Objective: To analyze the effect of colorectal cancer screening in the general population in Guangzhou, and provide evidence for the for development of colorectal cancer screening policy and strategy. Methods: The data of colorectal cancer screening in Guangzhou during 2015- 2016 were collected. The participation, the positive rate of fecal occult blood test, the detection rate of colonoscopy and screening effect of colonoscopy were evaluated. Results: A total of 220 834 residents aged 50-74 years received the screening, and the positive rate of the screening was 16.77% (37 040 cases). Colonoscopy was performed for 7 821 cases (21.12%). Colorectal lesions were found in 4 126 cases (52.76%), of which 614 (7.85%) and 73 (0.93%) and 230 (2.94%) were identified as advanced adenoma, severe dysplasia lesions and colorectal cancers, respectively. The detection rates of all colorectal lesions were higher in men than in women (all P<0.01). The diagnostic rate of early lesion was 87.24%, and 99 early cancer cases were found, accounting for 46.26% of the total cases. The overall screening detection rate of colorectal cancer was 104.15/100 000, higher than the incidence rate (81.18/100 000) in colorectal cancer surveillance (P<0.001), but age group <70 years had higher detection rate, age group ≥70 years had higher incidence rate. Conclusions: The colorectal cancer screening strategy in Guangzhou is effective in the detection of the population at high risk, increase the detection rate of colorectal lesions, early diagnosis rate of precancerous lesions and diagnosis rate of early colorectal cancer. The benefit in those aged ≤69 years was more obvious than that in those aged 70-74 years. It is necessary to improve the compliancy of colorectal cancer screening in population at high risk.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2006;38(1):92-93
We report an apparently benign familial 9p subtelomere deletion identified using chromosome-arm-specific subtelomere probes in a patient with multiple congenital anomalies. Our experience demonstrated that the discovery of a subtelomeric deletion and/or duplication does not always guarantee the identification of the etiology for the patient's phenotype and a positive finding with subtelomere probes should always be followed by parental study with the same probe in order to distinguish a disease causing alteration from a benign familial polymorphism.
3.Spatiallearning deficits in amyloid precursor protein 770 transgenic mice
Chinese Medical Journal 2001;114(10):1060-1063
To determine whether leaming deficits could be seen in transgenic mice expressing human amyloid precursor protein 770 (APP770). Methods Female heterozygous transgenic and nontransgenic mice aged 3, 6 and 9 months at the start of testing were used, with eight mice in each age group. All mice were subjected to various behavioral tasks including the Y-maze task and the Morris water maze. After behavioral testing, the mice were sacrificed, and their brain tissues were used for measuring the choline acetyltransferase (CHAT) activity. Results Nine-month-old transgenic mice exhibited spatial learming deficits in the Morris water maze and in spontaneous altemation in the Y-maze, compared with those of the age-matched non-transgenic mice. The behavioral changes accompanied a reduction of ChAT activity in the cortical and hippocampal regions of transgenic mice. On the other hand, these behavioral deficits were not observed in transgenic mice either at 3 or at 6 months of age, in which ChAT activity remained unchanged. Conclusions The present results show that the learning impairment observed in 9-month-old APP770 transgenic mice are accompanied by a decrease in cortical and hippocampal ChAT activities. This suggests that cholinergic deficits may be involved in the leaming impairment observed in these APP770 mice. This model will be a useful tool in advancing our understanding of the relationship between the cholinergic system and the cognitive deficits observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Objective: To investigate the rates on prevalence, awareness, treatment and control of hypertension in population older than 15 years of age in Beijing, 2013-2014. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Beijing between 2013-2014. Stratified multistage random sampling method was used to select representative sample of 13 057 Chinese individuals aged over 15 years, from the general population. Blood pressure was measured for three readings at sitting position after resting for at least five minutes with an average reading recorded. A standardized structured questionnaire was developed to collect history of hypertension and antihypertensive treatment. Results: A total of 4 663 community residents aged over 15 years were hypertensive among the 13 057 individuals, with the standardized prevalence rate as 32.7%, in Beijing area. The age-standardized prevalence rates of hypertension appeared 34.6% in men and 30.8% in women. The age-and sexstandardized prevalence of hypertension rates were 33.3% in urban and 24.6% in rural areas. The prevalence of hypertension increased with age and appeared higher in men than in women, in urban than in rural residents. Among the hypertensive patients, rates of awareness, treatment and control were 66.8%, 64.6% and 31.6%, respectively. Conclusion: High prevalence of hypertension with low rates on awareness and treatment and control, appeared in the general population of Beijing. Related strategies should be developed regarding prevention, control and management of hypertension, to reduce the burden of this disease.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects o f CYP2C9*3 gene polymorphism on therapeutic efficacy of benzbromarone in lowering uric acid and its hepatotoxicity. METHODS :A retrospective study was conducted to analyze the relevant clinical indicators and genotypes of 196 gout patients who received benzbromarone and CYP2C9*3 gene polymorphism test in Wuhan third hospital from Jan. 2018 to Sept. 2019. RESULTS :Among 196 patients,179,15 and 2 patients with CYP2C9*3 genotypes * 1/*1, *1/*3 and * 3/*3 genotypes were found ,respectively, and the distribution of each genotype was in line with Hardy-Weinberg balance(P>0.05). Before treatment ,there were no significant differences in the levels of UA ,Scr,ALT,AST and CRP between *1/*1 genotype and * 1/*3+*3/*3 genotype(P>0.05). After 4 weeks of treatment ,the UA ,Scr,CRP levels of patients with * 1/*1 genotype as well as the UA and CRP levels of patients with * 1/*3+*3/*3 genotype were significantly reduced ,the UA level of patients with * 1/*1 genotype was significantly lower than that of patients with * 1/*3+*3/*3 genotype(P<0.05 or P<0.01). The ALT and AST levels had no obvious changes in patients with different genotype before and after treatment ,and they were in the normal range. No serious abnormal liver function was observed during the treatment. CONCLUSIONS :Therapeutic efficacy of benzbromarone in lowering uric acid in gout patients with CYP2C9*3 genotypes * 1/*1 genotype is better than that of * 1/*3 and * 3/*3 genotypes. However ,the gene polymorphism may be not associated with its hepatotoxicity.

