Objective To evaluate the clinical application of the whole blood interferon γ(IFN-γ) release assay of QuantiFERON TB Gold in tube (QFT-GIT) in diagnosis of tuberculosis. Methods From October 2014 to October 2015, 109 patients with tuberculosis (45 cases of confirmed patients and 64 cases of clinically diagnosed patients) and 70 patients with non-tuberculosis were enrolled in Tianjin Medical University General Hospital. In order to evaluate diagnosis value between two kinds of tests, and to compare the differences between two groups, QFT-GIT test and colloidal gold anti tuberculosis antibody (TB-Ab) were employed to detect in two groups of patients. The ROC curve of IFN-γrelease quantity was analyzed in two groups. Results The sensitivity and specificity of QFT-GIT were 93.58% and 85.71% respectively. The positive rate was significantly higher in QFT-GIT than that of TB-Ab (χ2=43.68,P<0.01). The sensitivity of combined detection of the two methods decreased to 52.3% (57/109), but the specificity increased to 90.0% (63/70). The release quantity of IFN-γwas significantly higher in tuberculosis group than that in the non-tuberculosis group (U=330,P<0.05). The area under the ROC curve of IFN-γrelease quantity was 0.913 (95%CI:0.864-0.963). Conclusion The whole blood IFN-γrelease assay of QFT-GIT is a sensitive and specific assay for detecting tuberculosis infection. The combination QFT-GIT with TB-Ab can improve the specificity further, which could be a useful tool for the diagnosis of tuberculosis .

Objective To study the effect of lipid peroxidation and anti-lipid peroxidation and the pigment in skin of C57BL/6 mice exposed to arsenic. Methods Forty male C57BL/6 mice were divided into four groups via the random number table method, ten mice in each group, and the mice were fed ad libitum drinking water containing arsenic at 0,1,5 and 25 mg/L concentrations for a period of 6 weeks, respectively.Twelve days before the end of the experiment, procedure of depilation was performed to induce anagen of hair cycle. On the 30th day of experiment, the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) was determined by nitrite method, the activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) was determined by dithiobisobenzoic acid method, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in skin of C57BL/6 mice was determined by thiobarbituric acid method.Melanin was measured by NaOH dissolution method. Results No significant difference was found in body weight and water intaken between groups (F =0.119,0.363,P > 0.05).The activity of SOD [(16.00 ± 5.05),(13.96 ± 2.02),(10.46 ± 3.14) U/mg prot] in 1,5 and 25 mg/L arsenic groups were all significantly lower than that in control group [(20.36 ± 4.82) U/mg prot,P < 0.05].GSH-Px activity in 1,5 and 25 mg/L arsenic groups [(98.14 ± 23.92),(87.18 ± 10.87),(53.56 ± 19.97) U/mg prot] were all significantly lower than that in control group [(119.34 ± 33.14) U/mg prot,P < 0.05].While MDA levels in 5 and 25 mg/L arsenic groups [(9.09 ± 2.04),(11.48 ± 2.21) nmol/mg prot] were significantly higher than that of control group [(6.19 ± 0.56) nmol/mg prot,P < 0.05] and that of 1 mg/L arsenic group [(6.52 ± 1.67) nmol/mg prot,P < 0.05).No significant difference was found in melanin levels (P > 0.05).Conclusions Lipid peroxidation and the decreasing of antioxidation may be one of the mechanisms of arsenic-induced skin damage.Arsenic-induced skin melanin content change is not found.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between the distribution of eosinophils(Eos) of nasal secretion and serum specific IgE(sIgE) titer in patients with allergic rhinitis, and to evaluate the diagnostic value of Eos in nasal secretion for allergic rhinitis. METHODS A total of 60 allergic rhinitis patients from Department of Otolaryngology, Beijing Shunyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during Jan.2016 to June 2017 were selected as treatment group, and another 60 cases of non-allergic rhinitis and 30 normal persons in the corresponding time period were chosen as control group. Eos in nasal secretions and serum sIgE were measured in all the subjects and the relationship between Eos distribution and serum sIgE level was analyzed. RESULTS The Eos distribution and serum level of sIgE was consistent(κ=0.264, P=0.000) and statistical significance was found. The area of ROC of the Eos in nasal secretion was 0.881, the standard deviation was 0.025 and 95% confidence interval was 0.841 to 0.924. The Udden index of ROC reached the maximum when the Eos in nasal secretion smear was graded as level 3, the sensitivity was 88.5% and specificity was 99.4%. CONCLUSION Eos cytological examination of nasal secretions has some auxiliary value in the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis. It is a cheap, simple and rapid method, which can be used as an effective reference index for diagnosing allergic rhinitis in primary hospital.

Objective To investigate the density seasonal fluctuation and insecticide resistance of Anopheles sinensis in the Taibai Lake area and to provide a scientific basis for formulation of Anopheles sinensis control strategy. Methods The surveillance was carried out from June to October in 2013-2016.The adult mosquito density was monitored using human bait trapping method.WHO bioassay method was used to measure the sensibility of mosquitoes to insecticides. Results In 2013-2016,totally 2 318 Anopheles sinensis were captured, the Anopheles sinensis peaked in late July till early August, which were 67-127,317-386,77-89,107-139,respectively.Anopheles sinensis showed high resistance to dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, malathion, and initial resistance to propoxur and deltamethrin (mortality ratio:38.10%,41.82%,86.11%,83.02%).Conclusions The Taibai Lake area has a diverse Anopheles sinensis population, its seasonal fluctuations and insecticide resistance monitoring can provide effective guidance for malaria control. In order to prevent the development of resistance to the insecticides, integrated management measures should be adopted in the future.
