This study was aimed to establish a rabbit model of bridging artery defect with autogenous vein under equal arterial and venous compliances by selecting an appropriate anastomosing tension based on assessing the influence of vessel's longitudinal strain on compliance. The exponential form P = M1 x [eM2(v-v0)-1] was employed to fit the blood pressure-unit volume curves under different stretch ratios(lambda) obtained from real curves on 13 femoral arteries and 12 veins whose uniaxial loading tests at longitudinal directions had been performed, then the quantic M = a1 lambda 5 + a2 lambda 4 + a3 lambda 3 + a lambda 2 + a5 lambda + a6 was done to fit M-lambda data. Results showed the differential form dv/dp = 1/(M1 x M2 + 11.78 M2) derived from P = M1 x [eM2(v-v0)-1], and lambda reflected the relationship between compliance and stretch ratio (or longitudinal tension) under average artery pressure 11.78 KPa well. It was found that under longitudinal tension 1.19 g, the arterial and venous compliances were equal(0.031 microliter/KPa) while the respective stretch ratios were 1.32 and 1.67.

Objective To explore neuroprotective effects of blonanserin on H2O2-induced injury in PC12 cells. Meth?ods PC12 cells were divided into four groups:control group (C group), H2O2-treated group (H group), blonanserin pretreat?ed group (B group) and positive control group (vitamin E- pretreated, E group). The effects of different concentrations of blonanserin (0, 5, 10, 20, 40, 80 and 160 μmol·L-1) on cell proliferation in PC 12 cells were observed. MTT assay was used to detect the cell activity of different groups. The apoptotic rates of different groups were measured by TUNEL assay. The mor?phological changes were observed using inverted microscope and Hoechst 33258 staining. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) vi?ability and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were detecded by biochemical methods in four groups. Results The appropriate concentration of blonanserin (0-20 μmol·L-1) can promote the growth of PC12 cells. Comparing with the C group, the apoptot?ic rate and MDA level were increased in group H, while the cell viability and the SOD viability were decreased obviously ( P<0.05). Compared with H group, the cell viability, SOD viability were significantly increased, while the MDA level and apoptotic rate were decreased (P<0.05). Conclusion Blonanserin shows neuroprotective effect on H2O2-induced injury in PC12 cells.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of pingyangmycin (PYM) injection on infantile hemangioma located in the parotid gland region. Methods Twelve patients were treated by intralesional injection of PYM. When necessary, the injections were repeated at an interval of one week, but not more than 3-4 sessions within a therapeutic period. Normally, the secondary therapeutic period was performed 1 month later. The general and local adverse responses were recorded and the clinical outcomes were assessed with a follow-up of 1 to 3 years. Results Complete clinical resolutions were achieved in 10 patients. 2 patients received one injection, 3 patients received 2 injections, 3 patients received 3 injections, and 2 patients received 4 injections. The remaining 2 patients with partial resolution received 6 and 7 injections respectively. No clinical recurrence was observed during the follow-up of 1 to 3 years. No ulcerations or postoperative sears in injection regions were presented. The function of facial nerve was remained normality in all patients. The systematic side effects included transient pyrexia and poor appetite appeared in partial patients. No allergy cases were found. Conclusion Treatment of infantile hemangioma located in parotid gland region with PYM injection reveals a high rate of complete clinical resolution, with fair cosmetic results and short treatment time, and it does not damage the facial nerve or form local scar. The treatment time of PYM injection seems to be positively related to size of the lesions.