Nutrition Research and Practice 2021;15(3):367-381
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES:
This study aimed to establish a mother and child cohort in the Chinese population, and investigate human breastmilk (HBM) composition and its relationship with maternal body mass index (BMI) and infant growth during the first 3 mon of life.
SUBJECTS/METHODS:
A total of 101 Chinese mother and infant pairs were included in this prospective cohort. Alterations in the milk macronutrients of Chinese mothers at 1 mon (T1), 2 mon (T2), and 3 mon (T3) lactation were analyzed. HBM fatty acid (FA) profiles were measured by gas chromatography (GC), and HBM proteomic profiling was achieved by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS).
RESULTS:
During the first 3 mon of lactation (P < 0.05), significant decreases were determined in the levels of total energy, fat, protein, and osteopontin (OPN), as well as ratios of long-chain saturated FA (including C16:0, C22:0 and C24:0), monounsaturated FA (including C16:1), and n-6 poly unsaturated FA (PUFA) (including C20:3n-6 and C20:4n-6, and n-6-3). Conversely, butyrate, C6:0 and n-3 PUFA C18:3n-3 (α-linolenic acid, ALA) were significantly increased during the first 3 mon (P < 0.05). HBM proteomic analyses distinguished compositional protein differences over time (P = 0.001). Personalized motherinfant analyses demonstrated that HBM from high BMI mothers presented increased total energy, fat, protein and OPN, and increased content of n-6 PUFA (including C18:3n-6, C20:3n-6 and n-6-3 ratio) as compared with low BMI mothers (P < 0.05). Furthermore, BMI of the mothers positively correlated with the head circumference (HC) of infants as well as the specific n-6 PUFA C20:3n-6 over the 3 time points examined. Infant HC was negatively associated with C18:0.
CONCLUSION
This study provides additional evidence to the Chinese HBM database, and further knowledge of FA function. It also helps to establish future maternal strategies that support the healthy growth and development of Chinese infants.

Objective: To standardize the reporting system on hepatitis B in order to improve the quality of monitoring program in Henan province. Methods: A total of 6 sites of Hepatitis B pilot surveillance were selected in Xinzheng of Zhengzhou city, Linzhou of Anyang city, Shanyang district of Jiaozuo city, Shaoling district of Luohe city, Yongcheng of Shangqiu city, Pingqiao district of Xinyang city in Henan province. Subjects under study were those reported hepatitis B cases, from 2012 to 2016. Cases diagnosed in 2011 were chosen as controls. Data on classification of hepatitis B, time that HBsAg became positive and ALT value of the cases were analyzed annually. 5 ml venous blood was collected and anti-HBc IgM confirmed test was made for those suspected acute cases on hepatitis B. Based on the 2016 data from the monitoring system, the incidence of acute hepatitis B in Henan province was estimated. Results: The number of reported hepatitis B cases had declined in 6 sites of Hepatitis B pilot surveillance substantially. A total of 17 436 hepatitis B reported in 2011 but only 2 632 cases were reported in 2016, with a reduction of 84.90%(14 804/17 436) in these six monitoring sites. The number of unclassified hepatitis B cases also dropped sharply. In 2011, 36.87% of the cases were unclassified, but the figure reduced to 0.08% in 2016, from the six sites. The rate on ALT detection also gradually improved. The rate of misdiagnosis on HBV carrier from hepatitis B almost disappeared. From 2013 to 2016, 777 blood samples were collected from six pilot sites. 29.34% (228/777) of the blood samples were tested positive for anti-HBc IgM after confirmed by the hepatitis laboratory of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Conclusions: Since the development of the pilot surveillance program, the quality of reporting system on hepatitis B had been improved, as well as the accuracy of diagnosis. Rate on the accuracy of reporting on hepatitis B and the methods of testing should be improved at the monitoring sites.
