Nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly used drugs in the world, but their use is limited because of their propensity to cause many severe adverse reactions. Cyclooxygenase 2 (COX 2) not only take part in inflammatory reaction, but also exert various physiological functions. Selective COX 2 inhibitors still have a series of adverse reactions. COX 3, a new COX cloned and expressed recently, can be inhibited selectively by acetaminophen and do not relate to inflammation. A hypothesis about COX family is assumed and seven isoforms are supposed in this article.
3.Hepatectomy combined with intraarterial and intraportal chemotherapy for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma

Objective To evaluate irregular hepatectomy combined with removal of tumor thrombi, postoperative hepatic artery chemotherapy(HAC) and portal vein chemotherapy (PVC) for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombi (PVTT). Methods From Jan. 1987 to Dec. 1996, 62 HCC cases with PVTT underwent the combined therapy. Among them HAC and PVC were given in 40 cases. 59 patients were followed up for over 3 years. Results 6 cases died of postoperative hepatic and renal failure in 3 months. Recurrent rate and survival rate at 1, 2, 3 year was 46%(18/39), 59%(23/39),79%(31/39)and 69%(27/39),51%(20/39), 31%(12/39) respectively in group of combined HAC and PVC compared with 80%(16/20),90%(18/20),100%(20/20)and 30%(6/20),10%(2/20), 5%(1/20)in group without postoperative HAC and PVC. Conclusions Irregular hepatectomy with removal of tumor thrombi is an effective treatment for HCC with PVTT. Postoperative use of HAC and PVC significantly reduces the recurrence rate and improves survival.
4.Expression of Nitric Oxide Synthase 3 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

【Objective】To investigate the expression of nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).【Methods】The expression of NOS3 and VEGF were detected by immunohistochemistry in 51 cases of HCC.【Results】The positive of NOS3 and VEGF in HCC were 53% and 63%.The expression rate of NOS3 in the recurrent group was significantly higher than that in the non-recurrent group (P<0.01).The expression rates of VEGF in the group with carcinoma embolus of portal vein and the recurrent group were significantly higher than those in the group without carcinoma embolus and non-recurrent group (P<0.05).The expression of NOS3 was closely related with the expression of VEGF positively in HCC.【Conclusions】NOS3 and VEGF are related with the biological behavior of HCC closely.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of ERC61,an extract from Rhizoma Curcumae on hematopoietic functions of mice pretreated by cyclophosphamide(CTX) and the proper regime of the administration of ERC61.METHODS:The experimental mice were treated with CTX(100mg? kg-1? d-1) by ip for 3 consecutive days to establish leucopenia model.ERC61 was ip administered to the prevention group,the treatment group,and the combined group(prevention+ treatment).The numbers of blood leucocytes and bone marrow cell were counted by conventional methods;spleen index was measured as well.RESULTS:ERC61 enhanced the count of leucocytes and nucleated cells in bone marrow and improved the level of spleen index.CONCLUSION:ERC61 is able to improve the disorders of hematopoietic functions induced by CTX,and the combination therapy of prevention and treatment is the optimum one in efficacy.
7.Determination of Curdione in Nano-micelles Loaded with Curdione by UV-Vis Spectrophotometry

OBJECTIVE:To establish a UV-Vis spectrophotometric method for content determination of Curdione in Nano-micelles loaded with Curdione.METHODS:Curdione was colored by sulfuric acid-vanillin reagent.The absorbance was measured by visible-spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 500nm.RESULTS:The content of Curdione in the range of 0.050~ 0.400mg? mL-1 was in accordance with the Lambert-Beer law(r=0.999 3).The average recovery was 99.14%,and the RSD was 1.23%(n=9).CONCLUSION:This method is simple,accurate and suitable for the content determination of curdione in Nano-micelles loaded with Curdione.
8.Efficacy and safety of esomeprazole enteric coated capsules in the treatment of duodenal ulcer

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of esomeprazole enteric coated capsules in the treatment of duodenal ulcer.Methods52 cases of duodenal ulcer were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, 26 cases in each group.The control group was treated with omeprazole, the observation group was treated with esomeprazole enteric coated capsules, and the therapeutic effects of the two groups were evaluated.ResultsThe eradication rate of Helicobacter pylori in the observation group was 96.15% (25/26),which was significantly higher than the control group 80.76%(21/26)(P<0.05), and the clinical efficacy was better, had no serious adverse reactions.ConclusionEsomeprazole enteric coated capsules, can effectively help improve the symptoms of patients with duodenal ulcer, remove the Helicobacter pylori, and no serious adverse reaction, high safety.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the safety of Chitosan DCX-16elementarily.METHODS:DCX-16was injected i.p.to observe the acute toxicity in mice.The local irritating effects were observed on tolerance test,cerato-conjunctiva and muscles stimulus test in rabbits.The cell shape and proliferative rate of3T3cells were determinated by MTT in cell culture with DCX-16.RESULTS:It showed that DCX-16had no irritation on the eyes and muscles in rabbits.Tolerance dose of DCX-16in mice was as high as3.0g/kg per day.Cell culture with DCX-16demonstrated that3T3cell's shape and growth were normal.The relative growth rate of3T3cells had no statistical difference between control and DCX-16groups on the2nd,3rd,4th day.CONCLUSION:DCX-16is safe.
