Objective To explore the status of job burnout of medical staffs in minority border areas. Methods A total of 906 medical personnel from Pu'er hospitals in Yunnan Province were as-sessed with Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey (MBI-GS) by t test, descriptive statistics, chi-square test, ANOVA and LSD-t pairwise comparison. Results ①The emotional exhaustion, cynicism and reduced personal accomplishment of medical staffs in minority border areas (1.55±1.40, 0.99± 1.29, 2.47±1.98) are significantly lower than general areas (P=0.000, 0.010, 0.000); ②emotional ex-haustion, cynicism and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) total points of different levels of hospital medi-cal staff, the score of which in descending order are:municipal, county and township (town) levels (P=0.000, 0.000, 0.000); ③Female medical personnel's emotional exhaustion and cynicism are scored significantly higher than males medical staff (P=0.000, 0.025); ④The scores of emotional exhaustion, cynicism, reduced personal accomplishment and MBI total points of Bachelor medical staff are signifi-cantly higher than those of colleges as well as secondary schools and below (P=0.000, 0.000, 0.000, 0.012); ⑤The scores of reduced personal achievement of Lahu medical staff are higher than those of other ethnic groups (P=0.009). Conclusion In medical staffs in minority border areas there exists a certain extent of job burnout, which presents differences among genders, educational background, hos-pitals and ethnic groups.

Objective: To investigate the immunological mechanism of influenza A virus for murine S180 ascites sarcoma. Methods: After inoculation with S180 sarcoma cells, mice were i. p. injected with influenza A virus or vehicle 15 days. The average living time and survival rate of the mice were examined. The levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-? were detected. The sarcoma cell's apoptosis was detected by DNA ladder, flow cytometry (FMC) , fluorescent microscope and e-lectron microscope (EM). Results: The average living time and survival rate of the mice injected with Influenza A virus were significantly longer or higher than that of the controls. The levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-? also had the same differences. The apoptosis cells were detected by EM and fluorescent microscope. Sub-diploid peaks were observed by FCM a-nalysis and DNA ladder was seen after electrophoresis in the ascites cells. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that the feasibility and potential of delivery of influenza A virus as a general means for the treatment of S180 ascites sarcoma.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)symptoms in middle school students after Wenchuan earthquake. Methods:The PTSD Checklist-Civilian version( PCL-C),which included three symptom groups(A,B,and C),was used to assess the PTSD symptoms in 1960 middle school students in the disaster region through self-questionnaire.Results:(1)The general positive rate of PTSD symptoms was 78.3%,and that of B group was the highest(68.9%).(2)The rates of general PTSD and three symptom groups of PTSD were higher in girls, high grade students, minority groups, rural students, injured in earthquake and those who lost family property than in boys, low grade students, the Han nationality, urban students, not injured in earthquake and those who did not lost family property[such as,the general positive rate of PTSD symptoms:girls 82.2%,boys 73.9%,P<0.05].(3)The rates of severe PTSD symptoms in girls and rural students were higher than that in boys and urban students(27.9% vs.19.9%,26.7% vs.21.4%,Ps<0.05).Conclusions:PTSD symptoms are common among middle school students in earthquake region.Targeted measures should be taken to protect middle school students from PTSD in earthquake region.
