Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2016;22(1):22-32
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of emotional labor on burnout in nurses focusing the moderating effects of social intelligence and emotional intelligence. METHODS: Data were collected in March 2015 by self administered questionnaires among 392 nurses in eight hospitals located in Busan, Gyeongsangnam-do. Data were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression, hierarchical multiple regression. RESULTS: Study results shown (a) emotional labor showed a positive correlation on burnout, while social intelligence and emotional intelligence showed a negative correlation on burnout, (b) emotional labor was the most influential variable on burnout, (c) social intelligence had a negative moderating effect the relationship between emotional labor and burnout, (d) emotional intelligence had a positive moderating effect the relationship between emotional labor and burnout. CONCLUSION: The result of the study indicate that emotional labor of nurses is positively correlated with burnout and emotional labor is to give the greatest effect on burnout, social intelligence and emotional intelligence had a moderating effects the relationship between emotional labor and burnout.

6.Effects of Self-efficacy, Career Plateau, Job Embeddedness, and Organizational Commitment on the Turnover Intention of Nurses.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2015;21(5):530-541
PURPOSE: This study was designed to construct a structural equation model and identify the effects and relationships of self-efficacy, career plateau, job embeddedness, organizational commitment and intent to turnover for nurses. Also, an attempt was made to derive a hypothetical model from these factors and to verify whether the model has validity as a means of explaining and anticipating turnover intention of nurses. METHODS: Data were collected from six randomly selected hospitals: a university hospital located in J city, Kyungnam and five general hospitals located in two cities (cities B and C), each having 400 to 720 beds. Also, 318 nurses were surveyed. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 program. RESULTS: Job embeddedness and organizational commitment were identified as the most likely paths to turn over intention. Also, organizational commitment had the highest direct effect on turnover intention followed by job embeddedness and then self-efficacy, but career plateau had an indirectly effected turnover intention. CONCLUSION: As turnover intention was found to be greatly affected by organizational commitment and job embeddedness, methods to improve organizational commitment and job embeddedness should be actively developed to reduce turnover intention among nurses.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 2001;44(5):517-522
PURPOSE: The occurrence of shigellosis patients has increased radically in 2 recent years. For this, the authors investigated the epidemic aspect of shigellosis by regional groups to know whether the epidemic aspect of shigellosis is a general situation which occurs identically in various areas of Kyung Nam. METHODS: We reviewed pediatric patients who were hospitalized in Ulsan(eastern), in Masan(cen tral), in Chinju(western) of Kyung Nam from January, 1988 to April, 1999. RESULTS: A total of 54 cases of shigellosis were noted from Ulsan(12), Masan(21) and Chinju(21) over ten years. The number of patients was 1 each in 1991 and 1993, 5 each in 1998 and 1999 at Ulasan, 9 in 1988, 8 between 1990 and 1995, 3 in 1998, 1 in 1999 at Masan, 1 each in 1990, 1991, 1994, 4 in 1998, 14 in 1999 at Chinju. The shigellosis patients increased from 1998, especially in Chinju. S. flexneri was reported in Masan(AMP)(R)5, AMP+TMP/SMX(R)4) before 1990, in Masan (2) between 1990 and 1995 and in Chinju(AMP(R)7, AMP+MP/SMX(R)1) in 1999. S. sonnei was reported in Ulsan(AMP(R)1, TMP/SMX(R)1), in Masan(6) and in Chinju(AMP(R)2, TMP/SMX(R) 1) between 1990 and 1995 and in Ulsan(TMP/SMX(R)9, AMP+TMP/SMX(S)1), in Masan(TMP/ SMX(R)2, AMP+TMP/SMX(R)1+(S)1) and in Chinju(TMP/SMX(R)6) between 1998 and 1999. CONCLUSION: Independent of the past, shigellosis patients occurred by regional groups in three parts of Kyung Nam. The present epidemic aspect of the eastern area is similar to that of the central area, but is partially similar to that of western Kyung Nam.

This survey was conducted in February 24, 1999, in order to investigate the nutritional knowledge and dietary attitude of the school dietitians working in Kyungnam area. Subjects consisted of 305 school dietitians of which 163 married and 141 unmarried. The results obtained are summarized as follows : The average nutritional knowledge score was 10.50 out of possible 15 points, and dietary attitude score was 69.36 out of 100 points. Most of the subjects belonged to "Fair" group in terms of nutritional knowledge and dietary attitude level. Married dietitians scored significantly higher on dietary attitudes than unmarried dietitians (p<0.05). The correlation between nutritional knowledge score and dietary attitude score was not statistically significant(r=0.107)

Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 2005;11(3):353-364
The informations concerning knowledge, value and consumption pattern for rice foods of elementary schoolchildren (630 boys and 550 girls in 5th or 6th grade) were investigated in Changwon and Gimhae of Gyeongnam province. They were asked based on knowledge, one's value and intake frequence of rice foods by questionnaries. Menus for 3 days including 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day were taken from 136 students (77 boys and 59 girls) in two Elementary Schools in Changwon and Gimhae to know intake reality of rice product. The purpose of this survey was to find the way of encouraging rice intake and preference which now seemed to be low because of simplified, westernized eating habits, and to provide basic information needed for inheriting and improving our traditional cooked rice centered eating culture. The results are summarized as follows. The knowledge of rice was positively correlated to the one's value (r=0.365, p<0.001) and the preference (r=0.132, p<0.001), the one's value was positively correlated to preference (r=0.409, p<0.001). The score of knowledge for rice was 12.8 points out of 20, the girls get points(13.12) significantly higher than the boys (12.53) (p<0.01). One's value about rice foods was 37.35 points out of 50 what is relatively high. They have eaten cooked rice type food for 2.24 times per day. Both boys and girls in Changwon and Gimhae area were having cooked rice type food significantly more during weekdays compared to weekends (p7lt;0.001) by 3 days food record. According the results, we can see the possibility that schoolchildren can be encouraged to eat more rice foods by nutritional education to go with the development of various programs.
