Objective To study the anatomical relationship between the umbilicus and the retroperitoneal major vessels. Methods A total of 80 female patients undergoing laparoscopy in our department were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into 4 groups according to their body mass index (BMI):low-weight group,normal-weight group, overweight group, and obese group. During the operation, the surgeons palpated the abdominal aorta, right common iliac artery, and left common iliac artery with hand to determine their relationship to the umbilicus. The abdominal aortic bifurcation was used as a reference point to determine its position in relation to the umbilicus. Results (1) The bifurcation was above the level of the umbilicus in 17 (21.2%) cases,at the umbilicus level in 29 (36.3%) cases, and below that in 34 (42.5%) cases. Among the four groups, the position of the bifurcation was significantly different (?2=16.769,P=0.010). In the overweight and obese groups, most of the patients had the umbilicus located under the level of the aortic bifurcation [65.0% (13/20) and 75.0% (6/8) respectively],while in the normal-weight group,47.6% (20/42) of the cases had the umbilicus above the aortic bifurcation(P

AIM:To explore the influences of semaphorin 3A (Sema 3A) on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced injury in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs).METHODS:Sema 3A over-expression vectors were constructed and transfected into the HUVECs by Lipofectamine 2000, and the over-expression effect was verified by qPCR and Western blot. The HUVECs in different groups were treated with or without 200 μmol/L H2O2 for 4 h.The levels of inflammatory cytokines were measured by qPCR.The levels of lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were detected by corresponding colorimetry. The cell viability was measured by MTT assay. The cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. The levels of apoptosis-related proteins cleaved caspase-3 and Bcl-2 were determined by Western blot.RESULTS:H2O2 induced inflammatory cytokine secretion, increased the levels of LDH and MDA, decreased SOD activity and cell viability, and increased cell apoptosis in the HUVECs.Over-expression of Sema 3A enhanced the above processes. No injury effect of Sema 3A over-expression on HUVECs without H2O2 treatment was observed, indicating that the injury effects of Sema 3A on HUVECs depended on H2O2.CONCLUSION:Sema 3A markedly enhances H2O2-induced injury in the HUVECs, which depends on H2O2.Sema 3A may promote oxidative stress-caused endothelial cell injury.

Attempting to use nonlinear spatiotemporal Lyapunov exponent to characterize fMRI brain functional connectivity of anxiety disease patients, we adopted the methods of nonlinear spatiotemporal Lyapunov exponent and linear correlation coefficients to analyses fMRI datum of 11 anxiety disease patients and 11 healthy volunteers, respectively. The results show that there are significant normalized variance exponent (NVE) differences in Inferior Frontal Gyrus (rIFG) and Medial Frontal Gyrus (MFG) between the two groups (P<0.01). And correlation coefficients shows significant differences (P<0.05). The spatial-temporal Lyapunov exponent method had higher sensitivity than the correlation coefficient method in the characterization of functional connectivity; Anxiety disease patients have abnormal functional connectivity in rIFG and MFG during our experiment.

