Objective To explore the therapeutic mechanism of Huangqin Zhengqi Capsule(HZC)for the syndrome of damp retention in middle-jiao.Methods The rat model of damp retention in middle-jiao was established according to the literature.HZC was administered by gastric gavage in the dosage of 0.175,0.350 and 0.700 g/kg.After treatment,the serum gastrin content,small intestinal absorbency to D-xylose,small intestinal peristalsis,activities of gastric mucosal protective factors such as superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase(CAT)as well as gastric pathologic changes were observed.Results HZC can obviously increase serum gastrin content,increase small intestinal absorbency to D-xylose and peristalsis of small intestine,increase the activities of SOD and CAT,as well as improve the gastric pathologic changes in model rats(P

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture combined with rehabilitation exercises on swallowing function and cerebral perfusion in dysphagic stroke patients.Methods Sixty-two stroke pa- tients with dysphagia were randomly divided into a treatment group(n=32)and a control group(n=30).The treat- ment group received electroacupunture,rehabilitation exercise and conventional medical treatment,while the control group received only rehabilitation exercise and conventional medical treatment.They were treated once a day,6 times a week for 4 weeks.Water drinking test,stethocatharsis scores and swallowing fluorography were used to assess the swallowing function before and after treatment.Single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)was also em- ployed to observe the status of cerebral perfusion before and after treatment.Results It was shown that the swallo- wing function and cerebral perfusion in the treatment group were significantly better than the control group after treat- ment.The effective rate in the treatment group was 96.88% while that of the control group was 66.67%.Conclu- sion Electroacupuncture combined with rehabilitation exercises is effective in treating the dysphagic stroke patients, and can significantly improve the brain perfusion of these patients.

ObjectiveTo observe the retinal function and nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). MethodsLASIK was performed in 15 cases (30 eyes) with myopia after strict preoperative examination. All examinations such as vision, correction vision, diopter, intraocular pressure, corneal thickness, ocular axis, topography scan and fundus of eye examination were performed before and 1 day, 1 week, 1 month,3 months and 6 months after operation, as well as electroretinography (ERG), visual evoked potential (VEP), optical coherece tomography at same time. ResultsThere was not significant difference in the intraocular pressure, ERG and VEP 1 day after LASIK. The thickness of RNFL decreased 1 week after LASIK (P<0.05) and recovered 1～6 months later. ConclusionLASIK does not disturb the retinal function and RNFL thickness irreversiblely.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of filtering surgery on glaucoma.Methods50 glaucoma cases (60 eyes) were underwent trabeculectomy, including paracentesis in advance, suturing of sclera flap and conjunctiva flap, using mitomycin (MMC) and forming anterior chamber as soon as finished operation. All cases were followed up 1 year.ResultsPostoperative IOP was lower than 21 mmHg in 54 eyes, 6 eyes were <30 mmHg when treated with drugs. After operation, there were only 2 eyes had lower vision, the others had higher vision. Two eyes had conjunctiva filtering, two eyes had choroidal separation, but they recovered after non surgical therapy.ConclusionFiltering surgery can decrease common complications, increase vision of early stage, and make IOP recovered to normal.

Background Central corneal thickness (CCT) is one of important parameters of the anterior eye segment.It plays a very important part in corneal refractive surgery and diagnosis of glaucoma.Contacted A-scan remains the gold standard for CCT measurement.Ophthalmologists are trying to look for a more convenient and noncontacted instrument to take place of contacted A-scan for CCT measurement.Objective This system analysis was to evaluate the difference between Pentacam and A-scan in CCT measurement.Methods A systematic literature retrieval was conducted from the MEDLINE,EMbase,Google Scholar,CBM disc and CNKI database with the limitation of publishing time from January 2005 to May 2011.The literature text was limited to the comparison of the CCT values measured by Pentacam and A-scan.The statistical analysis was performed using RevMan 5.1.0 software.Sensitive analysis was carried out and the publishing bias was analyzed using inverted funnel plot.Results A total of 26 studies met the requirement were included in this Meta-analysis with the 12 pieces of Chinese article and 14 pieces of English article,with the total eyes 3677.Heterogeneity was found anmong included studies (P =0.0003,I2 =56％) and random effects model was used.The differential value of CCT derived by Pentacam and A-scan was 1.74 μm,and no significant difference was found between Pentacam and A-scan (WMD =1.74,95％ CI:-0.69-4.16,P＞0.05).Fixed effects model was used to exclude the studies with the sample more than 100 eyes as the sensitive analysis.When fixed effect model was used,CCT by Pentacam was 2.73 μm more than A-scan,showing an insignificantly clinical difference.When studies with a sample more than 100 eyes were excluded,the CCT value by Pentacam was 2.64 μm more than A-scan,without clinically significant difference between them.No obvious publishing bias was seen in the included literature.Conclusions The difference between Pentacam and A-scan in CCT measurement is less and could be ignored.

