1.Effect of Shen Tao Ruangan Pill for Postoperative Recurred Liver Cancer

【Objective】To investigate the therapeutic effect of Shen Tao Ruangan Pill(STRP) for postoperative recurred liver cancer by a randomized and controlled trial.【Methods】Forty patients with postoperative recurred liver cancer were equally randomized into groups A and B.The two groups received routine symptomatic treatment,and group A was additionally treated with STRP(mainly composed of Herba Artemisiae Scopariae,Herba Hedyotis Diffusae,Herba Scutellariae Barbatae,Rhizoma Curcumae,Semen Persicae,Radix Angelicae Sinensis,Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae,Radix Ginseng,Poria,Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis) and group B with Pingxiao Capsule.After 3-month treatment,the therapeutic effect was evaluated in the two groups.【Results】(1)After treatment,the symptoms were relieved in both of groups A and B,and group A had a better effect in relieving abdominal distention,anorexia and lassitude than group B(P0.05).(3) The non-progressive survival period was(172?11.64) days in group A and(143?10.95) days in group B;the survival rate within 3,6 and 10 months was 82.31%,70.42% and 50.33% in group A respectively,and 72.70%,65.70% and 46.33% in group B respectively;the median survival time was(203?20.87) days in group A and(167?19.58) days in group B,the difference being significant(P

OBJECTIVETo study the clinical and epidemiologic characteristics and the serum types of enterovirus of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in children.
METHODSThe RT-nPCR method was established with universal primers within 5' untranslated region of enterovirus and VP1 region of Coxsackievirus A16 (CAV16) and enterovirus 71 (EV 71). Enteroviruses were detected with RT-nPCR in 237 children with HFMD. Clinical and epidemiologic characteristics and serum types of enterovirus of the patients with HFMD were studied.
RESULTSThe patients'age ranged from 7 months to 11 years (mean 4.2 +/- 0.5 years). The majority (94.5%) were less than 6 years old. HFMD was mostly seen in spring and winter (67.9%). Oral mucosal pox or ulcer as well as hand and foot rashes were observed in all 237 patients. Fever occurred in 141 patients (59.5%). Of the 237 patients, 133 (56.1%) were RT-nPCR positive. Of the 133 cases, 38 were positive for EV71, 64 were positive for CAV16, and 31 were negative for both EV71 and CAV16. The patients infected by different types of enteroviruses had similar clinical characteristics. Gene colon and sequence analysis for 12 strains of enteroviruses PCR positive products presented as EV71 (n=5), CAV16 (n=5), ECHO13 (n=1), and CAV5 (n=1).
CONCLUSIONSHFMD tends to occur in younger children less than 6 years old. The majority are affected in spring and winter. EV71 and CAV16 are common pathogens of HFMD. There is no relationship between clinical characteristics and serum types of enteroviruses in HFMD patients.

Objective To explore the effects and mechanism of Shentao Ruangan Prescription on hepatocellular carcinoma.Methods MTT assay was used to detect the activity of Shentao Ruangan Prescription against HepG2 cells and the effects of PI3K/Akt/MAPK inhibitors(LY294002,Akti,MEKi,JNKi),apoptosis inhibitor(Z-VAD)and autophagy inhibitor(Wortmanin)in human hepatoma cells.),ferroptosis inhibitor(Ferrostatin-1)and cell necrosis inhibitor(Necrostatin-1)on the inhibition of HepG2 activity of human hepatoma cells by Shentao Ruangan Prescription.LDH method was used to detect the toxicity of Shentao Ruangan Prescription on HepG2 cells;Real-time PCR experiment tested the effect of Shentao Ruangan Prescription on the pyroptosis marker IL-1β in human hepatoma cells HepG2;Western blot experiment explored the effect of Shentao Ruangan Prescription on the Akt/ERK signaling pathway in human hepatoma HepG2 cells and the expression of Akt,ERK,P-ERK,the key proteins of apoptosis signaling pathway Caspase 3,PARP,Bcl2,Bax,and the expression of pyroptosis marker Cleavaged Caspase-1.Results Shentao Ruangan Prescription Can effectively inhibit the activity of human hepatoma HepG2 cells.LY294002,Wortmanin,Akti,MEKi,JNKi,Z-Vad,Ferrostatin-1,Necrostatin-1 had no significant effect on the inhibition of HepG2 activity by total extract(water extract),supernatant and precipitation.Shentao Ruangan Prescription promoted the release of LDH in human hepatoma HepG2 cells,causing cytotoxicity.It inhibited HepG2 pyroptosis markers in human hepatoma cells and the expression of IL-1β and Cleavaged Caspase-1 and decreased the protein expression of Akt in human hepatoma cells HepG2 but inversely increased Caspase3 protein expression.Conclusion Shentao Ruangan Prescription has the effect of inhibiting the activity of hepatocellular carcinoma cells and anti-hepatocellular carcinoma,and its mechanism may be related to inhibiting the expression of Akt and promoting the expression of Caspase3.At the same time,Shentao Ruangan Prescription reduces the expressions of IL-1β and Cleavaged Caspase-1,which may inhibit cell pyroptosis.The inhibitory effect of Shentao Ruangan Prescription on the activity of liver cancer cells is likely to be independent of programmed death modes such as autophagy and necrotizing apoptosis,and PI3K/Akt/MAPK signal transduction.The total extract of Shentao Ruangan Prescription has better anti-hepatoma activity than its water-soluble and alcohol-soluble components,and its water-soluble and alcohol-soluble components may have synergistic effect.