Objective To explore the CTV to PTV external expansion boundary and the effect of the dose of normal lung tissue under different fixed modes by a comparative analysis of combined body position and thermoplastic film fixed set-up error of radiation therapy for lung cancer. Methods From October 2016 to March 2018, the patients who received chest radiology at the Tangshan people's hospital were enrolled as subjects retrospectively divided into two groups, including 50 patients with lung cancer radiotherapy with combined body position fixation, and 40 patients with lung cancer with thermoplastic film fixation. The two groups of patients drew the target areas in accordance with the unified standard, and the set-up error of left and right, up and down, front and rear ( x, y, z axis) were recorded respectively after 1 time/week cone CT( CBCT) matched with the planned CT image and analyzed by t test. According to the MPTV =2. 5Σ+0. 7δ, CTV to PTV external expansion boundary in the combined body position group were calculated. And the V5、V20 and V30 of two groups of patients were calculated and analyzed by TPS system. Results The set-up error of the combined body position group and thermoplastic film group were respectively (1. 00 ± 0. 58) mm and (3. 28 ± 0. 43) mm on the x axis, (1. 42 ± 0. 28) mm on the y axis and (4. 03 ± 0. 41) mm, (1. 06 ± 0. 44) mm and (3. 18 ± 0. 34) mm on the z axis. The set-up errors of the two groups were statistically significant on x, y and z axis( t= -20. 740, -35. 596, -25. 015,P<0. 05). There was no significant difference in set-up errors between the central and peripheral lung cancer patients and between left and right lung cancer patients(P>0. 05). Through the MPTV =2. 5Σ+0. 7δ, CTV to PTV external expansion boundary in the combined body position fixation group was 2. 906 , 3. 746 and 2. 958 mm on x, y and z axis respectively. The comparison between group A and B showed that the mean values of V5 , V20 and V30 in group B were reduced by 1. 5%, 3. 1% and 4. 8% respectively compared with group A. Conclusions The combined body position technique can improve the accuracy of lung cancer patients after radiation therapy, and further reduce the boundary of CTV to PTV, which is of certain value to reduce the occurrence of radiation pneumonitis.

PURPOSE: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) activated by cancer cells has a central role in development and malignant biological behavior in colorectal cancer (CRC). Adult fibroblasts do not express Snail, but Snail-positive fibroblasts are discovered in the stroma of malignant CRC and reported to be the key role to chemoresistance. However, the reciprocal effect of CAFs expressed Snail to chemoresistance on CRC cells and the underlying molecular mechanisms are not fully characterized. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Snail-overexpressed 3T3 stable cell lines were generated by lipidosome and CT26 mixed with 3T3-Snail subcutaneous transplanted CRC models were established by subcutaneous injection. Cell Counting Kit-8, flow cytometry and western blotting assays were performed, and immunohistochemistry staining was studied. The cytokines participated in chemoresistance was validated with reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction and heatmap. RESULTS: Snail-expression fibroblasts are discovered in human and mouse spontaneous CRCs. Overexpression of Snail induces 3T3 fibroblasts transdifferentiation to CAFs. CT26 co-cultured with 3T3-Snail resisted the impairment from 5-fluorouracil and paclitaxel in vitro. The subcutaneous transplanted tumor models included 3T3-Snail cells develop without restrictions even after treating with 5-fluorouracil or paclitaxel. Moreover, these chemoresistant processes may be mediated by CCL1 secreted by Snail-expression fibroblasts via transforming growth factor β/nuclear factor-κB signaling pathways. CONCLUSION: Taken together, Snail-expressing 3T3 fibroblasts display CAFs properties that support 5-fluorouracil and paclitaxel chemoresistance in CRC via participation of CCL1 and suggest that inhibition of the Snail-expression fibroblasts in tumor may be a useful strategy to limit chemoresistance.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between the distribution of eosinophils(Eos) of nasal secretion and serum specific IgE(sIgE) titer in patients with allergic rhinitis, and to evaluate the diagnostic value of Eos in nasal secretion for allergic rhinitis. METHODS A total of 60 allergic rhinitis patients from Department of Otolaryngology, Beijing Shunyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during Jan.2016 to June 2017 were selected as treatment group, and another 60 cases of non-allergic rhinitis and 30 normal persons in the corresponding time period were chosen as control group. Eos in nasal secretions and serum sIgE were measured in all the subjects and the relationship between Eos distribution and serum sIgE level was analyzed. RESULTS The Eos distribution and serum level of sIgE was consistent(κ=0.264, P=0.000) and statistical significance was found. The area of ROC of the Eos in nasal secretion was 0.881, the standard deviation was 0.025 and 95% confidence interval was 0.841 to 0.924. The Udden index of ROC reached the maximum when the Eos in nasal secretion smear was graded as level 3, the sensitivity was 88.5% and specificity was 99.4%. CONCLUSION Eos cytological examination of nasal secretions has some auxiliary value in the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis. It is a cheap, simple and rapid method, which can be used as an effective reference index for diagnosing allergic rhinitis in primary hospital.
