OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effects of myopia in children treated with abdominal acupuncture.

METHODSNinety children with myopia were randomly divided into an abdominal acupuncture group (45 cases with 90 ill eyes) and an auricular point group(45 cases with 90 ill eyes). In the abdominal acupuncture group, Zhongwan (CV 12), Shangqu(KI 17), Xiawan(CV 10), Tianshu(ST 25), Qihai(CV 6), Guanyuan(CV 4) were treated with tapping method. The needles were not retained and down to the lower in accordance with the order from Zhongwan (CV 12) to Guanyuan(CV 4) for 5 min,and the erubescence skin without blood was proper. In the auricular point group, vaccaria seeds were pasted at gan(CO12), shen(CO10),pi(CO13), wei(CO4), yan(LO5), pingjianqian(TG2i), pingjianhou(ATli) and zhen(AT3); one ear was chosen every time and the other ear the second time with pressing of patient's own for 5 min every day. The treatment was given twice a week and 10 treatments were considered as one course in the two groups. The changes of the visual levels in visual chart before treatment, 20 min after the first treatment, after 5 weeks' and 3 months' treatment were compared between the two groups,and the clinicall efficacy was compared between the two groups as well.

RESULTS(1) The visual levels in visual chart were improved in the abdominal acupuncture group and auricular point group, and the effects 20 min after the first treatment, after 5 weeks' and 3 months' treatment in the abdominal acupuncture group were superior to those in the auricular point group(4. 78±0. 16 vs 4. 69±0. 22, P<0. 01; 4. 85±0. 16 vs 4. 79±0. 21, P<0. 05; 4. 89±0. 13 vs 4. 71±0. 25, P<0. 01). (2)The effective rates 20 min after the first treatment, after 5 weeks' and 3 months' treatment in the abdominal acupuncture group were better than those in the auricular point group[31. 4% (27/86) vs 0% (0/82). 81.4%(70/86) vs 60. 0%(49/82); 88. 4%(76/86) vs 51. 2%(42/82), all P<0. 01].

CONCLUSIONAbdominal acupuncture for improving the visual levels of myopia in children is superior to auricular point sticking.

Objective:To express the EMCV 3AB gene by prokaryotic expression systerm,and prepare monoclonal antibodies against it. Method: NSP 3AB gene of Encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) was amplified and cloned into a prokaryotic expression vector pGEX-6P-1 and a recombinant protein 3AB with high antigenicity was expressed in E.coli. Balb / c mice were immunized by purified recombinant 3AB protein of inclusion-body, and the splenocytes of the immunized mice were fused with murine myeloma cells to produce hybridoma cell line. Results: After subcloning by 3 times, one strain of hybridoma cell line steadily secreting antibodies of 3AB protein was obtained, named 2D12. The McAb belongs to IgG1/?. The McAb and was confirmed by indirect immunofluorescent assay (IFA) and Western blot. Conclusion: These results can provide a potential value for structural and functional studies of EMCV-3AB and early diagnosis of Encephalomyocarditis virus infection.

Objective To estalish an accurate method for determining the content of astragaloside Ⅳ in Shouqing Granula. Method TLC scanner was selected to detect astragaloside Ⅳ with silica gela thin layer. The sample was separated by using chloroform-methanol-water (13 : 6 : 2) below 10 ℃ overnight with the under layer solution, ?_s=530 nm, ?_R=700 nm. Results The linear ranges of astragaloside Ⅳ was 0.22～ 0.73 ?g, the average recovery was 97.72%, RSD=0.69%. Conclusion The method was simple and accurate, and can be used for the quality control of Shouqing Granula.

