Cancer Research and Clinic 2016;28(1):28-31
Objective To evaluate the expression of immunohistochemistry markers p53, p16 and Ki-67 in penile cancer and penile intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN). Methods 33 patients who suffered penile cancer and received organ-sparing surgery from Jan 2004 to Dec 2013 were retrospectively analysed. The expression of p53, p16 and Ki-67 were detected by EnVision/HRP two steps immunohistochemistry. Results The positive expression rates of p53 in normal penile epithelium, low-grate penile intraepithelial neoplasia, high-grate penile intraepithelial neoplasia, well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and poor-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma were 0, 16.7 %, 38.5 %, 30.0 % and 66.7 % respectively. The expression rates of p16 were 20.0 %, 50.0 %, 53.8 %, 70.0 % and 33.3 % respectively. The expression rates of Ki-67 were 0, 16.7 %, 61.5 %, 65.0 % and 75.0 % respectively. Conclusions The combined detection of p16 and Ki-67 can contribute to discover PIN and penile carcinoma much more earlier. p53 may be related to the occurrence and development of low differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, and p16 may be related to the occurrence and development of well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.
4.Recent Research in Role of CD4+CD25+Regulatory T Cell in Pathogenesis of Immune Thrombocytopenia
Tianjin Medical Journal 2014;(4):390-392
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), the most common hemorrhagic disease, is an organ-specific autoimmune disease characterized by decreased platelets count due to auto-antibodies mediating platelets destruction and insufficient platelets production. The etiology of ITP is still not completely known. Regulatory T cells, also called Tregs, are character-ized by CD4+CD25+, and positive of transcription factor forkhead box P3. They belong to a subpopulation of T cells special-ized for immune regulation and play an important role in maintaining the immune balance. Decreased production and defect-ed function of CD4+CD25+Treg was found not only in the ITP animal model but also in the ITP patients. It indicates that the Treg was involved in the pathology of ITP. This review focus on the characteristic and function of Tregs and their relationship with pathogenesis of ITP.
5.Effect of Penetrating Needling with Thick Needle at Shenzhu (GV 12) on the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale Score
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(9):827-828
Objective To observe the effect of penetrating needling with thick needle at Shenzhu (GB 12) on the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) score in patients with Parkinson’s Disease (PD). Methods Sixty-one PD patients were randomized into a treatment group of 31 cases and a control group of 30 cases. The treatment group was intervened by penetrating needling with thick needle at Shenzhu (GV 12) in addition to oral administration of Levodopa and Benserazide Hydrochloride;while the control group was by oral administration of Levodopa and Benserazide Hydrochloride alone. The UPDRS was evaluated before and after intervention in both groups. Results Respectively after 30-day treatment, 90-day treatment, and 90 d after the intervention, the UPDRS scores were significantly changed compared to that before intervention in both groups (P<0.01, P<0.05);there were also significant differences in comparing the UPDRS score between the two groups at each time point (P<0.01, P<0.05). Conclusions Penetrating needling with thick needle at Shenzhu (GV 12) can improve the UPDRS score in PD patients, and it’s an effective method in treating PD.
6.Therapeutic Observation of Thread-embedding at Scalp Points for Insomnia
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(5):418-420
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of thread-embedding at scalp points in treating insomnia.Method Sixty-four insomnia patients were randomized into a treatment group of 33 cases and a control group of 31 cases. The treatment group was intervened by thread-embedding at scalp points, while the control group was by orally taking Estazolam. Four weeks were taken as a treatment course, and the clinical efficacies and changes of indexes were measured after a treatment course.Result The total effective rate was 90.0% in the treatment group versus 90.3% in the control group, and the difference was statistically insignificant (P>0.05). The item scores of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were changed significantly after treatment in both groups (P<0.01). The changes of sleep latency and daily function disturbance in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Thread-embedding at scalp points and oral administration of Estazolam both can improve insomnia symptoms. Thread-embedding at scalp points is inferior to Estazolam in improving sleep latency but is superior to Estazolam in improving daily function.
7.Semen cassiae extract attenuates myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury in type 2 diabetic rats
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2015;(1):1-6
Objective Obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus ( T2DM) characterized by hyperglycemia are li-able to more severe myocardial infarction .Semen Cassiae is proved to reduce serum lipid level .This study was to investigate whether the Semen Cassiae extract (SCE) reduces myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R) injury with or without diabetes and the underlying mechanisms .Methods The high-fat diet-fed streptozotocin ( HFD-STZ) rat model was used as T2DM model.Normal and DM rats received SCE treatment orally (10 mg/kg/day) for 1 week.Subsequently these animals were subjected to MI /R.Results Compared with the normal animals , DM rats showed increased plasma total cholesterol ( TC) and triacylglycerol ( TG) , more severe MI/R injury and cardi-ac functional impairment .SCE treatment significantly reduced the plasma TC and TG , improved the instantaneous first derivation of left ventricle pressure and reduced infarct size , decreased plasma creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase levels, and reduced apoptosis index at the end of reperfusion in diabetic rats .Moreover, SCE treat-ment increased the antiapoptotic protein Akt and stimulated ERK 1/2 phosphorylation .Pretreatment with a PI3 K in-hibitor wortmannin or an ERK1/2 inhibitor PD98059 not only blocked Akt and ERK1/2 phosphorylation, but also inhibited the cardioprotective effects of SCE .However , SCE treatment did not show any effects on the MI/R injury in the normal rats. Conclusions SCE effectively improves myocardial function and reduces MI/R-induced injury in diabetic but not normal animals , which is potentially attributable to the reduced TC/TG levels and the triggered cell survival signaling Akt and ERK 1/2 .
