Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2006;4(3):153-155
Objective: To investigate the efficacy of scalp acupuncture in combination with body acupuncture for treating pseudobulbar paralysis. Methods: Eighty patients were randomly divided into treatment and control groups, 40 cases each. The control group was treated by the routine method of Western medicine and the treatment group by combined scalp and body acupuncture on the basis of the former. The curative effect was evaluated after treatment in both groups. The influence of the treatment on mean blood velocity(MBV) in anterior, middle and posterior cerebral arteries was observed by transcranial Doppler(TCD) in both groups. Results: The total efficacy rate was 97.5% in the treatment group and 12.5% in the control group. The recovery rate was 75% in the treatment group and 0% in the control group. There was a significant difference between the two groups(P< 0. 01). TCD showed that blood velocity in cerebral arteries was significantly increased and the unbalanced stasis of the right and left cerebral blood flow changed in the treatment group. A comparison of MBV between pretreatment and posttreatment showed P < 0.01. Conclusion: Scalp acupuncture in combination with body acupuncture has a good effect on pseudobulbar paralysis.
2.Molecular targeted therapy of diffuse large B cell lymphoma
Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(4):311-315
The diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common adult non-hodgkin lymphoma. At present, rituximab in combination with CHOP program has significantly improved the prognosis of DLBCL,and about 50% of the DLBCL can be cured. However, due to the heterogeneity of the tumor, the refractory and relapsed DLBCL is still lack of effective treatment methods. With the application of gene expression profile (GEP) and the thorough research of the activation of lymphoma cells signal way,a lot of potential therapeutic targets have been found.

Objective: To examine the effect of artificial fiber complexes (AFC) on growth and RBC membrane fluidity in comparison with three single fibers. Methods: 48 healthy, female Wistar rats (50-80 g) were randomly divided into 6 groups based on body weight. All five kinds of DF (cellulose, pectin, sodium alginate, cellulose pectin complex, cellulose sodium alginate complex) were given at a level of 10% in a lipid rich diet. The control group was fed lipid rich diet alone without DF. After 8 weeks, the effect on growth and development, lipid peroxidation, RBC membrane fluidity were studied. Results: 1.All DF groups did not affect the growth and development of the rats. 2.The fecal weight and its fat content in all DF groups were significantly higher than that in control group, especially for AFC group.3. All kinds of DF could increase serum SOD and GSH Px activities and reduce MDA content (except cellulose and sodium alginate group). RBC membrane fluidity was significantly increased in DF groups, and AFC groups were the most effective. Conclusion: All these kinds of DF have the effect of increasing RBC membrane fluidity, and AFC is the best.

Chinese Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology 2001;(2):146-149
Purpose To study myocardial pathology and its pathogenesis in diabetes. Methods Myocardial structure of alloxan induced diabetic rats was observed under light microscopy (LM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px),nitric oxide synthase(NOS)and content of malondialdehyde (MDA),nitric oxide(NO) were detected biochemically in myocardial homogenate. Results Atrophy and degeneration of myocardium and interstitial fibrosis were found under LM and expansion of mitochondria and smooth endoplasmic reticulum, destruction of myofibril and interstitial proliferation of collogen fiber under TEM. Activity of SOD and GSH-Px decreased significantly, while content of NO and MDA and activity of NOS increased significantly in diabetic rats. Conclusion Atrophy of myocardium, expansion of mitochondria, destruction of myofibril and interstitial fibrosis are the main morphological changes of diabetic cardiomyopathy, and lipid peroxidation and NO may be involved in it.

Objective To select the ultrasonic appearances which effect the benign and malignant of thyroid lesions, and to explore the establishment and applications of supersonic evaluation system for thyroid imaging reporting and data system (TI-RADS) classification. Methods The ultrasound images of 1 080 thyroid nodule cases were retrospectively analyzed by Logistic equation, and the ultrasonic appearances were screened to identify benign and malignant of thyroid lesions. All appearances were obtained weights. The TI-RADS classification analysis software was assigned, which was used to analyze 332 patients with thyroid diseases and to verify the diagnostic performance of the TI-RADS classification system. Results Five ultrasonic features were selected into the regression model, including aspect ratio (odds ratio [OR]=3.61),margins (OR=3.83),composition (OR=11.46),echogenicity (OR=14.12),microcalcification foci (OR =48.82).Using objective evaluation system for TI-RADS classification in ultrasound in diagnosing 332 cases, the area under the ROC curve was 0.91 (P<0.05).Conclusion Relatively the weight and formation of malignant indicators should be more concern than the number of ultrasonic malignant thyroid lesions indicators. The objective evaluation system for TI-RADS classification in ultrasound has relatively high diagnosis capability which established by the methods of Logistic equation.

Objective To investigate the role of natural killer cells (NK cells) in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Methods Blood samples and liver biopsies from 108 CHB patients including 43 mild, 28 moderate and 37 severe CHB patients were collected. The levels of interferon (IFN) gamma in liver tissues and peripheral blood were detected by intracellular cytokine staining. The data were analyzed by t test. Results The levels of IFN gamma produced by NK cells in liver tissues and peripheral blood of patients with severe CHB were (8. 12±4. 26) % and (4. 59±2. 95) % ,respectively, which were significantly higher than those in patients with mild CHB [(3. 53±1. 56)%and (2. 26±0.61)%, respectively; t=3. 80 and t = 4. 30, respectively; both P<0. 05] and those in patients with moderate CHB [(4. 59±1. 98)% and (2. 48±1. 05)%, respectively;t=2. 62 and t =3. 28, respectively; both P<0. 05]. While there were no differences of IFN gamma produced by NK cells both in liver tissues and peripheral blood between mild and moderate CHB patients (t=0. 99 and t=1. 27, respectively; both P>0. 05). The levels of IFN gamma produced by NK cells in liver tissues and blood samples in severe phase of severe CHB were (10. 02 ± 4. 15)% and (6. 78 + 2. 91)%, respectively, those in recovery phase were (6. 13±2. 01)% and (3. 13± 1. 52)%, respectively (t = 1. 89 and t=1. 74, respectively; both P<0. 05]. Conclusion NK cells may play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of severe CHB.
