1.Diagnosis and management of intraparotid facial nerve schwannoma.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2015;33(4):431-435
Intraparotid facial nerve schwannoma (IFNS) is a rare benign tumor. The management of IFNS is very challenging because of the lack of appropriate methods for preoperative diagnosis, which is often conducted intraoperatively in most cases. This article reviewed the literature on IFNS recorded in PubMed from 1958 to 2014 and described in detail its clinical manifestations, diagnoses and differential diagnoses, and treatment options. Accurate diagnosis for IFNS mainly depends on intraoperative observation and postoperative histological examination. Preoperative facial nerve function, localization, and adherence, as well as preferences of IFNS patients are important factors to consider in the decision-making process for IFNS management to optimize the outcomes. Surgical resection is usually reserved for patients with facial function of House-Brackmann grade III or worse; otherwise, conservative treatment can be adopted.

2.Effect of risperidone on S100 B protein and its intervention on relapse of heroin addicts
Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2015;(3):106-108,111
Objective To investigate the effect of risperidone on S100B protein and its intervention on the relapse of heroin addicts. Methods From January 2014 to March 2014, 70 cases heroin addicts in the second detection center in Xining were selected as objects, three patients dropped out, and the left were randomly divided into control group(n=33) and experimental group(n=34) , which were given detoxification for 10 days, rehabilitation for 5 days, while the experimental group were given risperidone intervention. The condition of craving degree for heroin, relapse and incidence of adverse reactions between two groups were compared.Serum S100B protein levels were detected by ELISA.The efficacy of risperidone was analyzed. Results The craving degree for heroin between two groups was of no significant differences, after drug treatment, the craving degree for heroin of experimental group were significantly lower than those of control group at the time-point of hospital discharge, 1 months after discharging and 3 months after discharging(P=0.013, P =0.008, P =0.005).The differences of relapse condition between two groups in 3 months after discharging were statistically significant (P=0.003), the relapse incidence of experimental group(11.8%) was significant lower than that of control group(54.5%). Besides, the differences of relapse condition among different craving degree groups were statistically significant in two groups respectively(P=0.005, P=0.008).Serum S100B protein levels of experimental group , in different periods were lower than those of control group, with statistical significance ( P<0.05); There were 5 cases of insomnia, 3 cases of headache, 3 cases of thirsty, 2 cases of mild extrapyramidal symptoms in test group, but all above were mild and relieved on their own after withdrawal, no similar symptoms were observed in control group. Conclusion Risperidone intervention is a safe and effective method to prevent heroin addicts from relapsing, it maybe with the mechanism of reducing the levels of serum S100B protein, but it needs further research and efforts to put it in clinical applications of herion addiction treatment.
3.Effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on locomotor outcomes after experimental hemisectional spinal cord injury in rats
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2011;33(9):648-651
Objective To study the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on rats'locomotor function after hemisectional spinal cord injury (SCI). Methods A model of hemisectional SCI was established at the T10 segment in 12 rats, which were then randomly divided into an SCI-rTMS group and an SCI-control group.Another 6 rats served as normal controls. The SCI-rTMS group received threshold rTMS daily for 4 weeks, while the SCI-control group was given sham rTMS.The normal control group was left without any treatment.BassoBeatti-Bresnahan (BBB) locomotor scores were recorded weekly.Motor evoked potential (MEP) was detected at the 28th day after the operation.Neurofilament-200 (NF-200) was detected with immunofluorescent staining of the spinal cord lesions. Results The BBB scores in the SCI-rTMS group improved more than those in the SCI-control group.MEP of the fight hindlimb was detected in the rTMS group, but not in the control group.Expression of NF-200 marker increased significantly more than in the rTMS group. Conclusions rTMS can improve locomotor function of rats after spinal cord hemisectioning, which may result from increased expression of NF-200 and the regeneration of axons.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2001;5(9):52-53
Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of blood supply decrease on glycosaminoglycans(GAG)of the cartilage in the temporomandibular joint(TMJ) . Method Four rabbits were used as controls, and 16 rabbits were injected 5% sodirm morrhumate through carotid artery unilaterlally. All specimens were examimined histochemically. Result A reduction in alcian(AB) blue staining was observed after operation, a gradual increase in AB staining with blood supply restoration of TMJ tissue was observed. Conclusion The result suggests that the decrease in blood supply of the temporomnandibular jorint leads to the loss of GAG in the condylar cartilage, which may play an important role in pathogenesis of osteoarthrosis.

Acta Medicinae Universitatis Scientiae et Technologiae Huazhong 2001;30(1):61-63
X-ray cephalometry was used to analyze craniofacial morphology in 32 males and 23 females with operated cleft palate. They underwent primary palatoplasty at the ages of 4 to 7 years and examination at the age of 18 to 25 years old. The cephalometric data were compared with that of the native Hubei adults with normal occlusions. The results indicated the cranial base in the cleft group was morphologically similar to that of the normal controls, there were a decreased angle of skeletal facial convexity, a shorter maxilla, an increased gonial angle and a more open mandibular plane angle in the clefts. All of these differences were significant. Surgical treatments at the age of 4 to 7 years old could cause craniofacial deformities at adults.