Objective To investigate the correlation between α1-adrenergic receptor and the pathological behavior of cholangiocarcinoma, and the effects of norepinephrine (NE) on the proliferation of cholangiocarcinoma cell line QBC939. Methods Thirty-six samples of cholangiocarcinoma were resected in Southwest Hospital from August 2002 to March 2008. The expression of α1-adrenergic receptor in the 36 samples of cholangiocarcinoma tissue and 4 samples of normal bile duct tissue were detected by SABC technique. The proliferation of cholangio-carcinoma cell line QBC939 was detected after processing the cells with NE, phentolamine and prazosin. All the data were analyzed by chi-square test. Results The high positive expression rate of α1-adrenergic receptor was 68% (17/25) in patients with lymph node metastasis, which was significantly higher than 9% (1/11) in patients without lymph node metastasis (χ2=10.604, P<0.05). The high positive expression rate of α1-adrenergic receptor was 85% (11/13) in patients with middle and low positioned cholangiocarcinoma, which was significantly higher than 30% (7/23) in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma (χ2=9.753, P<0.05). NE promoted the proliferation of cholangiocarcinoma cell line QBC939 by stimulating the expression of α1-adrenergic receptor, and in a concentration-dependent manner. The proliferative effect was weakened as time passed by, and it was eliminated by phentolamine and prazosin. Conclusions The expression of α1-adrenergic receptor is diverse due to lymph node metastasis and the location of the tumor, α1-adrenergic receptor with high expression may play an important role in the proliferation and metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the consistency of HER2 gene status before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer by FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) and IHC (immunohistochemistry) techniques,and analyze the factor of the difference in the result and the feasibility of HER2 gene tested by FISH in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy breast cancer patients.Methods FISH and IHC for HER2 gene expression status was performed on the archival paraffin-embedded sections of breast cancer tissues before and after neoadjuvant chemotherapy from 135 Chinese female patients,x2 test of paired comparison of enumeration data and Kappa analysis were used to compare the difference and consistency of this two techniques.ResultsThe detection rate of HER2 status in punctured cancer tissues before neoadjuvant chemotherapy by FISH and HER2 did not show statistical difference in our research while the opposite result were showed in cancer tissues after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Moreover,the two techniques of HER2 test were less concordant in patients accepted taxanes neoadjuvant chemotherapy than CAF treatment.ConclusionsThe consistency of FISH and IHC techniques of cancer tissues before neoadjuvant chemotherapy gained advantage compared to the ones after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy especially taxanes should take the test of HER2 gene status by FISH technique.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of ultra-mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy for the treatment of renal or upper ureteral stones.Methods The data of 32 patients diagnosed as renal or upper ureteral stones were retrospectively reviewed,who underwent ultra-mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy from June to October,2015,including 29 kidney stones,3 upper ureteral stones,of which 21 single stone,7 multiple stones,and 4 staghorn stones.There were 8 cases with inferior calyx stones,10 with renal pelvis stones,3 with upper ureteral stones,10 with renal pelvis stones plus inferior calyx stones and 1 with renal pelvis stones plus upper calyx stones.The mean stone size was (20.1 ±7.6) mm (ranging from 10 to 41mm).The mean Hounsfield unit (HU) was (1 125.9 ±225.9) Hu (ranging from 520 to 1 550Hu).In this cohort,13 cases had mild hydronephrosis,2 moderate hydronephrosis,1 severe hydronephrosis while no hydronephrosis identified in the other 16 patients.One case had concomitant kidney and ureter duplication malformation,and 1 case had residual stones after laparoscopic nephrolithotomy.Results All of the patients were treated by single tract UMP.Among them,middle calyceal puncture was performed in 9 cases,and the other 23 cases underwent lower calyceal puncture,including 4 cases of intercostal puncture,and 28 subcostal puncture.The mean operating time was (30.3 ± 15.0) min (ranging from 10 to 90 min).The mean postoperative hospital stay was (1.9 ± 1.0)days (ranging from 1 to 5 days).The mean hemoglobin decrease was(14.6 ±8.4)g/L (ranging from 1 to 46 g/L).No analgesics were used.Peri-operative complication rate was 3.13％ (1/32) with 1 case of collection system perforation.There was no fever,severe bleeding,urinary extravasation,pleural injury,or blood transfusion.The SFR was 93.75％ (30/32) and 96.88％ (31/32) on the first day and the first month after the operation,respectively.Conclusions UMP could be a safe and effective method for the treatment of renal or upper ureteral stones,especially for inferior calyceal stones less than 2cm.It offers high stone clearance rate,minimally invasiveness,quick recovery,short length of hospital stay and improved quality of life.
