1.Determinining the thrydoid volume of healthy aldult by Multi slice computer tomographyin comparision to ultrasound
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2007;17(6):43-50
Background: Currently there is a few research on thyroid volume determined by computer tomography scanner (CT-scanner)
', u'Objectives: to add and to develop normal thyroid indicators by CT scanner method.
', u'Subjects and method: Researchers determined thyroid volume in 45 normal persons (27 males, 18 females) in Bach Mai Hospital by Multi slice computer tomography (MSCT). The control ultrasound group has 1845 persons (living in Hanoi and Khanh Hoa. All of them were clinically tested with normal thyroid.
', u'Results: The result of measurement by ultrasound and MSCT in the comparison (both two genders) as follow:
', u'The width of the right and left lobe of thyroid measured by ultrasound were bigger than those measured by MSCT (p<0.05 as T-test). The depth of the right and the left lobe of thyroid measured by ultrasound were smaller than those measured by MSCT (p<0.05 as T-test). The length of the right and left lobe of thyroid measured by both methods gave nearly the same result (p>0.05 as T-test). In three formulas measuring thyroid volume according to ellipse, the V3=0.479 a.b.c formula shows the results which nearly same as those by MSCT directly.
', u'Conclusion: Thyroid volume measured by MSCT in this study is smaller than the result of some foreign studies (p <0.05).
', u'
', u'
', u'

2.The determination of thyroid gland volume and imaging diagnosis of basedow disease by ultrasound
Journal of Medical Research 2008;0(1):19-25
Background/Introduction: While manual clinical and imaging diagnosis methods expose their shortcomings such as errors, ultrasound becomes an appropriate technique for the measurement of the thyroid volume.
', u'Objectives: We determine the thyroid in patient with Basedow disease by ultrasonography before radioiodine, diameter, measurement of thyroid volume, and the lesion echogenicity.
', u'Subjects and method: The study groups consist of 264 patients, in which there are 53 men (20.07%) and 211 women (79.92%), in Bach Mai Hospital. The youngest is 16 years old and the oldest is 73. With a medium age of (42.97  12.06) years (range from 16 to 73). The most common group ranging from 40 to 50 years of age, equivalent to a number of 80 patients (30.30%). Surveyed participants include 1845 people with normal thyroid. All of them underwent ultrasound scans with a 7.5 MHZ transducer. This is a prospective study.
', u'Results/Outcomes: The average volume of thyroid is (37.03  19.77) ml compared to the group with approximate thyroid volumes (p > 0.05 based on the ANOVA). Basedow patients’ thyroid volumes tends to be bigger at the adult age, and were bigger than those of normal people (p = 0.0001 t test). 138 (52.27%) surveyed patients had diffuse injuries. 126 patients (47.73%) have thyroid glands which contained multiple nodules. 197 (96.57%) of them had nodules that were
', u'solid echodense and echomix, and 35 (16.36%) had calcifications.
', u'Conclusion: Ultrasonography (US) has become an important asset in thedetermination of thyroid volume at referred for 131I treatment and the evaluation of thyroid nodules of patients with Basedows’ disease associated with nodules. These data suggest the value of surgery in Basedows’ disease associated with nodules, to eliminate the risk of malignancy.
', u'

3.Assessing the change of ultrasonic image and the thyroid volume in Basedow patients
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(11):30-33
The thyroid volume and ultrasonic image of 356 healthy adults and 133 Basedow patients were assessed. The results are as follow: Thyroid gland of Basedow patients has low, diffusive echo and no steady border... These volumes are bigger than that of healthy adults (39.18ml+/-19.02ml, n=133 vs 12.06+/-4.07, n=356), p<0.0001.

4.Study on the thyroid of healthy adult people by computer tomography
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;4():29-32
The authors determined the length, width and depth of thyroid lobe and thyroid volume by computer tomography (CT). Results: there was no statistically significant difference in the width of right lobe with that that of left one (p>0.05), but the length and depth of right lobe is higher than those of left one (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the volume between two lobes as well as between male and female (p>0.05), but in general the volume of right lobe is higher than that of left one.

Background: Suicide continues to be a leading cause of death worldwide. Recently, more than 45,000 children in the age group of 10 to 19 years died by suicide, making it the second leading cause of death in the age group of 15 to 19, surpassed only by traffic accidents, tuberculosis, and fighting. Objective: To determine the prevalence of suicidal ideation among adolescents whose parents are separated/divorced; and to explore the factors associated with suicidal ideation and describe adverse experiences among adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 309 adolescents with separated/separated parents in Hue City. Data was collected through direct interviews using a structured questionnaire. Suicidal ideation was defined as the presence of thoughts or plans related to suicide within the last 12 months. Multivariate logistic regression was applied to identify factors associated with suicidal ideation in adolescents with separated/ separated parents. Results: The study found that 15.5% (95% CI:11.7 - 20.1) of adolescents with separated /separated parents reported experiencing suicidal thoughts, in which men accounted 8.4% (95% CI:5.6 – 11.2) and women accounted 7.1% (95% CI:4.5 - 10.6). Several factors were identified as increasing the risk of suicidal ideation, including alcohol use (OR = 3.24; 95% CI:1.42 - 7.42), hyperactivity/inattention (OR = 4.96; 95% CI:1.58 - 15.605), and a poor quality of family relationships (OR = 4.82; 95% CI:1.26 - 18.50). On the contrary, certain factors were found to reduce the risk, including being in the 14-15 age group of 14-15 (OR = 0.26; 95% CI:0.10 - 0.69) and participating in physical activity (OR = 0.44; 95% CI:0.21 – 0.94). Conclusions: The research highlights a significant percentage of adolescents with separated / divided parents who experience suicidal ideation. Therefore, it is imperative for families, schools, and society to develop comprehensive strategies to monitor and address various risky behaviours among students simultaneously.

Objectives:
Asymptomatic infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and test re-positivity after a negative test have raised concerns about the ability to effectively control the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. We aimed to investigate the prevalence of COVID-19 asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic infections during the second wave of COVID-19 in Viet Nam, and to better understand the duration of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the dynamics between the evolution of clinical symptoms and SARS-CoV-2 test positivity among confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Methods:
We conducted a cohort analysis on the first 50 confirmed cases during the second COVID-19 wave in Viet Nam using clinical, laboratory and epidemiological data collected from 9 March to 30 April 2020. Kaplan-Meier estimates were used to assess time to clearance of SARS-CoV-2 infection, and log-rank tests were used to explore factors related to time to SARS-CoV-2 infection clearance.
Results:
Most cases (58%) had no typical signs or symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of diagnosis. Ten cases (20%) were re-positive for SARS-CoV-2 during infection. Eight cases (16%) experienced COVID-19 symptoms after testing negative for SARS-CoV-2. The median duration from symptom onset until clearance of infection was 14 days (range: 6–31); it was longer in re-positive and older patients and those with pre-existing conditions.
Conclusion
Asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic infections were common during the second wave of COVID-19 in Viet Nam. Re-positivity was frequent during hospitalization and led to a long duration of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
