Perihematomal edema (PHE) is the key factor to lead to the secondary brain injury after intracerebral hemorrhage,and it can affect the outcomes of patients.This article reviews the pathophysiological mechanisms and treatment strategies of PHE.

AIM: To establish the quality standard for Haimo Blood-Stanching Tablets(cuttle fish sepia) by means of quantitative and qualitative experiments. METHODS: Melanin was identified by physics and chemistry reaction.Gly,Asp,Glu and Ala in Haimo Blood-Stanching Tablets were determined by HPLC-AccQ-Tag method and iron was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. RESULTS: Melanin in sepia could be dissolved in 2 mol/L NaOH and there was something black separated out when in 2 mol/L HCl.The recoveries of four kinds of(amino) acids and iron were all in the range of 95%-105%.Each RSD was below 5%(n=6). CONCLUSION: The quantitative and qualitative analysis methods are accurate and reproducible.This study provides a method for the quality control of Haimo Blood-Stanching Tablets.

Objective To study the effect of exogenous 3-deoxyglucosone (3-DG) on blood glucose of normal mice. Methods Kunming male mice were divided into two groups: 3-DG (5mg/kg) treatment and control group.At day 1,week 1 and week 2 after treatment, we compared fasting blood glucose,and did the glucose tolerance test in 3-DG group after 2 weeks' 3-DG administration. Results Blood glucose was increased obviously 2h after administration with 3-DG once versus pre-administration and control (7.78±0.694 vs 6.41±0.408,and 6.43±0.43,all higher than control,but no statistical significance (P＞0.05). There were no differences in 6 hour fasting blood glucose after once administration with 3-DG and in 12 hours fasting blood glucose two weeks after administration with 3-DG between 3-DG and Con groups. After 3-DG administration for two weeks,as compared with Con, the 30 minute blood glucose of 3-DG administration mice during OGTT was obviously increased (19.47±1.541 vs 17.22±1.911,P＜0.05), but glucose levels at 60 minute and 120 minute had no changes (P＞0.05). Conclusions Exogenous 3-DG increases the normal mice's blood glucose immediately after once administration with 3-DG and results in up-moving of glucose physiological curve and leads to a light impairment of glucose tolerance when mice were continuously fed with 3-DG for 2 weeks.

Objective To investigate the expression of hypoxia - inducible factor -1 alpha and vascular endothelial growth factor in gastric carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods The expression was detected by immunohistochemistry method in 100 cases of gastric carcinoma tissues of patients with carcinoma and HIF-1 alpha, VEGF, VEGF test results comparing the carcinoma tissue and adjacent normal tissues, HIF-1 alpha; different differentiation degree and infiltration depth of tumor tissue of HIF-1 alpha and VEGF detection results of recurrence or metastasis;group, no recurrence or metastasis detection results of HIF-1 alpha and VEGF tumor tissue cancer group. Results The positive rate of HIF-1 expression in gastric tumor tissue of patients with cancer (60.00％), the positive expression rate of VEGF (64.00％) were significantly higher than those in adjacent normal tissues (21.00％, 14.00％), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); high ang middle differentiation, invasive depth of tumor tissue before plasma membrane positive in patients with gastric cancer the rate of VEGF, HIF-1 alpha, was low, the data had significant differences (P<0.05); the positive rate of HIF-1 alpha and VEGF expression of gastric carcinoma tumor recurrence or metastasis was found in (70.97％), the positive expression rate of VEGF (77.42％) were significantly higher than those of HIF-1 alpha and VEGF expression in patients with gastric cancer recurrence or tumor tissue the transfer of (55.07％, 57.97％), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion HIF-1 alpha and VEGF play an important role in the recurrence and metastasis of gastric cancer, is an important basis for the diagnosis and prognosis of gastric cancer patients, clinicians should understand the patients with gastric cancer HIF-1 alpha and VEGF expression, so as to reduce the recurrence and metastasis rate is of important value.

AIM: To determine the content of emodin and physcion in rat plasma by nonaqueous RP-HPLC. METHODS: After hydrolysis and extraction, the content of emodin in the plasma was determined by nonaqueous RP-HPLC. The separation was performed on Kromasil C 18 column (250 mm?4.6 mm, 5.0 ?m) with the mobile phase comprised of methanol-acetic acid (99.9∶0.1). The flow rate was 1.0 mL?min -1 and the detection wavelength was at 254 nm. RESULTS: The linear ranges for emodin and physcion were in the range of 0.0425-2.8 ?g?mL -1 and 0.0491-3.14 ?g?mL -1 , respectively. The average recoveries of emodin and physcion were 95.7%-100.1% and 96.2%-99.8%, with corresponding RSD of 1.3% and 1.6% respectively. CONCLUSION: This method is simple, rapid, accurate and reproducible with RP-HPLC to detect rhein in plasma.

