Objective To study the influences of impact of different loads to lamina on spinal cord with a closed spinal cord injury model and to explore the mechanisms of blood vessels in spinal cord injury. Methods 120 normal male SD rats were randomized into 4 groups, with 30 in each. Group A served as the control group which received no impact. In Groups B, C and D,impacts of 10, 15 and 20 N were given to lamina respectively. The blood flow in the spinal cord central gray matter and the dorsal white matter, the blood pressure and the heart rate were observed at different experimental time points. Results No obvious change was observed in the blood pressure and heart rate in every group at different time points. The spinal cord blood flow (SCBF) in Groups C and D varied in a regular pattern. Conclusions The impact load to lamina can affect the spinal cord mainly by altering the spinal cord microcirculation. The influence is the most obvious on the blood flow of microcirculation of the gray matter.

Objective To understand the intestinal nervous system(ENS) pathological change in rats with acute renal failure(ENS).Methods Rat acute renal failure model was established, the intracanthus blood was drew to determine the serum total creatinine(Scr) blood urea nitrogen(BUN) after 48h and 4th-day,then the rats was sacrificed at fourth day each rat's kidney tissue, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, colon and rectum were stained with hematoxylineosin(SE).Finaly, iNOS staining by immunohitochemstry, observed the numbers of the ENS nerve plexus, ENS nerve cell , and iNOS positive cell nerve plexus. Check whether there has hyperemia hydrops, degenerative necrosis, and inflammatory cell infiltration on the mucosa epithelium. Results ⑴Kidney histological change was occurred. The kidney tubules degenerative necrosis was found in all the ten cases of kidney failure, and the hyaline cast, mesenchyme hemorrhagic necrosis, and inflammatory cell infltration were seen. ⑵ HE coloration and microscope inspection;numbers of the ENS nerve plexus and nerve cell of the acute kidney failure group were less than the normal group, especially in the ileum and rectum .⑶The number of the iNOS positive cell nerve plexus in ENS of the rats with acute renal failure was apparently less than that of the normal group. In addition, the iNOS positive presentation was stronger than that of the normal group. Conclusions The findings suggest that toxic metabolites of uremic rat acts on the ENS,and thus leading to pathological changes of ENS,resulting in stomach and intestinal mortor function disorder.

ObjectiveTo study the expressions of p75NTR,Bax and Bcl-2 and cell apoptosis in rat cortical neurons following mechanical injury and discuss the mechanism and mutual action way during the apoptosis of rat neurons after mechanical injury. Methods Cortical neuron cultures were prepared from the brain tissues of day 17 rat embryos and were exposed to mechanical injury seven days after seeding. After the traumatic neuron injury models were created, the apoptosis ratio of neurons was tested at several time points. The models were divided into the minor, moderate, severe injury groups according to the injury severity and the control group. The expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 in each group were detected by immunohistochemistry method and that of p75NTR by Western-blot.Combining with cellular apoptosis ratio in each group shown after FCM analysis, the correlation between the expressions of p75NTR,Bax and Bcl-2 and the apoptosis in rat neurons after mechanical injury could be analyzed.ResultsThe apoptosis ratio of the neurons in all the injury groups was obviously higher than that in the control group, with significantly higher apoptosis ratio of the neurons in the severe injury group than the minor and moderate injury groups (P <0.05).P75NTR,Bax and Bcl-2 were all expressed in all the injury groups, with statistical differences between groups. The expression of Bax in the severe injury group was significantly higher than that in the minor and moderate injury groups(P < 0.05 ). Conclusions p75NTR expression and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio are closely correlated with neuron apoptosis. The early expression of p75NTR may be one of mechnisms for neuronal apoptosis after neuron injury, when Bax and Bcl-2 may be involved.

Objective To investigate whether the implanted spike wave electrical stimulation (ES) can improve survival of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) after transplantation in spinal cord injury (SCI) rats. MethodsIn the study,60 male SD rats were used to prepare the SCI induced by a digital weight drop apparatus. The MSCs from each rat' s femurs were collected and then labeled by Bromodeoxyuridine (Brdu) seven days after SCI.The rats were randomly assigned into four groups,ie,group A (receiving a transplantation of MSCs only),group B (receiving electro-stimulant therapy only),group C ( receiving a transplation of MSCs and electro-stimulant therapy) and the control group ( receiving a single injection of phosphate buffer solution,PBS).Functional status was assessed regularly before and after SCI by using the Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan (BBB) locomotor rating score and somatosensory evoked potential (SEP).The recovery of spinal cord was checked by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and the survivorship of the labeled MSCs was observed with immunohistochemical method. Results BBB score of group C demonstrated significant difference in comparison with that of the other three groups ( P < 0.05 )and was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.01 ) four weeks after surgery, which indicated an obvious functional improvement of the extremity mobility in group C.At the 8th week postoperatively,SEP study displayed significant difference in group C from the other three groups in terms of latency and wave amplitude (P <0.05 ),indicating the fast neurofunctional recovery of the spinal cord in group C.MR images of the spinal cords by DTI showed the same outcome.Immunohistochemistry confirmed a large number of the labeled MSCs positive cells in the lesion site of group C.ConclusionTheimplanted spike wave ES promotes the bioactivity and survival of MSCs and improves the therapeutic effect in combination with MSCs transplantation.

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of singular double antithrombotie therapy (DT) using warfarin plus clopidogrel and the combined antithrombotie therapy of 3-month triple antithrombotie therapy (TT) using warfarin, aspirinand clopidogrel and 9-month double antithrombotie therapy (DT) for the patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing PCI. Methods Ninety patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing PCI were randomly divided into two groups evenly: one group was treated with dual antithrombotic therapy group (DT) and the other group with the combined therapy, e. g. 3-month triple antithrombotie therapy (TT) and 9-month double antithrombotie therapy (DT + TT for short). All patients were followed-up by 12 months. The two groups were compared in terms of incidences of death , myocardial infarction , stroke , target-vessel revascularisation , stent thrombosis and bleeding adverse events. Results The incidences of myocardial infarction, stroke, target-vessel revascularisation , stent thrombosis and bleeding adverse events in the TT + DT group were all significantly lower than the DT group (P < 0.05). The follow-up on the safety indicated that the rate of bleeding in the TT +DT group was insignificantly higher than the DT group (P > 0.05). Conclusion There is no significant difference in safety between the two groups. However, the therapy of TT + DT is more effective.