OBJECTIVETo investigate whether there is a possible role of pro-inflammatory cytokine high mobility group box protein 1 (HMGB1) causing liver failure in severe hepatitis B patients.
METHODSSerum HMGB1 levels of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with different clinical conditions were measured and the correlations between HMGB1 and TBil or PTA were analyzed. (1) 54 chronic hepatitis B patients in different clinical conditions were enrolled in our study. Their serum TBil and PTA levels were detected by routine methods. (2) Their serum HMGB1 levels were also detected. 100 KD super-filtration columns were used to get rid of large proteins in the serum and 10 KD columns were used to condense the protein. Western blot was used to determine HMGB1 levels, and correlations between HMGB1 and TBil or PTA were analyzed.
RESULTSThe detection rates of serum HMGB1 were 100% (23/23), 90% (9/10), and 55% (6/11) in 23 patients with hepatic failure, 10 patients with chronic severe hepatitis B, and 11 patients with chronic moderate hepatitis B respectively. The concentration of serum HMGB1 levels in these three groups was (83.4+/-21.3), (78.1+/-19.5) and (60.3+/-14.3) microg/L respectively. Serum HMGB1 was not detected in normal healthy controls and hardly detected in convalescent and mild hepatitis patients. There were positive correlations between HMGB1 and TBil and negative correlations between HMGB1 and PTA.
CONCLUSIONHMGB1 levels in serum were closely associated with disease severity in chronic hepatitis B patients. HMGB1 may play a key role in the pathogenesis of chronic severe hepatitis B and liver failure.

Objective To investigate the serum γ-glutamyl transferase(γ-GT)level and its clinical significances in hepatitis B virus(HBV)-liver failure(LF)patients. Methods γ-GT levels were detected in 89 LF patients,30 cases with cirrhosis and 30 healthy controls.Difference of serum γ-GT between survival group and death group in LF patients and dynamics of γ-GT after hospitalization were studied. Survival rate between γ-GT increase group and decrease group were compared. The associations of γ-GT with model for end stage live disease(MELD)and prealbumin were calculated. Results At baseline, the γ-GT levels in LF,cirrhosis and healthy control groups were(149.61 ± 69.86),(123.96 ± 59.52)and (48.28 ± 10.25)U/L,respectively,the difference among groups was significant(F= 178.150,P<0.05).The survival group in LF patients showed significant increase of γ-GT one week after hospitalization compared with death group([75.27 ± 10.34]vs[29.47 ± 5.05],t=5.40,P<0.05). The γ-GT increase group showed higher survival rate than γ-GT decrease group[76.19%(48/63)vs 23.08%[6/26],χ2=21.76,P<0.05].Serum γ-GT level in LF patients was positively correlated with both MELD score and prealbumin(r=0.709 and -0.627,respectively,both P<0.05).Conclusions The rise of γ-GT may indicate a better prognosis in LF patients.Serum γ-GT positively correlates with prealbumin and both could reflect the regeneration of hepatocytes.

Objective:To explore the feasibility of anastomosis between bladder and intestine of experimental rabbit by drag anastomosis. Methods:In this study 40 Japanese big-eared rabbits were randomly divided into two groups through random number table, the experimental group and the control group, each group with 20 rabbits. In the experimental group, the bladder neck was fixed to the catheter and then the catheter was drawn outward. With the traction of the catheter, the bladder neck was anastomosed with the distal intestinal tube by means of suture free. The control group was anastomosed by regular interrupted suture of bladder and intestine. The operation time, anastomosis time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative urinary leakage rate and postoperative anastomotic healing of rabbits in the two groups were compared. Results:The operation time of the experimental group was shorter than that of the traditional interrupted suture anastomosis group [(33.26±2.79)min vs. (35.25±1.83)min, P=0.014]. The anastomosis time of the experimental group was significantly shorter than that of the traditional interrupted suture anastomosis group[(7.55±1.2)min vs. (8.65±1.03 min), P=0.005]. The intraoperative blood loss in the experimental group was similar to that in the control group[(6.47±2.41) ml vs. (6.75±1.83) ml, P=0.691]. The event of contrast media extravasation occurred in 2 of the 10 experimental rabbits after receiving cystography in the experimental group, and the urinary leakage rate was 20%(2/10). In the control group, contrast media extravasation occurred in 1 of the 9 experimental rabbits after receiving cystography, and the urinary leakage rate was 11.1%(1/9), and the difference of the two groups was not statistically significant ( P=0.348). Anastomotic healing score was (2.0±0.7) in the experimental group, and (2.1±0.74) in the control group ( P=0.767). Conclusions:The bladder-intestine drag-and-bond anastomosis technique, with significantly shorter anastomosis time, was feasible, easy and convenient. Our research provides an experimental and theoretical basis for the clinical application of drag-and-bond anastomosis technique in clinic.