The NSP2 gene of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV)S1 strain was partly amplified and cloned into a prokaryotic expression vector pGEX-6P-1 and a fusion protein GST-tNSP2 with molecular weight of 50 kDa was expressed in E.coli. The purified GST-tNSP2 protein showed a strong reaction with the PRRSV-positive sera in Western blot assay. Balb/c mice were immunized with the purified protein, and the splenocytes of the immunized mice were fused with murine myeloma cells SP2/0. After subcloning by 3 times, two hybridoma clones which produced McAbs steadily were screened by ELISA, named 3H3 and 2B5. They all reacted strongly with the PRRSV S1 infected Marc-145 cells in IFA, but not with the PRRSV SY0608 strain. Both of the McAbs belong to IgG1 isotype, and their light chains belong ? type. The expressed GST-tNSP2 protein and McAbs could be used for identification of PRRSV isolates and functional analysis of NSP2.

OBJECTIVETo compare therapeutic effects of acupuncture at lateral cervical Jiaji and at traditional Jiaji points on cervical spondylosis of vertebroarterial type.

METHODSSeventy-two cases of vertebroarterial type cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into a needling lateral cervical Jiaji group (n=40) and a traditional Jiaji group (n=32). After 2 courses, therapeutic effects were evaluated and ultrasound Doppler's detection of skull was conducted.

RESULTSThe therapeutic effect in the lateral cervical Jiaji group was better than that in the traditional Jiaji group (P < 0.05); And there was a significant or very significant difference between the two groups in the velocity of blood flow and the index of vascular pulsation (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThe results of acupuncture at lateral cervical Jiaji points is better than that of acupuncture at traditional Jiaji points for treatment of cervical spondylosis of vertebroarterial type.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical effects of the circumcision stapler, circumcision cerclage, and traditional circumcision in the treatment of phimosis and redundant prepuce.

METHODSUsing the circumcision stapler (group A), foreskin cerclage (group B), and traditional circumcision (group C), we treated 276 patients with phimosis or redundant prepuce. We made comparisons among the three groups in the operation time, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative and 24-hour postoperative pain scores, and incidence of postoperative complications. Results: The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, and intraoperative pain score were (6.52 ± 2.45) min, (1.93 ± 0.82) ml, and 1.37 ± 0.68 in group A and (7.24 ± 1.86) min, (1.51 ± 0.72) ml, and 1.20 ± 0.79 in group B, all significantly lower than (28. 36 ± 4.22) min, (9.52 ± 3.29) ml, and 3.06 ± 0.75 in group C (P <0.05). The 24-hour postoperative pain score was remarkably higher in group B than in A and C (3. 18 ± 0. 82 vs 1. 85 ± 0. 63 and 1. 82 ± 0. 75, P <0. 05). The incidence rate of postoperative complications was markedly lower in group A than in B (5. 43% vs 14. 13%, P < 0.05), but with no significant differences between either A and C or B and C (P >0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe circumcision stapler, with its advantages of simple operation, minimal invasiveness, fewer complications, and better cosmetic result, deserves a wider clinical application.

With further reseaches and applications of thermosensitive gel, the modes and mechanisms of it were discovered and poited out, drug release models were also established step by step. Resesrches on drug release mechanisms and modes of thermosensitive gel will make it applied better in fields of medicine and biology.

OBJECTIVETo compare the roles of Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using the liver acquisition with volume acceleration(LAVA) sequence and diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI) in the detection of hepatic metastases sized ≤3 cm.

METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed the MRI data of 16 patients with hepatic metastases. All the sequences used included T1WI, T2WI,3D-LAVA, and DWI (b value=500 s/mm(2)). All patients were divided into two groups based on the sequences: group A (T1WI, T2WI, and 3D-LAVA enhanced MR) and group B(T1WI,T2WI and DWI). The hepatic metastases were evaluated by analyzing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves.

RESULTSA total of 39 hepatic metastatic lesions were identified. The sensitivity, specificity, Youden index and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) were 97.4%, 88.2%, 0.856, and 0.944 in group A and 82.1%, 91.2%, 0.733, and 0.834 in group B. The ROC curves (p=0.040) and Youden index(p=0.043) in group A were significantly larger than in group B.

CONCLUSIONGadolinium-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI has higher accuracy than DWI in the detection of small metastases.
