1.Intervention effect of health education combined with aerobic exercise on adolescent depression

Objective:
To explore the intervention effect of health education combined with aerobic exercise on adolescent depression,and to provide a reference for depression prevention of adolescents.
Methods:
A total of 84 adolescent patients with depression in Wuhan Mental Health Center were selected by convenient sampling method. They were divided into two groups according to the order of patients visits (n=42). The control group received routine health education. The experimental group received group health education of emotional intelligence, and cooperated with moderate intensity aerobic exercise. The changes of depression, emotional intelligence and serotonin (5-HT), cortisol and norepinephrine (NE) levels before and after intervention were compared between the two groups.
Results:
Before intervention, there was no significant difference in scores of Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS) between the two groups (t=0.62,1.02,P>0.05). The scores of HAMD and SDSS in the experimental group were significantly lower than those before intervention (t=9.62, 10.05, P<0.05). The scores of HAMD and SDSS in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (t=-6.95,-7.32,P<0.05). The scores and total scores of emotional perception, self-management and other management in the experimental group after intervention were significantly higher than those before intervention (t=6.54, 7.21, 5.33 ,6.60, P<0.05). The scores of emotion perception, self-management, others’ management and total scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). compared with before intervention, the levels of 5-HT and NE in the experimental group after intervention were significantly higher, the levels of cortisol were significantly lower (t=4.62, 5.36,-16.54, P<0.05),and the level of 5-HT and NE in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the level of cortisol was significantly lower than that in the control group (t=15.25,8.74,-26.54,P<0.05).
Conclusion
The implementation of emotional intelligence group health education and aerobic exercise can effectively reduce the level of 5-HT, improve the level of cortisol, enhance the emotional intelligence of adolescents with depression, and alleviate their depressive mood.
2.An epidemiological investigation of human brucellosis in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia 2011

Objective To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of human brucellosis in Ulanqab of Inner Mongolia.Methods Three hundred and twenty patients with suspected brucellosis were selected,who had registered in the Ulanqab Center for Endemic Disease Control of Inner Mongolia from April to June 2011.The investigation covered general situation,such as gender,age,occupation and main clinical symptoms and so on.Blood samples were collected,and Rose Bengal plate agglutination test(RBPT) was used for serum screening.Those who were tested positive in RBPT were confirmed with tube agglutination test (SAT).Brucellosis was diagnosed according to Diagnostic criteria for Brucellosis (WS 269-2007).Data were analyzed with statistical software(SPSS 17.0).Results One hundred and thirty-four cases were positive in RBPT of the 320 people surveyed,of which 93 cases were positive in SAT; antibody titers were higher than 1 ∶ 100(++),therefore they were diagnosed as brucellosis,and the ratio was 29.1%(93/320).The number of patients with suspected brucellosis who were negative in SAT test was 41,and the ratio was 12.8% (41/320).Among the 93 people who were infected,the constituent ratio of farmers and herdsmen who engaged in livestock was the highest,accounted for 63.4%(59/93) and 24.7% (23/93) of the total number of patients ; infection rate of male (30.9%,55/178) was higher than that of females (26.7%,38/142) ; the number(39) of brucellosis patients who were over the age of 51 was the highest,and the ratio is 42.0%.The onset season mainly in May and August; main route of exposure was bare hands lambing,midwifery and contact with infected sheep pollutants.Conclusions Sheep is the main source of human Brucella infection in Ulanqab.It is the key to control the spreading of brucellosis through improving awareness of disease prevention among farmers and herdsmen as well intensifying the prevention and control of Brucella infection between livestock.
3.The neuroprotective effects of grape seed proanthocyanidin on rat brain injury caused by chronic intermittent hypoxia

Chronic intermitted hypoxia including sleep breathing disorder leads to brain injury. This study explores
the potential therapeutic effects of grape seed proanthocyanidin as a neuroprotective agent. A rat model
of chronic intermittent hypoxia was employed, and the animals were given low or high doses of grape
seed proanthocyanidin. The ultrastructure changes in the brain, the biochemical components, and the
animal behavior were examined. The results showed that with hypoxia exposure, neuronal mitochondria
exhibited injuries at ultrastructural level, with increased malondialdehyde (MDA) content and reduced
superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling
(TUNEL) staining revealed increased cell apoptosis in hippocampus. In Morris water maze the animals
showed decreased learning abilities, when compared to normal control. The administration of grape
seed proanthocyanidin treatment reversed all these observed changes, and improved the learning
behavior. We concluded that grape seed proanthocyanidin could alleviate the brain injury caused by
hypoxia from sleep breathing disorder.
4.Leihong granule intervened in-stent restenosis after endovascular therapy for lower extremity arterial occlusive diseases: a clinical observation.

