Background: With the development of HIV/AIDS pandemic in community, amount of HIV/AIDS people more and more increase in prison. Objectives: Determine the rate of HIV/AIDS infection of prisoners at Binh Dien prison. Learning about related elements to HIV/AIDS infection. Subjects and method: Prisoners at Binh Dien prison. Method: 492 prisoners were chosen, interviewed directly and taken blood samples to HIV test. Using cross-sectional study on accidental samples. Techniques were used in this study: SERODIA-HIV and ELISA technique. Results: The rate of current HIV/AIDS infections was 21,74%, some HIV/AIDS related factors in the prison included sex, religion, income source, marrital status, common knowledge of HIV/AIDS, drug addiction history, needle sharing, sexually transmitted disease history, body tatoos and forskin inserted with metal balls, alcohol and beer drinking history, some factors such as: age and educational level were not associated with HIV/AIDS infection in prison. Conclusion: Strengthen interventional activities in prison to prevent HIV/AIDS spread between prisoners. To prisoners who were not infected HIV/AIDS: strengthen educational communication to they may prevent themselves from HIV/AIDS infection behaviors. To HIV/AIDS prisoners: Need to educate and consult especially to they have right behaviors, prevent HIV/AIDS spread for the others while they were in prison as well as they return to society.

Chinese Medical Journal 2003;116(9):1318-1320
OBJECTIVETo confirm the close relationship of high co-infection rate between HIV and hepatitis virus in intravenous drug users (i.v.DUs).
METHODSAnti-HIV, HBV and HCV were detected by ELISA in the serum from 35 scattered and 15 massed i.v.DUs. PCR and RT-PCR were performed to confirm the infection of HIV, HBV, HCV, HGV and TTV among the 15 massed intravenous drug abusers.
RESULTSAmong the 50 i.v.DUs, the positive rates of anti-HCV1 HBsAg, anti-HBe and anti-HBc were 92% (46/50), 12% (6/50), 10% (5/50) and 66% (33/50), respectively. In the samples of HBsAg positive, their HBeAg was also positive. Although the positive rate of serum markers was different in the massed i.v.DUs compared to the scattered i.v.DUs, no significant difference was shown. In the cases of massed i.v.DUs, the positive rates of HIV DNA, HBV-DNA, HCV-RNA, HGV-RNA, and TTV-DNA were 100% (15/15), 26.6% (4/15), 53.3% (8/15), 33.3% (5/15) and 26.6% (4/15), respectively. Among the 15 massed intravenous drug users, one was infected with HIV, HBV, HCV, HGV and TTV; two were infected with HIV, HBV, HCV and HGV; three were infected only with HIV; and the remaining had other forms of co-infection.
CONCLUSIONThe co-infection rate of HIV, HBV, HCV, HGV and TTV in intravenous drug users is very high.

OBJECTIVETo explore the efficacy of Ruiyun procedure for hemorrhoids (RPH) combined with Xiaozhiling injection in the treatment of hemorrhoids complicated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and its influence on cellular immune function.
METHODSClinical data of 76 hemorrhoid patients, including 36 positive HIV and 40 negative HIV, undergoing RPH combined with Xiaozhiling injections in our center from January 2010 to December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical efficacy and cellular immune function preoperative day 1, postoperative day 7, 30 were compared between positive and negative groups.
RESULTSRecurrence rates of positive group and negative group postoperative 6 months were 22.2% (8/36) and 22.5% (9/40), postoperative 1 year were 30.6% (11/36) and 30.0% (12/40) without significant differences (all P>0.05). Morbidity of postoperative complication was also not significantly different between two groups (P>0.05). According to HIV classification, peripheral lymph cell ratio, CD4 count, CD4/CD8, white blood cell count and neutrophil ratio were not significantly different between preoperative day 1 and postoperative day 7 in both groups (all P>0.05). Decreasing velocity and amplitude of CD4 in both groups from high to low was HIV III, HIV II, HIV I, HIV-, while after 30 days the increase of CD4 from high to low was HIV-, HIV I, HIV II, HIV III, which were significantly different as compared to postoperative day 7 (all P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSRPH combined with Xiaozhiling injection in the treatment of hemorrhoids complicated with HIV infection is effective and safe. Postoperative inhibited cellular immune function can recover quickly.

Cryptococcal meningitis has become the largest cause for the death of infectious diseases in the central nervous system infectious disease worldwide. Most patients with cryptococcal meningitis have AIDS, autoimmune diseases, hematologic malignancies, and some other relevant diseases. It is mainly caused by infection with

9.Anesthetic Considerations for the HIV-Infected Pregnant Patient.
Yonsei Medical Journal 2004;45(1):1-6
It has been reported that women of childbearing age constitute a large percentage of the new cases of HIV/AIDS infection. Consequently, it is not uncommon to find pregnant women who are HIV positive. Because of the increased prevalence of HIV infection in pregnant women, many anesthesiologists encounter these patients in their practices. Infection with HIV in pregnancy often raises questions about the safety of regional anesthesia in these patients. This controversy first began when it was suggested that the introduction of a spinal needle in an HIV-infected parturient would spread the disease into the CNS, leading to the development of neurological sequelae of this disease. Nevertheless, recent analysis of the problem has shown HIV infection should not contraindicate regional anesthesia.

OBJECTIVETo study hepatitis C virus infection and related factors among newly reported HIV infections in Henan province.
METHODSBoth HIV-1 BED incidence and anti-HCV tests were applied on newly reported HIV-1 infections between 1 Jul. 2012 to 30 Jun. 2013 in Henan province.
RESULTS2049 HIV-1 infections were newly reported between 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013 in Henan province, with the positive rate of anti-HCV as 14.87% (271/1 887) and the proportion of BED positives was 26.34% (497/1 887). The recent HIV-1 infections appeared lower HCV prevalence than non-recent HIV-1 infection. Among 20-39 age group, HIV-1 infections had a lower HCV prevalence than among the other age groups. Patients carrying HIV-1 through injecting drug use showed higher HCV prevalence.
CONCLUSIONUnder results on BED; age, infection route and area were influencing factors of HCV prevalence in newly reported HIV-1 infections in Henan province, suggesting that corresponding prevention programs should be targeted.
