ObjectiveTo compare costs of combined intravenous and inhalation anesthesia (CIIA) and total intravenous anesthesia (TIA) when lower limbs orthopedics (LLO) performed on cerebral palsy children (CPC).MethodsTo analyze data of 49 CPC who received LLO under CIIA and TIA,and compare costs of two anesthetic styles.ResultsTIA had a significantly lower cost than CIIA (P<0.001),and showed a lower incidence of post-operation nausea and vomiting.ConclusionTIA can decrease cost of anesthesia and post-operation nursing compared with CIIA.

In recent years, non-viral gene vectors have attracted great attention for efficient gene delivery due to the advantages, including low toxicity, low immunogenicity and simple preparation. Polyethylenimine (PEI) is one of the typical non-viral gene carriers that have been widely utilized for gene delivery owing to its superior capabilities in gene compression and buffering capacity. This article discusses the processes of gene delivery and the barriers of PEI-based carrier during the gene delivery, such as low biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, lack of specific targeting and insufficient gene release, etc

Objective To evaluate the safety and clinical efficacy of system thrombolysis combined with percutaneous catheter thrombus fragmentation and thrombectomy for acute massive pulmonary embolism. Methods Ninteen patients with acute massive pulmonary embolism were treated with IVC filter placement, percutaneous catheter thrombus fragmentation and system thrombolysis combined with anticoangulation using low-molecular-weight heparin.Four of 19 patients underwent adjuvant Stranb Rotarex catheter thrombectomy. Results Twenty-one procedures were performed in 19 patients.Improvement of pulmonary artery patency and initial relief of symptoms immediately occurred in 18 of 19 patients after interventional therapy. The oxygen saturation increased from 86% to 97%.Pulmonary artery pressure decreased from 33? 5mm Hg(1mm Hg=0.133kPa)to 25?5mmHg after interventional therapy(t=13.2,P

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) on proliferation and differentiation of endogenous neural stem cells after acute spinal cord half cut-off in rats. MethodsThe differences of proliferation and differentiation of endogenous neural stem cells between injured group and intervention group were compared. ResultsThere were remarkable differences between injured group and intervention group. ConclusionHBO can promote the proliferation and differentiation of the neural stem cells in rats after spine cord injury.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the treatment of hilar biliary malignant obstruc tion with multiple stent drainage. Methods One hundred and twenty-seven patients with malignant biliary hilar obstruction were enrolled. The obstructions at the common hepatic duct within less than 1 cm to the junction of the left and the right hepatic duct were found in 66 cases,at the proximal common hepatic duct and the left and the right hepatic ducts in 45 cases,at the right hepatic duct in 5 cases and at the both left and right hepatic duets in 11 cases.Sixty-six patients received stent placement through the right biliary ducts and the common bile duct by puncturing the right mid-axillary line. The other 37 patients received 2 stents placement (disposed"Y"style) through the left and the right hepatic duct punc turing routway.Seven patients received 2 stents placement (disposed"┌"style) through the right hepatic duct and the common bile duct with a stent placed between the left and the right hepatic duct.Three patients had right hepatic duct stent placed first, followed by right hepatic duct and common hepatic duct stent. Twelve patients had stents placed in the right hepatic duct with external drainage from the left hepatic duct. Two patients had multiple strictures at the right hepatic duct, who got multiple external drainages. The total serum bilirubin levels were measured pre-and post-operatively.Results One hundred and twenty-seven patients with bi[iary obstraction had internal stents placed for drainage. The average total bilirubin levels among 121 patients were (283.4?175.4 )?mol/L pre-operation and (63.2?11.8)?mol/L post-operation (P

0.05).Conclusions The reduced expression of HLA-G on placenta in ICP patients may alter the maternal-fetal immune response and thus be involved in the pathogenesis of this disorder. Dexamethasone can upregulate the expression of HLA-G on placenta. The 14 bp deletion polymorphism in exon 8 of HLA-G gene might not have a significant influence on the development of ICP.

The skin ulceration syndrome of sea cucumber is a kind of desease induced by bacterium. In order to investigate the bacterium of infected sea cucumber and detect the N-acyl-homoserine lactones(AHLs) se-cretion of the bacterium,7 bacterial strains were isolated from the infected sea cucumber. These strains were identified by physiological-biochemical characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence. Results show that strain C6 belongs to Tenacibaculum, strain 4 belongs to Shewanella putrefaciens group, strain TB belongs to Vibrio, strain BP2,BP3,BP4 and BP6 belong to Pseudoalteromonas, respectively.AHLs were detected with strain Agrobacterium tumefaciens KYC55.Among these bacterial strains, strain C6,4,TB,BP3 and BP4 can se-cret AHLs,while strain BP2 and BP6 can’t.And the AHLs activity differs, from the highest to the lowest are 4,TB,BP4,BP3 and C6.

Aim: To study the effect of diabetes mellitus and insulin treatment on rat penile nitric oxide synthase content. Methods: Male Wistar rats were divided at random into two groups: the Control ( n = 8) and the Diabetic ( n =17). Diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. The diabetic animals were then ran domly divided into two subgroups: diabetic rats without insulin treatment ( n = 7) and diabetic rats with insulin treat ment ( n = 10). The neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) in the penile corpus cavemosum were assayed by immrmo histochemical staining with specific antibody to nNOS and the nNOS-positive nerve fibers were counted semiquantita tively under a high power microscope. Results: The nNOS- positive nerve fibres in diabetic rats with treatment was higher than that in diabetic rats without treatment ( P < 0.05) and lower than that in the controls ( P < 0.01 ). The nNOS-positive nerve fibres in diabetic rat without treatment were also lower than that in the controls ( P < 0.01). Con clusion: In streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, the nNOS content in the penile corpus cavernosum was significantly decre~ed. Insulin treatment at the dose level employed partially restores the penile nNOS content in these rats.