OBJECTIVETo observe the intervention effect of Leihong Granule (LG) in in-stent restenosis (ISR) after endovascular therapy for lower extremity arterial occlusive diseases (LEAOD).
METHODSRecruited 80 LEAOD patients who successfully underwent endovascular therapy (balloon dilation and stent implantation) were randomly assigned to two groups, the control group and the LG group, 40 in each group. Patients in the control group received basic treatment, while those in the LG group additionally took LG for 3 months. Plasma levels of IL-10, IL-18, CRP, and the intima-media thickness (IMT) of lower extremity artery were observed in the two groups between and after treatment. The rate of stent patency, ABI, intermittent claudication, rest pain, and the incidence of amputation the two groups were recorded and observed in the two groups.
RESULTSIn the control group, serum levels of IL-10, IL-18, CRP, and IMT were significantly higher one month after surgery than before surgery (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in serum levels of IL-10, IL-18, CRP, or IMT between the two groups before surgery (P > 0.05). These indices were obviously lower in the LG group than in the control group after surgery (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the incidence rates of intermittent claudication and the rest pain at 6 months and 12 months after surgery significantly decreased (P < 0.05). The stent patency rate at 6 months and 12 months after surgery, and ABI were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in the amputation rate between the two groups (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONLG might effectively improve ischemic symptoms of affected limbs possibly through lowering the ISR rate after endovascular therapy for LEAOD through preventing immunosuppressive actions.

5.Genetic polymorphism of six transmembrane protein of prostate 2 associated with diabetes mellitus in Xinjiang Uygur population.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the association between the genetic variations of six transmembrane protein of prostate 2 (STAMP2) with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Xinjiang Uygur population.
METHODSA case-control study was conducted based on epidemiological investigation. A total of 1838 Uygur subjects were selected and divided into two groups: T2DM group (n=274) and control group (n=1564). All exons, flanking introns, and the promoter regions of STAMP2 gene were sequenced in 48 Uygur Xinjiang population with diabetes. Representative variations selected were genotyped by TaqMan-PCR method in all individuals.
RESULTSTen novel and 6 known variations in the STAMP2 gene were identified. The distribution of genotype rs8122 significantly differed between T2DM group and control group (P=0.05), whereas the distribution of genotypes rs1981529 and rs34741656 showed no such difference. The fasting insulin in the total cohort and homeostasis model of assessment index in females showed significant difference between these two groups (P<0.05), while the adjusted P value showed no statistical significance (P>0.05). In the male population, the different genotypes of rs8122 variation of STAMP2 gene were not significantly different (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONThree polymorphisms (rs8122, rs1981529 and rs34741656) of STAMP2 gene may be not related with T2DM in Xinjiang Uygur population.

6.The diagnosis and treatment of acute prostatitis: report of 35 cases.

OBJECTIVETo study the diagnosis and treatment of acute prostatitis.
METHODSThe data of 35 cases of acute prostatitis who were admitted from January 2001 to March 2004 were reviewed. The main clinical manifestations were chills, fever, frequency, urgency and dysuria. All patients were treated with antibiotics and supportive measures. Two patients underwent surgical drainage for prostate abscess. Three patients were indwelled catheter for acute urinary retention.
RESULTSAll patients'temperatures returned to normal within 3 to 5 days. Blood and urine routine tests, urine culture and transurethral ultrasound examination results returned to normal 2 weeks later. Q maximal urinary flow rate improved in patients with dysuria.
CONCLUSIONSAfter diagnosis of acute prostatitis, full-dose of sensitive antibiotics should be given to all patients for some time as early as possible. At the same time, supportive therapy may be important to some patients. Surgical drainage should be used for patients with prostate abscess.

7.Differential diagnosis of isolated calf muscle vein thrombosis and gastrocnemius hematoma by high-frequency ultrasound.

BACKGROUNDDifferential diagnosis of isolated calf muscle vein thrombosis (ICMVT) and gastrocnemius hematoma is essential for early identification of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of high-frequency color Doppler ultrasound for differential diagnosis of ICMVT and gastrocnemius hematoma.
METHODSA retrospective case series of 35 ICMVT (M:F, 21:14; mean age (64.5 ± 10.6) years) and 23 gastrocnemius hematoma (M:F, 16:7; mean age (75.4 ± 11.8) years) patients with bilateral/unilateral lower limb pain was conducted between January 2006 and September 2012. Characteristics and the morphology of high-frequency color Doppler ultrasonography of the lower limb deep vein, great saphenous vein, calf muscles, skin, and soft tissue were examined.
RESULTSICMVT hypoechoic signals were characterized by long, tube-like masses on longitudinal sections and oval masses on transverse sections, with apparent muscle thrombosis boundaries, distal and proximal venous connections, and, often, lower limb DVT. Gastrocnemius hematoma hypoechoic signals were characterized by large volumes, enhanced posterior hematoma echo, hyperechoic muscle boundaries, no hematoma blood flow, and no DVT, and clear differences in trauma/exercise- and oral anticoagulant-induced hematomas were readily apparent. According to the measurement, the ratio of long diameter/transverse diameter (D/T) in ICMVT patients was about less than 2.0, whereas in gastrocnemius hematoma patients the ratio was more than 2.0. Early stage isoechoic and hypoechoic signals were detected with gradually increasing ovular anechoic areas. Partial muscle fibers in the hematoma due to muscle fractures were apparent.
CONCLUSIONHigh-frequency color Doppler ultrasound was found to be a sensitive and reliable method for differential diagnosis of ICMVT and gastrocnemius hematoma due to trauma and exercise or prolonged oral anticoagulant use.

