Objective To probe into the relation of expressions of HIF-1α, VEGF and EGFR in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with radiation therapy efficacy. Methods 73 of the patients with carcinoma of oesophagus from January , 2011 to May , 2014 in the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University , were involved in this research , their clinical data reviewed and analyzed. Before radiotherapy , immunohistochemical SP was used to test expressions of HIF-1α, VEGF and EGFR in the cancer tissues. Relationships between the expressions and the efficiency of radiotherapy were analyzed. Results The positive expressions of HIF-1α, VEGF and EGFR were 70.0%, 84.9% and 80.8%, respectively. In terms of the single factor analysis related to recent curative effects, HIF-1α expression had significant correlation with recent curative effects (P=0.03). Conversely , multiplicity indicated that HIF-1α and EGFR expressions were notably associated with recent curative effects (P=0.007, 0.045, respectively). Conclusions The positive expressions of HIF-1α,VEGF and EGFR in the esophageal carcinoma may account for a largest proportion of the total. HIF-1α and EGFR expressions are associated with the short-term outcomes.

OBJECTIVETo establish and evaluate a mouse model of bronchial asthma with Yin deficiency syndrome.
METHODSThe mouse model of bronchial asthma with Yin deficiency syndrome was established by the treatment with injecting ovalbumin (OVA) two times to sensitize, inhaling OVA 14 times to stimulate, and using thyroxin through lavage during late stimulation. This model was evaluated through body weight, asthmatic behaviors, respiratory function, autonomous activity, lung pathology, and pulmonary fluid clearance.
RESULTSOVA combined with thyroxin was an appropriate method to induce the mouse model with increased food and water intake, autonomous activity, asthmatic behaviors score, and respiratory rate, decreased body weight, tidal volume, and wet/dry ratio of lung, and changed with pathology of lung tissue. The changes of the above mentioned parameters indicated that the model was the bronchial asthma with Yin deficiency syndrome.
CONCLUSIONThe OVA combined with thyroxin is a good pattern to establish a mouse model of bronchial asthma with Yin deficiency syndrome successfully, which can highly simulate the clinical symptoms of this disease.

The applicator therapy is a unique method to treat infant diarrhea in traditional Chinese medicines and widely applied in clinical practice. Currently, many researchers have proved the rationality of the therapy based on the traditional Chinese medicine mechanism and on the data from clinical practice, but its action mechanism is uncertain at present. In this study, with the assistance of pediatric practitioners, the automated ribosomal intergenic-spacer analysis (ARISA) was adopted to study the effect of the adjuvant therapy with Dingguier umbilical paste on intestinal flora of diarrhea infants, in which Dingguier umbilical paste served as the adjuvant therapy in oral traditional Chinese medicines and fecal samples of infants with different diarrhea symptoms were collected and used as the study materials. The results showed that the adjuvant therapy had a significant effect on the shift of intestinal flora, which was associated with the decrease in the similarity difference to the normal control group and the increase in the number of operational taxonomic units (OTUs) shared with the normal control group. Additionally, adjuvant therapy with Dingguier umbilical paste also showed long action duration and increased OTUs number. These results indicated that Dingguier umbilical paste has the effect in restoring the micro-ecosystem of unbalanced intestinal bacteria. Intestinal flora may be one of major targets for the applicator therapy for the infant diarrhea, but not for the single oral traditional Chinese medicine for infant diarrhea.

Clinically nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas are the most common types among pituitary adenomas. These tumors are usually diagnosed in their later stages due to the absence of clinical symptoms and detectable hormonal hypersecretion. Although these tumors are benign, they are hard to be completely removed during neurosurgery due to the massive invasion into the surrounding tissues at diagnosis. Furthermore, relapse is common. In recent years, medical treatment of pituitary adenomas has witnessed a rapid development. New medications have shown certain effectiveness in reducing the tumor size and improving the clinical symptoms.