Objective To study the effects of HBeAg in new born infants on the response to anti-hepatitis B immunoglobulin combined with hepatitis B vaccination.Methods Two hundred and eight infants who were born during January 2008 to January 2011 in the Department of Obstetrics in Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University,including 120 serum HBeAg positive infants without intrauterine infection,and 88 HBeAg negative infants as control group were recruited in the study.Infants in both groups were vaccinated with genetically engineered hepatitis B vaccine (CHO cell) 20 μg according to a standard vaccination regimen (i.e.0,1,6) and 200 IU doses of hepatitis B immunoglobulin immediately after birth and at day 15 respectively.Hepatitis B virus (HBV) serological markers and HBV DNA were measured at birth prior to immunization.HBsAg,HBeAgand hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs) were detected at 1,7,and 12 months after birth to evaluate the effects of immune response.The date were analyzed by the chi-square test and groups were analyzed by t test.Results No statistical significances of anti-HBs were observed between the serum HBeAg positive group and the serum HBeAg negative group at the 1st,7th and the 12th month of birth (t=1.285,0.563 and-0.971,respectively; all P＞0.05).The anti-HBs titers in both groups at 1 month were higher than at birth (P＜0.05).At 7 months after birth,the anti-HBs titers in both groups were even higher than those at 1 month.At 12 months after birth,the anti-HBs titers in both groups were lower than those at 7 months,but still higher than those at 1 month(F=34.3959 and 64.908,respectively; both P＜0.01).Infants who were born with positive serum HBeAg were further divided into two subgroups according to the HBeAg titers,using the median HBeAg titer (47.495 S/CO) as the cut off point.Between the two subgroups,there were also no significant differences of anti-HBs at 1 month,7 months and 12 months (all P＞0.05).The HBeAg titers in HBeAg positive infants decreased gradually after birth.At 7 months,only 3 infants remained HBeAg positive.At 12 months,HBeAg turned negative in all of the 120 infants who were previously HBeAg positive,and no anti-HBe positivity were detected.Conclusion The production of anti-HBs after combined immunization with anti-hepatitis B immunoglobulin and hepatitis B vaccine in infants is independent of HBeAg serology at birth.

RESULTS System could come down with the public health event to which every hospital department could find the infectious disease case, hospital infection case, etc. to check, put in order, report, count, analyze, have a look around, inquire about, feedback, and form the monitoring chart with excellent pictures and texts. CONCLUSIONS This software is a medical quality control system of a hospital, can to meet suddenly public health event, infectious disease epidemic situation and hospital infection control, and raise working efficiency in real time to control hospital infection.

AngiotensinⅡ( AngⅡ) is the main functional bioac-tive peptide of the renin angiotensin system,and its basic function is to regulate salt-water homeostasis and blood pressure. Howev-er,recent studies have shown that AngⅡ plays a very important role in tumor formation and angiogenesis by acting on its type 1 receptor (AT1R) as a kind of potential growth factor. This arti-cle is a brief overview of the research on effects of AngⅡ-AT1R system in the process of tumor angiogenesis in recent years.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of telbivudine for pregnant women with hepatitis Be antigen (HBeAg)negative chronic hepatitis B(CHB). Methods Sixty-two cases of HBeAg negative CHB pregnant women were collected from May 2007 to May 2012,and they were divided into telbivudine group (n=31 ,600 mg per day by oral administration)and compound glycyrrhizin group (n=31 ,120 mg per day by intravenous administration).All neonates were given intramuscular injection of 200 IU hepatitis Bimmune globalin at birth immediately and 15 days after birth,and 20 μg genetically engineered hepatitis B vaccine at 0,1 and 6 months after birth.The serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT)level and hepatitis B virus (HBV)DNA titer were monitored.The HBV DNA negative conversion rate,the rate of intrauterine infection,duration of pregnancy,delivery mode,neonate weight and disability rate were compared between groups.All categorical data were analyzed using the chi-square test and comparison between groups was analyzed by t test.Results In telbivudine group,the HBV DNA level before delivery ([0.20±0.11]lg copy/mL)and 6 weeks after delivery ([0.22±0.13]lg copy/mL) were lower than that before treatment [(6.24±0.75 )lg copy/mL]and the differences were statistically significant (t=303.128 and 301 .321 ,respectively;both P <0.01).The negative conversion rate of HBV DNA in telbivudine group was 28 cases before delivery,while in compound glycyrrhizin group,no one had HBV DNA negative conversion.And statistical significant differences were achieved between these two groups before delivery and 6 weeks after delivery (t = -20.285 and -8.721 ,respectively;both P <0.01).In telbivudine group,the ALT levels before delivery and 6 weeks after delivery were (13.08±5.87) U/L and (25.97 ± 17.48)U/L,respectively,which were significantly decreased compared with that before treatment (205.95± 95.69 )U/L.The differences were statistically significant (t = 93.128 and 81.321, respectively;both P <0.01).In compound glycyrrhizin group,the ALT level before delivery ([104.15 ± 69.15]U/L)was lower than that before treatment ([209.60 ± 102.24]U/L)and the difference was statistically significant (t = 9.281 ,P =0.032).However,the ALT level was fluctuant 6 weeks after delivery (150.26± 86.43)U/L,which was not significantly different from that before treatment (t =2.821 ,P =0.122).The ALT levels before delivery and 6 month after delivery were significantly different in both two groups (t=-2.559 and -3.158,respectively;both P <0.05 ).There were no statistically significant differences between these two groups in the rate of intrauterine infection, duration of pregnancy,delivery mode,neonate weight and disability rate.Conclusion The using of telbivudine for pregnant women with HBeAg negative CHB can effectively control the hepatitis activation and reduce the virus titer.
