Retinal pigment epithelium ( RPE ) is a vital tissue for the maintenance of photoreceptor function and environment of outer retina, also the predominant cell type of proliferative vitreoretinopathy ( PVR ) . lt is also affected by many diseases of the retina and choroid, including diabetic retinopathy ( DR) , age-related macular degeneration ( AMD ) and retinal pigmentosa ( RP ) . Although of neural origin, the RPE is capable of local repair, and cells may migrate and take on altered characteristics. These findings indicate that RPE-based therapy is a promising option for congenital or degenerate disease of the retina.

Diabetic ulcer is recognized as a chronic nonhealing wound, often associated with bacterial infection and tissue necrosis, which seriously affect patients' health and quality of life. The traditional treatment methods exist some problems, such as bacterial resistance and secondary trauma, so it is urgent to find new methods to meet the requirements of diabetic ulcer treatment. In this study, we prepared a drug delivery system (DFO@CuS nanoparticles) based on hollow copper sulfide (CuS) nanoparticles loaded with deferoxamine (DFO), which realized the synergistic therapy of promoting angiogenesis and photothermal antibacterial. The morphological structure and particle size distribution of DFO@CuS nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and particle size analyzer, respectively. The antibacterial effect of DFO@CuS nanoparticles was evaluated by the plate coating method. The effects of DFO@CuS nanoparticles on the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were evaluated by CCK-8 (cell counting kit-8) assay, cell scratch assay, and tube formation assay. The results showed that DFO@CuS nanoparticles were hollow and spherical in shape with an average particle size of (200.9 ± 8.6) nm. DFO@CuS nanoparticles could effectively inhibit the growth of methicillin-resistant

Spermiogenesis is a complex process of differentiation and morphologic alteration, in which sperm acrosome formation is an important stage. Acrosome is an essential component of the sperm head, which develops in four distinct phases: Golgi, cap, acro- somal, and maturation, each supported by precise and orderly regulation of various genes. The regulatory genes which act on Golgi ap- paratus include GOPC, Hrb, SPATA16, PICK1, and CK2α', those involved in the cap phase are Fads2, syntaxin 2, Kdm3a, and UBR7, and participating in acrosomal and maturation phases are KIFC1, Rnf19a, and DPY19L2. The abnormalities of these genes may affect male fertility by influencing the connection of the nuclear dense lamina and acroplaxome with the nuclear membrane and then the fusion and transportation of vesicles. This review focuses on the genes involved in different phases of acrosome formation.

OBJECTIVETo study the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal injury caused by magnetic foreign body ingestions in children.
METHODSA literature search was performed to identify all the studies related to gastrointestinal tract injury caused by ingesting magnetic foreign body using databases including Google, Medline, ISI Web of Knowledge, Ovid, Wanfang data, VIP, CNKI, degree dissertation, meeting abstracts, and request for document delivery. Language was limited to English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Parameters studies were age at diagnosis, gender, country, regional distribution, number of magnetic foreign bodies, source of magnetic foreign bodies, clinical features, diagnosis, and method for foreign body removal.
RESULTSA total of 98 cases of magnet ingestion were identified from 17 countries and regions. There were 94 patients under the age of 18, with most children younger than 5 years old(62.2%,61/98). The age at peak incidence was 3 years old (16.3%, 16/98). Magnetic foreign bodies ingested included toys(74.5%), medical apparatus(8.2%), accessories(4.1%), and others(6.2%). The number of bodies ranged from 2 to 100. Eleven (11.2%) patients were complicated with allotriophagia or autism. Delay diagnosis and treatment existed in all the patients to varying extents, of whom one died from severe infection. Exploratory laparotomy showed a wide range of bowel damage from the esophagus to the colon, including perforation and intestinal fistula. Intestinal damage was the most common injury (51.0%), followed by intestine-colon fistula (15.3%). All the patients required bowel resection with anastomosis or fistula repair except for 2 children who were managed by endoscopic removal of the foreign bodies.
CONCLUSIONIngesting more than one magnet will lead to severe gastrointestinal injury. Early diagnosis and surgical intervention are important. More precautious measures should be taken for children aged younger than 5 years old.

Gouty arthritis is a type of metabolic rheumatic disease caused by autoimmune abnormalities. Currently, the use of Western medicine in the clinical treatment of gouty arthritis has been associated with a high risk of adverse reactions. Therefore, there is a growing interest in exploring therapeutic drugs from traditional Chinese medicine as a potential alternative. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, gouty arthritis has been classified as damp-heat arthralgia syndrome. Shirebi granules has been found to have good clinical efficacy in treating gouty arthritis. However, its underlying pharmacological mechanisms remain unclear. To address this problem, the study first established the interaction network of candidate targets for Shirebi granules, which is used to treat damp-heat syndrome of gouty arthritis. Then, the key candidate targets of Shirebi granules for treating gouty arthritis with damp-heat syndrome were screened by calculating the topological features of the network nodes. Then, the functional mining of the key candidate targets revealed that the candidate targets of Shirebi granules may intervene in the biological process of inflammatory response and lipid metabolism through the crosstalk of Wnt/
