Follow-up data could be obtained for all foci identified on PET-CT images. PET-CT and CT accuracy was compared on the basis of follow-up and histopathologic findings.
RESULT:
A total of 103 foci were noted on PET-CT images. Identified by follow-up data, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 92.55%, 42.11% and 84.07% respectively for CT examination, and 100.00%, 52.63%, and 92.04% for PET-CT respectively. The sensitivity and accuracy of PET-CT were significantly higher than those of CT (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), whereas the difference in specificity between the results of these two groups was not significant (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSION
The major benefits of FDG PET were that it differentiates scar and relapse, as well as detects LN and distant metastasis. Detailed clinical information and inclusion of results of morphological diagnostics are prerequisites for PET-CT final image interpretation, while scans should not be performed less than 6 weeks after definitive treatment.

Objective:
To summarize the status of immediate breast reconstruction (IBR) after mastectomy in Beijing City, Tianjin City and Hebei Province.
Methods:
A retrospective analysis was made on the data of 382 cases with breast cancer who were treated and followed up successfully with immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy from January 2012 to December 2016 in Beijing City, Tianjin City and Hebei Province. Clinic data of the followed-up 382 cases (all female, age (38.5±4.2) years (range: 24 to 70 years)), including general information, tumor information, sugery methods, and treatments after surgery were collected. The survival status, metastasis, complications and prognosis were followed up. Cosmetic effcet was evalated by Harris method, and life quality by Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast scale (FACT-B). χ2 test was used to compare the difference between year 2012 and year 2013 to 2016. Bonferroni method was used to correct the inspection level, which was 0.05/10=0.005. The trend of IBR rate (ratio of IBR to modified radical mastectomy) from 2013 to 2016 was analyzed by trend χ2 test.
Results:
There was 46 cases in stage 0, 152 cases in stage Ⅰ, 165 cases in stage Ⅱ, 19 cases in stage Ⅲ. Twenty-five cases was treated by neoadjuvant chemotherapy, 231 by chemotherapy and 35 by radiotherapy. The proportion of implant reconstruction was 48.7% (186/382), more than expanded of 21.5% (82/382), with latissimus dorsi of 12.0% (46/382), TRAM of 8.9% (34/382), DIEP of 2.1% (8/382), and latissimus plus implant of 6.8% (26/382). According to the Harris standard, the excellent and good rate of the cosmetic effect of the reconstructed breast was 93.7%. The score of FACT-B was 108.20±16.9 (range: 67 to 144) 1 year postoperatively. Compared with 2012, the IBR rate was significant increased, till 2015, the IBR rate was 153/10 000 cases (χ2=47.028,

Early weaned piglets suffer from oxidative stress and enteral infection, which usually results in gut microbial dysbiosis, serve diarrhea, and even death. Rice bran oil (RBO), a polyphenol-enriched by-product of rice processing, has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties both in vivo and in vitro. Here, we ascertained the proper RBO supplementation level, and subsequently determined its effects on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced intestinal dysfunction in weaned piglets. A total of 168 piglets were randomly allocated into four groups of seven replicates (42 piglets each group, (21±1) d of age, body weight (7.60±0.04) kg, and half males and half females) and were given basal diet (Ctrl) or basal diet supplemented with 0.01% (mass fraction) RBO (RBO1), 0.02% RBO (RBO2), or 0.03% RBO (RBO3) for 21 d. Then, seven piglets from the Ctrl and the RBO were treated with LPS (100 μg/kg body weight (BW)) as LPS group and RBO+LPS group, respectively. Meanwhile, seven piglets from the Ctrl were treated with the saline vehicle (Ctrl group). Four hours later, all treated piglets were sacrificed for taking samples of plasma, jejunum tissues, and feces. The results showed that 0.02% was the optimal dose of dietary RBO supplementation based on diarrhea, average daily gain, and average daily feed intake indices in early weaning piglets. Furthermore, RBO protected piglets against LPS-induced jejunal epithelium damage, which was indicated by the increases in villus height, villus height/crypt depth ratio, and Claudin-1 levels, as well as a decreased level of jejunal epithelium apoptosis. RBO also improved the antioxidant ability of LPS-challenged piglets, which was indicated by the elevated concentrations of catalase and superoxide dismutase, and increased total antioxidant capacity, as well as the decreased concentrations of diamine oxidase and malondialdehyde in plasma. Meanwhile, RBO improved the immune function of LPS-challenged weaned piglets, which was indicated by elevated immunoglobulin A (IgA), IgM, β-defensin-1, and lysozyme levels in the plasma. In addition, RBO supplementation improved the LPS challenge-induced dysbiosis of gut microbiota. Particularly, the indices of antioxidant capacity, intestinal damage, and immunity were significantly associated with the RBO-regulated gut microbiota. These findings suggested that 0.02% RBO is a suitable dose to protect against LPS-induced intestinal damage, oxidative stress, and jejunal microbiota dysbiosis in early weaned piglets.
