OBJECTIVE The short-term efficacy of endoscopic adenoid hypothermic plasma ablation and its effect on Eustachian tube function. METHODS 75 patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome who were treated in our hospital from March 2013 to March 2015 were divided into two groups according to the different operative methods: nasal power cutting group(30 cases) and low temperature plasma ablation group(45 cases), comparison of the two groups of patients with surgery time, intraoperative blood loss and follow-up after 6 months of clinical efficacy and Eustachian tube function. RESULTS The time of resection, operation time and intraoperative blood loss were significantly better in the low-temperature plasma ablation group than that in the rhinectomy group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); The incidence of complications in the low-temperature plasma ablation group was significantly higher than that in the rhinectomy group, and the difference was significant(P<0.05); there was no significant difference between the two groups in the total effective rate and the postoperative disease-specific quality of life questionnaire(OSA-18) and there was no significant difference in the quality of life between the two groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSION The clinical efficacy of low-temperature plasma ablation is close to nasal dynamic cutting, but low-temperature plasma ablation surgery in the amount of bleeding was significantly less than the nasal excision. This surgical approach is minimally invasive and safe, but its postoperative secondary infection and secondary bleeding is high, so this need for further study.

An accurate, fast and sensitive method based on high performance liquid chromatography was established for the simultaneous determination of eleven ultra-violet absorbents in cosmetics. Eleven ultra-violet absorbents were baseline separated on an Acclaim C18 column within 11. 5 min using acetonitrile-0. 1%formic acid in water ( V/V) mobile phase, and detected at 361 nm with UV detection. Under the optimized conditions, the relative standard derivations ( RSDs) of the eleven ultra-violet absorbents were all less than 0. 1% for retention time, and less than 1. 2% for peak area; good linearity was obtained from 5 to and 500 mg/L with the correlation coefficients of above 0 . 9990 for these analytes; the recoveries spiked in a cosmetic sample were in the range of 77% -116%. Benzophenone-3, butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane, ethylhexylsalicylatec and homosalate were found in the detected cosmetic samples, and the concentration of homosalate was the highest. The results indicated that this method had potential for applications due to its convenience, accuracy and sensitivity. Oxybenzone, butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane, 2-ethylhexyl salicylatec and homosalate were found in the detected cosmetic samples, and the concentration of homosalate was the highest.

Multicolor imaging (MCI) based on confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy can gather more diagnostic information than traditional fundus photographs through utilizing three wavelengths of laser to scan posterior retina, which gain different layer reflected signal since the depth of penetration into retina is different for each wavelength. Currently, it provides important information and reference value for diagnose of different layer diseases on retina or choroid combining MCI with OCT, FAF, FFA and so on. However, there are still misunderstandings in the diagnosis of retinal diseases with MCI. Careful observation of retinal details in MCI, CFP and other imaging methods is more conducive to the correct diagnosis of fundus ophthalmopathy.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate signal intensity-time (SI-Time) curve and quantitative dynamic contrast-enhanced 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging in diagnosis and differentiating neoplasm of uterus.
METHODS:
A total of 42 cases of uterine neoplasm (20 were malignant and 22 were benign) were evaluated in our study. All cases received dynamic contrast-enhanced scanning on 3.0T MRI. The raw data was processed by Siemens Tissue 4D software and the SI-Time curve was obtained and analyzed. Pharmacokinetic modeling of Tofts with a modeled vascular input function was used for calculating volume parameters: volume transfer constant (Ktrans), reverse volume transfer constant (Kep), the extravascular extracellular space volume per unit volume of tissue (Ve). The correlation of these parameters at each groups were investigated. The SI-Time curve and the data of perfusion parameters between the 2 groups were compared by T test.
RESULTS:
Among 20 malignant tumors, 12 were cervical carcinoma and 8 were endometrial cancer. Among the benign tumors, 13 were leiomyomas, 3 were endometrial polyp, 3 were endometrial hyperplasia, and 3 were adenomyosis. 59.1% cases of benign tumors belong to Type I curve and 65% cases of malignant tumors belong to Type II curve. There was significant difference in SI-Time curve between benign and malignant tumors (P=0.011). If Type I curve was used as diagnostic criteria for benign tumors, and Type II and III curve were for malignant tumors, the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value were 90.0%, 59.1%, 66.7%, and 86.7%, respectively. Ve was 0.477 ± 0.143 in malignant and 0.614 ± 0.146 in control group with significant difference (P=0.004). Ve was 0.477 ± 0.143 in malignant and 0.589 0.176 in benign group with significant difference (P=0.004). Ktrans was (0.178 ± 0.067) min⁻¹ in malignant and (0.263 ± 0.111) min⁻¹ in control group with significant difference (P=0.003). Ktrans was (0.182 ± 0.096) min⁻¹ in benign and (0.263 ± 0.111) min⁻¹ in control group with significant difference (P=0.011).
CONCLUSION
The type of SI-Time curve and perfusion parameters were important for differentiating benign and malignant uterine tumors in dynamic enhanced MRI. These parameters provide a supplement for conventional morphological MR diagnosis.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Medical Formulae 2024;30(2):56-63
ObjectiveBy observing the effect of Qianyang Yuyin granules on the phenotype of renal tubule epithelial cells, the intervention of Qianyang Yuyin granule on renal interstitial fibrosis was investigated. MethodThe renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2) were treated with different concentrations of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 μg·L-1) for 24 hours, and cell morphology and growth state were observed with an inverted phase contrast microscope. The 20 μg·L-1 was selected as the most appropriate concentration of TGF-β1 according to Western blot results for subsequent experiments. HK-2 cells were divided into six groups: blank group, TGF-β1 group (concentration of 20 μg·L-1), low, medium, and high dose Qianyang Yuyin granule groups (concentration of 0.5, 1, 2 g·L-1), and valsartan group (1 × 10-5 mol·L-1). The cell activity was measured by cell proliferation and cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8). The cell migration ability was detected by scratch test. The Transwell method was used to detect the invasiveness of cells. Western blot was used to detect levels of fibronectin (FN), E-cadherin, α-smooth muscle activator (α-SMA), Vimentin, collagen type Ⅰ(Col Ⅰ), collagen type Ⅳ(Col Ⅳ), and other related proteins. ResultTGF-β1 stimulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in renal tubular epithelial cells was time- and concentration-dependent. Compared with the blank group, higher concentration in the TGF-β1 group indicates longer intervention time and more obvious long spindle change of cells, and the migration and invasion ability of the cells was significantly enhanced. The protein expression level of FN, α-SMA, Vimentin, Col Ⅰ, and Col Ⅳ increased significantly (P<0.05, P<0.01), while the expression level of E-cadherin protein decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the TGF-β1 group, Qianyang Yuyin granule groups could maintain normal cell morphology, and the migration and invasion ability of the cells was inhibited. The protein expression level of FN, α-SMA, Vimentin, Col Ⅰ, and Col Ⅳ decreased (P<0.05, P<0.01), and the expression of E-cadherin protein was significantly restored (P<0.05). ConclusionQianyang Yuyin granule can reverse TGF-β1-induced interstitial transformation of renal tubular epithelial cells by reducing the phenotypic expression of mesenchymal cells and increasing the phenotypic expression of epithelial cells.
