Objective To determine the effect of high temperature denervation in back pain relief during percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) for vertebral osteoporotic fracture. Methods Fifty-six patients undergone PKP for single vertebral osteoporotic fracture were randomly divided into cooling group and normal group with 28 patients per group according to whether the temperature reducing measures were provided during the polymerization process of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).Data recorded were operation time, amount of PMMA injected into each vertebral body, visual analogue scale (VAS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), and anterior vertebral height. Results All the data revealed no significant differences between cooling and normal groups: operation time [(45.6 ± 7.3)min vs (43.6 ± 5.8)min], PMMA injected into each vertebral body [(2.8 ±0.3)ml vs (2.7 ±0.4)ml], VAS [(3.8 ± 0.7) points vs (3.2 ± 0.7) points], ODI [(36.6 ± 8.2) points vs (30.4 ± 6.0) points] and height restoration of anterior vertebral body [(85.3 ± 6.1)% vs (83.9 ± 7.3)%] (P > 0.05).Conclusion High temperature denervation contributes a little to the relief of back pain during PKP, as may be due to the vertebral augmentation and stabilization.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for development and application of Korean medicine Atractylodes japonica. METHODS:Using"Guancangsu""Huaxue chengfen""Yaoli zuoyong""Atractylodes japonica""Chemical constituents""Pharmacological effects"as Chinese and English key words, relevant literatures published during 1983-2017 were retrieved from CNKI, PubMed, ScienceDirect full-text database, the chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of A. japonica were reviewed. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:As of June 21,2017,a total of 226 literatures were collected, including 43 valid literatures. A. japonica mainly contains terpenoids, aliphatic, aromatic in volatile oil, glycosides active constituents in roots, and shows anti-inflammatory and analgesic, cardio cerebral vascular protection, contianaphylaxis, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-ulcer effects. Currently, the research of A. japonica on the chemical constituents and pharmacological effects has achieved initial results, however, reports of its toxicity are rare. Therefore, the safety evaluation should be taken into account in the study of its pharmacological effects.

Objective To explore the effects of the training the trainers model in the quality control circle training. Methods According to the training the trainers model, 27 nurses were involved as trainers and received quality control circle training by 6 mentors from 2013 to 2015. The training capacity of trainers and the training effect of the target group were assessed before and after training. The lasting effect after training were evaluated. Results The self-assessment score of 6 trainers′ training capacity after training (4.30±0.54) was significantly higher than before training (1.41±0.50) (t=-19.98, P<0.01). The self-assessment score of 189 circle members′ training capacity after training ( 27. 51 ± 4. 19 ) was significantly higher than before training (20.52±4.56) (t=-18.722, P<0.01). The percentage of nursing staff participating in the quality control circle significantly increased from 2.8% to 12.4% after the whole process (χ2=226.378, P<0.01).Conclusions The training the trainers model is effective in improving training capacity of trainers in quality control circle training and increasing effects of quality control circle training among target nurses and is an effective model in training quality control circle on nurses.
