2.Study on clinical characteristics and related factors of hydatidiform mole at Hue Central Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;472(2):11-14
54 cases of hydatidiform mole pregnancy were studied at the Department of Gynecology and Obsterics of the Central Hospital from June 2000 to July 2001, in comparing with 124 cases of normal immature delivery of living neonate. A high rate of clinical symptoms were noted including vaginal hemorrhage in the first trimester, a more unterine height than in normal fetal age, anemia, severe vomit, pre-eclampsia, hyperthyroidism, luteino-adenoma cyst of > 5 cm diametre. There is a positive relation between vaginal bleeding, uterine height before the curettage and the state of luteino adenoma cyst with Chorio complication. Related factors of hydatidiform mole pregnancy were nutritional status, occupation, age, history of abortment and water source hygiene.

3.Rubella infection and pregnancy
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2005;10(5):289-292
Studying the harmful effects of Rubella infection in pregnant women. Adults and children were infected rubella virus through upper respiratory tract. In pregnant women, virus in blood stream go through placenta and infected in some cells of fetus, caused congenital defects such as deafness (58%), ocular abnormalities (13%), heart defects (13%). Definite diagnosis based on paraclinical tests because of clinical symptoms weren’t valuable. Isolation of rubella virus in throat mucus, urine, and others were not frequent, this test commonly carried out in suspected congenital rubella syndrome. Serological diagnosis was used most commonly: IgG (+) indicating there was an immune response with rubella. It’s very important to define exactly new infected pregnancy, based on the increase of IgG titer or the presence of specific serum IgM in only serum sample. The best prevention measure is vaccination before pregnancy

5.Gait analysis of accident hemispheric vascular cerebral patients by skelet software
Journal of Medical Research 2005;39(6):56-60
The accidents vascular cerebral and it's severe sequelae in movements have changed a patient's gait by certain pattern. To evaluate and correct the gait disorders, the study was conducted aim to objectives: 1) Analyze the gait of normal and of stroke subjects, 2) Find out the correlation between moving balance abilities and joint angles. Method: joint angles at lower extremity in.ambulance of 33 stroke patients and 79 normal subjects of the same age and body height have been analyzed by Skelet software designed by Hanoi Polytechnics Institute authors. Results: the patient's ankle almost in dorsiflexion in walking. The knee has been limited in flexion at swinging and reduced in extension in push of. The hip has been less flexed at swinging and less extended at standing. These joint angle's changes were closely correlated to patient's balancing and moving abilities, (r = 0.67). Conclusion: In case group, the ankle is more in plantar flexion; as well as the knee's and the hip flexion is more notable in patients comparing with control group. The alterations of joint angle are correlative with patient's mobility and balance.

Background: Pediatric closed abdominal trauma is a common disease in surgical practice, in which spleen is the most vulnerable organ. As adults, diagnosis of pediatric splenic trauma is not difficult but treatment attitude of splenic trauma in children having more important differences compared with in adults, tending to conservative treatment without surgery. Objectives: To assess the results of pediatric splenic trauma treatment in Hue Central Hospital from 2001 to 2005. Subjects and method: To study on 43 pediatric patients (23 male, 20 female), mean age 11.35\xb13.51 years, were diagnosed with splenic trauma due to closed abdominal trauma, treated in Hue Central Hospital from September, 2001 to September, 2006. Results: 72.1% hospitalized patients with maximum blood pressure in normal limitation. There was not a statistic significant association between hypotension and indicated surgery. The rate of patients with splenic trauma due to traffic accidents, living accidents and sport activities were 62.8%, 32.6% and 4.7%, respective. 2 patients with combined traumatic brain injury without surgery (4.65%), 3 patients with combined hand fracture (6.97%). 3 patients in conservative treatment group changed to surgery (8.33%). A total of 76.7% patients treated with successful conservation. Conclusion: More than 60% patients with splenic trauma caused by traffic accidents and having stable hemodynamic index during hospitalization. The difference between position of splenic trauma and rupture degree of spleen both in surgical treatment group and successful conservative treatment group is statistically significant.

Globally, providing evidence on the economic burden of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is becoming essential as it assists the health authorities to efficiently allocate resources. This study aimed to summarize the literature on economic burden evidence for COPD from 1990 to 2019. This study examined the economic burden of COPD through a systematic review of studies from 1990 to 2019. A search was done in online databases, including Web of Science, PubMed/Medline, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library. After screening 12,734 studies, 43 articles that met the inclusion criteria were identified. General study information and data on direct, indirect, and intangible costs were extracted and converted to 2018 international dollars (Int$). Findings revealed that the total direct costs ranged from Int$ 52.08 (India) to Int$ 13,776.33 (Canada) across 16 studies, with drug costs rannging from Int$ 70.07 (Vietnam) to Int$ 8,706.9 (China) in 11 studies. Eight studies explored indirect costs, while one highlighted caregivers’ direct costs at approximately Int$ 1,207.8 (Greece). This study underscores the limited research on COPD caregivers’ economic burdens, particularly in developing countries, emphasizing the importance of increased research support, particularly in high-resource settings. This study provides information about the demographics and economic burden of COPD from 1990 to 2019. More strategies to reduce the frequency of hospital admissions and acute care services should be implemented to improve the quality of COPD patients’ lives and reduce the disease’s rising economic burden.

This paper describes progress on formulating a national asbestos profile for the country of Vietnam. The Center of Asbestos Resource, Vietnam, formulated a National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health, with due reference to the International Labor Organization/World Health Organization National Asbestos Profile. The Center of Asbestos Resource was established by the Vietnamese Health Environment Management Agency and the National Institute of Labor Protection, with the support of the Australian Agency for International Development, as a coordinating point for asbestos-related issues in Vietnam. Under the National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health framework, the Center of Asbestos Resource succeeded in compiling relevant information for 15 of the 18 designated items outlined in the International Labor Organization/World Health Organization National Asbestos Profile, some overlaps of the information items notwithstanding. Today, Vietnam continues to import and use an average of more than 60,000 metric tons of raw asbestos per year. Information on asbestos-related diseases is limited, but the country has begun to diagnose mesothelioma cases, with the technical cooperation of Japan. As it stands, the National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health needs further work and updating. However, we envisage that the National Profile on Asbestos-related Occupational Health will ultimately facilitate the smooth transition to an asbestos-free Vietnam.

Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging 2019;53(2):83-85
The foundations of nuclear medicine in Vietnam were established from 1970. Until now, after 48 years of development, in Vietnam, we have some basic equipment including 31 SPECT, 4 SPECT/CT machines, 11 PET/CT scanners, five cyclotrons, and one nuclear reactor. Many nuclearmedicine techniques in diagnosis and treatment have been routinely performed at provincial and central level health facilities such as tumor scintigraphy, thyroid scintigraphy, bone scintigraphy, kidney scintigraphy, cardiac scintigraphy, and radio-isotope therapy with I-131 and P-32. Selective internal radiation therapy with Y-90 microsphere and I-125 radioactive seed implantation has been also successfully applied in some big hospitals. However, there are still many difficulties for Vietnam as the lack of new widely used radioisotopes such as Ga-67, Cu-64, Samarium-153, and Lutetium-177 and the lack of nuclear medicine specialists. In the future, we are putting our efforts on the applications of new isotopes in diagnosis and treatment of cancers (theranostic) like Ga-68-DOTATATE, Lutetium-177-DOTATATE, Ga-68-PSMA, and Lutetium-177-PSMA, equipping modern nuclear medicine diagnostic tools, strengthening the human resources training in nuclear medicine. At the same time, we are trying our best to strengthen the cooperation with international nuclear medicine societies in over the world.