8.Prevalence of Hearing Disorders Based Whole Population in Jilin Province, China

Objective To investigate the prevalence, etiology, rehabilitation demands and service condition of hearing disorders based on the whole population in Jilin Province, China. Methods Using the probability proportion to size (PPS) sampling, 9246 (93.3%) out of 9909 residents sampled form 36 counties were targeted for investigation from August, 2014 to January, 2015, followed the WHO Ear and Hearing Disorders Survey Protocol. The hearing loss and disability were classified as WHO recommended and Classification and Grading Criteria of Disability (GB/T 26341-2010). Results The standardized prevalence of hearing loss and disability was 16.41%and 4.78%, re-spectively. Age, sex, residence, occupation and marriage status, education level and household income were significantly associated with hearing loss prevalence, while nationality was not. The main etiologies included non-infectious disease (47.33%), ear disease (14.17%), un-known causation (13.89%), and noise (8.59%). Among all people with hearing loss, those who accepted intervention service accounted for 11.02%. Among all people with hearing disability, those who used hearing aids accounted for 5.58%, and 0.67%used artificial cochlea. Con-clusion Demographics and socioeconomic factors are significantly associated with the prevalence of hearing loss. The main etiology con-tains non-infectious disease, ear disease and noise. Both the rate of service utilization among people with hearing loss and the rate of adopt-ing hearing aids among people with hearing disability are low. It is needed to do more in prevention and rehabilitation of hearing impairment.
9.Relationship between sperm motility parameters and sperm morphology.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the relationship between sperm motility parameters and sperm morphology.
METHODSSeven hundred and eighty-three semen samples were tested. Sperm motility parameters were analyzed by computer-aided sperm analysis (CASA) , and sperm morphology assessed by automated sperm morphology analyzer (ASMA). The cases were classified based on the World Health Organization criteria. Morphologically 241 of the samples were normal and the other 542 abnormal.
RESULTSVCL, WOB, VAP of the morphologically abnormal group were significantly higher than those of the normal group (P < 0.05, P < 0.001), while MAD, LIN, STR of the abnormal group were significantly lower (P < 0.05, P < 0.001). There were significant positive correlations between the morphologically normal sperm rates and MAD, LIN, WOB, STR, and a significant negative correlation between the morphologically normal sperm rate and ALH.
CONCLUSIONMorphological abnormality of sperm is often accompanied with weak motility, which is probably attributed more to some factors that coact on both sperm motility and morphology than to the influence of sperm morphological abnormality on sperm motility.

10.Association between genetic polymorphism of the six-transmembrane protein of prostate 2 and obesity in Uygur.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the association between genetic variations of the six transmembrane protein of prostate 2 (STAMP2) and obesity in Xinjiang Uygur population.
METHODSA total of 2332 Uygur subjects (1455 obesity and 877 non-obesity control subjects) were included in this case-control study based on epidemiological survey. Genetic variations of STAMP2 gene functional region were sequenced. The representative variations selected were genotyped by TaqMan-PCR method.
RESULTSTwenty genetic variations, including 14 novel variations, were identified. The genotype distributions of the control group and obesity group were in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (both P > 0.05). The frequency of AA of rs1981529 (67.6% vs. 62.8%, P < 0.05) and the frequency of G-A-G haplotype (62.4% vs. 58.9%, P < 0.05) in obesity group were significantly higher than that in controls while the frequency of A-G-G haplotype was significantly lower in the obesity patients than that in the control group (17% vs. 20%, P < 0.05). After adjusting age, sex, smoking and drinking, logistic regression analysis showed that the AA genotype of rs1981529 (OR: 1.276, 95%CI: 1.049 - 1.552; P < 0.05) and the G-A-G haplotype (OR: 1.356, 95%CI: 1.007 - 1.862, P < 0.05) were the independent risk factors for obesity in this cohort.
CONCLUSIONThe AA genotype of rs1981529 and G-A-G haplotype are associated with obesity in Uygur population of Xinjiang.
