Journal of Interventional Radiology 2006;0(10):-
Hepatic artery stricture (HAS) after liver transplantation can lead directly to transplanted liver function exhaustion and complications of biliary system. The early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for better prognosis. Doppler ultrasound is the first method of choice, and angiography can give further clear dignosis. The balloon dilatation is still effective for hepatic arterial stenosis. With the more adaptable usage of oronary stent, if possible, would reveal more promising result especially for tortuous stenotic hepatic artery. The vascular reconstruction or repeated liver transplantation is still the effective therapeutic methods.

Objective To analyze the clinical features of rectal and perianal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor and evaluate its diagnosis and treatment.Method Clinicopathological data of 3 cases diagnosed as inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor from January,2005 to June,2011 were retrospectively reviewed. Results Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor presents as infiltrative growth mass with rich vascularization on CT or MRI,and is difficult to distinguish from hemangioma and other rectal tumors.Preoperative biopsy usually fails to ascertain the entity of mass, and pathological examination of the whole resected specimen with immunohistochemical staining is needed to make final diagnosis. All 3 cases underwent sphincter preserving surgery. One case received a second radical operation 16 months after primary resection because of local recurrence. All patients are followed up to now, with a survival time of 67 months,55 months, and 35 months respectively. Conclusions Rectal and perianal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is difficult to diagnose on preoperative imaging examinations or biopsy.Immunohistochemical staining is needed to make final diagnosis.Sphincter preserving surgery with complete tumor removal could achieve long term survival.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the H2O2-induced expression of human histone acetyltransferase-like protein (hALP), a telomerase regulation-associated gene, and its effects on the stress-triggered cellular senescence.
METHODSThe induced expression of hALP was measured by semi-quantitative RT-PCR and immunofluorescent histochemistry after treatment of HeLa cells by H2O2. The effects of hALP expression on cellular responses to H2O2 were analyzed by MTT, flowcytometry, and SA-beta-gal staining, respectively.
RESULTShALP mRNA could be dose-dependently induced by treatments of 0.2-1.6 mmol/L H2O2, and the induction could be observed after 6 hours and kept for 36 hours in the presence of 0.4 mmol/L H2O2. Meanwhile, the immunofluorescent staining showed marked stronger nuclear intensity of hALP protein in H2O2-treated HeLa cells. In the treatment of H2O2, the ectopic expression of hALP enhanced continuous growth and overcame G2/M arrest as well as decreased senescence-associated beta-gal staining. On the contrary, the transfected clones with antisense or blank vector and original He-La cells presented growth suppression, G2/M delay and higher percentage of SA-beta-gal activities in the presence of H2O2.
CONCLUSIONSThe expression of hALP could be up-regulated by treatment of H2O2, and elevated expression could enhance cellular resistance to H2O2-induced cellular senescence. The data might be of references to elucidation of basic biological function of hALP gene and its associated telomerase activity.

Objective: To study the relationship between vitamin A (VA) supplementation and the level of IgG antibody to measles strengthened vaccination. Method: Fifty-three school children aged 5-13 years were selected as the test group of VA supplementation, and fifty-two school children as the control group whose ages and sex matched with the test group. The test group was supplicd po the VA pills (2 500IU) at the same time with measles strengthened vaccination for one month. The level of serum VA was analyzed by HPLC. Measles antibody IgG was detected by ELISA. Results: One month after VA supplementation, sernm VA in test group was 376.5?74.2 ?g/L, showing statistical increase over before. The positive rates of measles antibody in the test group were increased from 69.8% to 100%, and the protective rate from 5.6% to 60.4%. The positive rates of measles antibody in the control group were increased from 71.2% to 100%, and the protective rates from 0% to 17.4%. The protective rate in the test group was statistically higher than the control. Conclusion: Simultaneous VA supplementation (especially for the children of VA deficiency) and measles strengthened vaccination contribute to the increase of measles antibody IgG in school children.

To investigate the feasibility to produce crocetin in tobacco plants. The coding region of zeaxanthin cleavage dioxygenase (CSzCD) gene from Crocus sativus L. was inserted into the downstream of the cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S promoter of a binary vector pBI121, and integrated into the genome of Nicotiana tabacum L. Twenty-one transgenic lines were identified by genomic southern blotting analysis. Western blotting and HPLC analysis of the leaf extracts of transgenic tobacco showed that crocetin was produced in CSzCD gene-transformed plants, while no crocetin was found in the untransformed tobacco.
