Lagerstroemia speciosa Pers,also known as banaba,belongs to Lythraceae and contains ursolic acid,corosolic ac?id,asiatic acid and 30 other kinds of effective components.It has multiple pharmacological activities,including hypoglycemic,hypo?lipidemic,anti-oxidant and anti-viral activities,and is mainly used for the treatment of obesity and diabetes in folk medcine.This re?view summarizes the recent advances in chemical composition and pharmacological effects of L.speciosa Pers,so as to provide the theo?retical basis and reference for its further research and application.

Objective To study the relationship between peripheral blood hemoglobin (HB) and blood pres- sure.Methods We performed a cross-sectional analysis in 1153 subjects aged 29-83 years.Waist circumfer- ence,HB,blood pressure,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C),triglycerides (TG),total cholesterol (TC) were determined.Results ①With the increasing of blood pres- sure,HB had a clearly increasing trend (HB,normotensive:137.5?14.7 vs prehypertension:143.4?14.4 vs hy- pertension:144.3?13.8 g/L,P

OBJECTIVETo classify the clinical symptoms of oligodontia and summarize the characteristics of the diseases.

METHODS33 patients with congenitally permanent teeth missing (6 or more than 6) were taken clinical examination, diagnosis, prosthetic treatment and made records of the status of tooth agenesis, systemic symptoms, and family history.

RESULTSThe symptoms of oligodontia were clinically classified into two groups: oligodontia with or without systemic syndromes. And the former has two typical kinds of diseases: anhidrotic/hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (EDA) and Rieger syndrome.

CONCLUSIONSCorrect diagnosis and early treatment for these patients are of very importance.
