This paper reports 20 patients with cryptococcal meningitis, which were misdiagnosed before anti-fungal therapy, and the majority of them was diagnosed as tuberculous meningitis or viral meningitis. These patients were treated either with amphotericin B or fluconazale alone,or in combina- tion with flucytosine respectively,of the 15 patients could be evaluated,10 were cured(66.7%),2 im- proved(13.3%),3 died(20%),1 relapsed(10%).The mortality rate among the under age group and the aged group was significantly higher than that of the adult group(71.4% vs 23%).It is the authors' experience that in the early stage intrathecal amphotericin B combines with intravenous fluoconazole and changes to oral fluconazole or itraconazole in the later stage may be a valuable approach for cryptococcal meningitis.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(05):-
To measure the relative affinity and type Specificity of neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against the hexon antigen of adenovirus type 7,a simple ELISA double antibody binding system has been developed.By this method, ralative affinity of nine MAbs was estimated from the antibody concentrations at approximately 50% of plateau binding and were ranked. The theoretical basis for this method was discussed. Hybridomas secreting antibodies of desired affinity can be selected at an early stage after fussion by measuring relative affinity of hybridomas supernatants. The type specificity was judged by the difference between end-point concentration against adeno- virus type 7 and type 3.And the relation between affinity and specificity of MAbs was discussed.

Objective To investigate the DNA typing, observe relationship between DNA fingerprinting patterns and serotypes of Cryptococcus neoformans, and find a suitable genotyping standard for Cryptococcus neoformans. Methods Three primers, including CN 1(GTG) 5, CN 2(GACA) 4 and CN 3(GATA) 4, were used to distinguish variations among strains of C.neoformans. Results The distinguishable fingerprinting bands for serotype of C.neoformans were yielded by primer CN 2. Using this primer, of 24 clinical and environmental isolates of serotype A of C.neoformans and 8 standard strains investigated by PCR, 20 strains produced complete identical fingerprinting patterns, the other 4 strains had different fingerprinting patterns. 2 strains of serotype B and C yielded indistinguishable fingerprinting patterns. Conclusions ①The majority of strains of serotype A had similar and stable fingerprinting patterns. ②Some strains of serotype B and C had an indistinguishable fingerprinting patterns. ③The same serotype strains from different sources may produce different DNA fingerprinting patterns. ④The DNA fingerprinting is a rapid, simple and feasible method for identifying Cryptococcus neoformans.

Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of laparoscopic radical cystectomy with orthotopic ileal neobladder (LRC-INB) vs open radical cystectomy (ORC-INB). Methods A total of 81 patients were evaluated including 33 undergoing LRC-INB (group A) and 48,ORC-INB (group B) from June 1994 to September 2004 at our institution. The parameters for analysis included operative time, surgical method, blood loss, therapeutic effect, complications and hospital stay.Statistics included t-test and chi-square analysis (P

China Pharmacy 2001;0(10):-
OBJECTIVE:To strengthen the inspection for qualification of new drugs when introduced in order to guarantee the quality of new drugs and the safety of drug use.METHODS:The problems existing in the inspection for qualification of new drugs were exemplified and classified.RESULTS&CONCLUSION:There existed the problems in the respect of validity, authenticity, effectiveness, and integrality. The good maintainance of the database of SFDA plays a important role in in-specting the new drugs when introduced, while on the other hand such issues as establishment and use of credibility file in medical agencies are worth discussing.

China Pharmacy 1991;0(04):-
OBJECTIVE:To facilitate the in-depth implementation of Prescription Administrative Policy("New Method" in short).METHODS:The change of the Prescription Administrative Policy and its problems were analyzed through comparison between the "New Method" and the trial edition.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:Improvements of Prescription Administrative Policy such as the introduction of prescription comment system, clarifying supervising subjects and strengthening requirement on prescription dispensing rights etc play a role in tightening comprehensive management on prescriptions and promoting rational drug use. However, the defects of Prescription Administrative Policy such as the absence of the regulations unsuitable for medical orders in retail pharmacy and endemic areas and the unidentified prescription forms need to be improved step by step in the practice.

Objective:To study the cognitive function and brain white matter fiber change in major depressive patients prior and post-treatment.Methods:Eleven major depressed patients were given antidepressants for 10 weeks, and their conditions were evaluated using 24-item Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD).The cognitive function was determined by using Wisconsin Card Sorting Test(WCST),part of Wechsler memory scale and diffusion tensor ima- ging(DTI)was scanned before and after treatment.11 healthy people as control group were involved and given the same tests at the same time.Results:(1)The WCST scores of patients increased significantly after treatment(prior treatment Cc:1.6?1.6,Re:67.9?20.0,Rpe:51.5?24.8;post treatment Ce:4.0?2.1,Re:43.2?18.8,Rpe:22.8?16.0,P=0.001/0.000/0.003).There was no difference in number sequence memory in Wechsler memory scale. No difference was found between patients after treatment and control group in either WCST or number sequence memory. The patients made significant improvement in the total score of HAMD after treatment(16?14/54?13,t=6.60,P
